I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR IF I…

I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE THEM 1 STAR IF I HAD A CHOICE***DO NOT HIRE THESE CRIMINALS*** This company is a complete scam. I have a laundry list of complaints against them but at the very top is the fact that they charged me over TRIPLE the original quote and held my belongings for ransom until I paid. They are liars, they are completely unprofessional and they WILL do it to you too. Please learn from my mistake and don't fall into the trap that these predators have laid. I'd be happy to provide additional details to anyone who would like to hear it.

Criminals

They were contracted to move me through another company; I had no choice. They stood me up on Jan 30, no show/no attempt made to contact me (but falsely marked my pickup as completed in the other company's computer) costing me $290 in storage unit extortion. When they finally did come, they provided a 2.5 hour notice for a Tuesday evening pickup & agreed to a next Friday drop-off (I have Weds/Thurs set-in-stone out-of-town commitment & cannot receive. The driver was incredibly rude, chain-smoked, refused to give his name (the packers vouched for him being an actual driver, but stated they hated working with him because he is a real jerk), tried to extort another nearly $1500 from me even though I matched my Binding Moving Estimate to a T (2 items had broken in storage, which I showed the packers, so those 2 items were left behind as trashed). I had a very unpleasant tete-a-tete with their driver. My stuff was loaded, & the driver informed me he would deliver it Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but could not promise a Friday delivery. He did not show up at all or make any attempt to contact me. My multiple attempts to contact the company reached a number with no voice mail set up. The company that contracted them said they have 7 days from pickup to delivery. They did not deliver or contact me in any way during those 7 days. On Sunday (12 days) I received a text that would "try" to deliver my things. Nothing was delivered & I have had no further contact from them (we are now 16 days in). I am planning to file a police report against them next.

They Stole All Our Stuff

I was about 13 when this happened. My dad got a new job in Cal and we needed to move across the US from VA. So my parents found Load to Road. Seemed ok at first, until the day of the move. The movers were scheduled to come at around 1:00 but instead, we had to wait 3 hours before they got to our townhouse. When they finally got there, out of the TINY truck stepped out, and I swear, a guy who looked like an actual mercenary. Some Mandarin Chinese dude with scars all over his face. Mom didn't want to let him into the house (not being racist or anything, she'll really sweet.) but Dad who was at work said that it was too late. So we let the dude and his friend in and they started moving our stuff, all the while they were talking in a foreign language. In the end, they drove off and we had to pay some fee for THEM being late and the US not letting them into the house. (well, the latter seems fair.) When we finally crossed the states and got the new townhouse, we waited for weeks. So mom tried calling Load to Road and got hung upon. Then she tried the website and got blocked. After a while she tried the fricking FBI, then Covid hit, and they dropped the case within the year. It’s been 2 or 3 years since then, so long story short don’t trust Load to Road or the Better Business Bureau.

The WORST choice you could make!

If there were NEGATIVE stars, this outfit would deserve them. All five. They DO NOT operate a moving company, they are another outfit that makes a ton of reassuring promises, then sticks you with a fly-by-night mover you never heard of. Of course, when the 'mystery mover' appears in your drive on schedule, you are already on the hook for $1500. The outfit Load to Road sent to move us half loaded a 27 foot box truck and charged $15K to deliver it 500 miles away. Load to Road is NOT anything they claim to be. And of course, they are not liable for who they contract to damage, scratch, or pile your prized possessions into boxes.

Worst consumer experience ever!

There is so much for me to say but I truthfully don’t think many would believe the entire story if I took the time to tell it. So I’ll keep it short and sweet, showed up two days late didn’t have the right equipment had to put my stuff in storage, three truck breakdowns, weeks late on the delivery, no interest in doing anything to make it right. The untruths told her were staggering I see that they have not responded to any of the post on this site they do respond to posts on yelp so you might try that

Wish I could give them a ZERO

Wish I could give them a ZERO! They held our move in March 2019. To this day I am still upset. Not only did they scam us with 3 times the quoted amount, I had to sign to receive my belongings, not knowing that the little print also said I acknowledge everything was in good condition. How would I know if it’s in good condition if they wouldn’t unload the truck until I signed. Long story short, I have over 100 pictures of things they broke and will not get compensated. Including my great grandmother’s dishes from the 1800s. NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY!

This company was totally unethical

This company was totally unethical! I confirmed with Ryan my sales person two days before the move I would need a full 26 foot high cube truck. When booking I asked if the movers were company trucks and employee owned and was told they were. The day of the move I find out Load to Road brokers to other companies. The movers showed up and wanted to charge DOUBLE of what was quoted. They said although the detailed inventory matched, the cube calculated and quoted by Ryan at Load to Road was wrong. I tried to speak to Ryan but was hung up on. I was told by the CEO I could cancel and get a refund on my deposit and find someone else or pay the additional money. Talk about being held hostage!

DIfficult to do business with. Cannot be trusted.

After cancelling the job, well withing the time allowed for cancellation, we have been waiting for more than a month for our refund. We have had several conversations in which the refund was promised, but no follow-through. Beware doing business with this company.

Please don’t hire these scammers!

Please don’t hire these scammers!! Juan in sales at Load to Road promised us a certain price and sent it to us in writing. He promised and put it in writing that our belongings would be packed, held in storage for free and delivered by 7-22-19 and packed. We did not know that a subcontractor, H and H moving van lines would be actually moving us.They arrived 7 hours late to pick up our belongings on the date of pick up. Olvin the manager proceeded to scream at me and spoke Spanish which I don’t understand. He tried to overcharge us $1500 more! He reduced it because I begged him not to charge us the higher amount. We had very few belongings and furniture to move. He refused to move quite a few things. His truck was totally empty!! It’s a good thing that I had boxed up our belongings or he and the two other guys would have walked out. Our belongings did not arrive on time. I literally begged Ben at Load to Road to call Henry, the owner of H and H Van lines to deliver our furniture! Ben acted like he was doing us a favor! He was so very rude!Henry never ever called us back and I talked to him one time and he lied about the delivery time. I received a call from a nice man who owned Moos moving company. He let me know he had our belongings. H and H Van lines had given it to them to them to move. I never received a call telling us that another moving company was going to deliver our belongings in August!! Way after the date in the contract! H and H Van lines had put our belongings with other couple’s belongings!
Douglas the owner of Moos Moving did us a huge favor and separated our belongings. We received our belongings and our brand new dining room table was severely damaged, our bathroom wooden vanity was broken, a pan lid was shattered and I cut my finger on the glass. This was all done by H and H moving van lines.
I called Ben at Load to Road and said some terse comments! He defended H and H Van lines and promptly hung up on me! Henry the owner of H and H Van lines will not return my calls.
Please hire Moos Moving!! They are respectful and professional and way way less expensive than going through Load to Road! Load to Toad are complete liars and scammers!! H and H lines is even worse!!!

Worse moving company I've ever used

Worse moving company I've ever used. They are just a broker using outside dispatcher. Talking with them is a nightmare and itgey are unprofessional. They are rude talks over you andctreat their customers like dirt. Tge driver and his heller who came to move left their half eaten lunch behind not cleaning after themselves. The delivery was a disaster. They kept changing the day. The entire experience was a nightmare. Don't use them. Do your homework even if it takes time. I didn't and I suffered!
