No refund when their system fails

When I clicked on "ORDER" to get the tickets, the system kicked back and said that my transaction did not go through and to call customer service. There are no phone numbers and no chat service to contact on the site. I tried to order again a couple of times and they both also kicked back. 5 minutes later I receive a confirmation order for 3 orders. All the transactions went through. I contacted customer service but they said the tickets were non refundable and there was nothing they could do, even though their system was not working properly.

LivingSocial has turned shady

I recently purchased a deal from them for a haircut...within their fine print, they sneaked in that actually blow drying the hair wasn't included. I've never seen them allow a salon to withhold that service. The voucher cost like $35 and the salon up-charges $30 for you to not walk out with wet hair. I flagged this to LivingSocial, kindly asking to exchange for a less skeezy salon four days after purchasing. 24 hours later, they said they will not allow that even though I never opened the voucher to see the code. No wonder people have stopped using LivingSocial as much - lesson learned.

Living social=scam

I receive emails from them and on black friday was very excited to see a deal on ipads. We decided to get one for our autistic little one. Logged on and seen they offered different sizes on the screen as well as memory. Each 1 i clicked on was sold out, or the bigger the screen, the more money. THEN because it was black friday, there was a glitch. Had NO idea i was being charged THREE SEPARATE TIMES ON 3 SEPARATE DAYS! They charged me for 3 ipads and 3 protection plans.
It is extremely hard to get ahold of them too. When i finally talked to someone i said, IF i wanted thee, dont you think I wouldve changed the product count. He asked if there was a glitch too, of course i said yes. Three days later they found they did nothing wrong. We all know apple products are not cheap! This caused my bank account to go negative, LOT! They didnt want anything to do with me being overcharged or anything of the sort, even though ive been a loyal customer for years! They are running a scam, they dont care about their customers and are very inconvenient when a problem arises.

NEVER Buy from LivingSocial!

WOW! I bought a couple of vouchers from LivingSocial. I used one for Shaw Academy and after the course bought a lifetime membership. I called LivingSocial to refund the second Shaw Academy voucher and they won't. You only have 3 days to request a refund so don't even bother buying no matter how good the deal sounds. All the rep from LivingSocial did was read me their hidden details. They are a SCAM. They won't even provide a credit. BTW the call center and online chat is in Columbia - so good luck getting nowhere.

My wife ordered a gift of a voucher for…

My wife ordered a gift of a voucher for an "ONLINE" CWP. I sat down to take the "ONLINE" course only to find there was no way to redeem the voucher. Fine print says it required "preregistration and preauthorization and appointment" for a location "in person". ??? I searched the sellers website and found no redemption information. So I started an online chat with LS. Instantly got a response that "it's our fault for not reading the fine print!". Fine print? For an online course? Turns out there was no online course available via LS. The seller had one. Just that the voucher appeared to be the old "Bait and switch". So my initial contact with the customer service rep was very negative. The situation goes from a simple website error to "we scammed you and are getting away with it' conversation. I couldn't even get the rep to admit that the entire thing was shady to start with. After a really fun exchange I did get a refund. I'm sure it was done to simply make me disappear. But as I was typing a closing with an explanation as to how the reps response made the situation worse, I was "closed and disconnected" from the chat. So, not only is LS aware of these types of things, they actually defend vendors even in the face of clear print and logic. This all gives me the sense that this company is all about money and protecting vendors at the expense of the customers. Caveat Emptor! Go elsewhere.

A dozen communications with Customer Service proves their customer service is terrible. Do NOT order from Living Social.

I placed an order and was never asked for a shipping address, so I assumed it was a voucher. Or at worst would go to my billing address, which I entered as part of entering a new credit card number. Several days later, I get a notice that the package had been shipped... to the wrong address. One associated with an expired credit card on my account. I immediately reached out and asked for the address to be corrected. I was told it couldn't. I asked them to ship me a replacement product to my correct address. I was told they couldn't. Throughout they never even acknowledged that it was their fault. They just said I had to wait until the package was returned as undeliverable. I told them that wouldn't happen. It would just be left on someone else's doorstep. They told me there was nothing they could do until the package was returned. When the package was finally listed by the carrier as having been delivered, I told them I did not receive it. At that point they said the product was no longer available and they would refund me my money or give me an account credit. I took the refund. I won't every order from them again.

Bad Company Stay Away

My daughter in law bought me an hour facial as a gift. When I went there there as no one and I got worried as I am a visitor to USA no car and they are picking me up in an hours time. Finally the lady arrived 15 minutes late no apology and I had a facial which only lasted 30 minutes when I ask them they ask me to return another day for the other 30 minutes which I refuse so did give me another 30 minutes but they burned my face really bad and I still got the scar. My daughter in law complained to Living Social and they said there is nothing they can do as we used the coupon already. Yes we used it hence the complain because they burn my face otherwise we got no cause to complain. I will not touch this company with a six foot barge pole they do not look after their customers, reading from all the other reviews they are a terrible company stay away you've been warn.

I bought a coupon in May 2018 for a car…

I bought a coupon in May 2018 for a car detailing package. The ad looked good and there was a location nearby. However, when I tried to redeem the coupon, it turned out that they had closed all but one of their locations. That location was very inconvenient for me. Still, I called to try and make an appointment. It took several attempts to get someone to answer over two days. When I did speak to someone he said he was too busy to book an appointment and I'd need to call back. I called LivingSocial customer support and they suggested I trade in the coupon. So, I traded it for another car detailing package. Again, I called this business near a dozen times. There was never any answer. I left a voicemail a few times with my number. I then drove to the address for this "deal" and there was no "auto-spa" at this location. Once again, I spoke to LivingSocial. They offered to contact the business for me and help facilitate the coupon redemption. 4 days passed and nothing happened. Finally, after feeling very duped, I asked for my money back. LivingSocial refused. They will only provide a credit. This isn't acceptable. If they weren't fraudulently selling coupons, there wouldn't be an issue. However, they are. When I checked, both these deals are still active. So, they are essentially "fooling" others as I type this. I don't plan to use LivingSocial again.

Buyer BEWARE

I would NEVER purchase ANYTHING from this company!! They sold gift certificates KNOWING there were countless complaints against this so called company. I did not get to go on my wine tasting limo excursion but since the guy cancelled just hours before I was stuck with a large hotel bill! The event we planned for months was ruined, & to add insult to injury Living Social did NOTHING about it. The first person I contacted told me I had 4 business days to decide on another deal...but when I tried ordering it I was unable to. They then told me the original purchaser (who did NOT check this particular e mail account) could only get credit, not me. So almost $200 down the drain. Disgusted

false Refund Policy

The Refund Policy on their printed voucher states that a refund will be given if the merchant goes out of business.
Our Voucher's merchant went out of business. We call LivingSocial and they said "NO REFUNDS." We said your policy states refunds for out of business. Customer Service said, "NO REFUNDS."
Do not use LivingSocial for any purchases!!

Mostly Honest?

I honestly had no issues with this site whatsoever. I ordered a pair of women's snow boots, and got exactly what I ordered. The boots were nicer than what I expected, judging from LivingSocial's pictures of them. The site is a sister site of Groupon, but unlike Groupon, LivingSocial offered a promo code, and I was able to save another $10.00. the only dislikes: (1) the boots were marked as $99.99 "originally" by the site, but when they arrived, they had a market price tag of $79.99 on them. Kind of deceptive... (2) LivingSocial sent my package via FedEx Smart Post, but for some reason, it was transferred to the USPS last minute, so I had to wait a few extra days for delivery.
Other than that, I'm satisfied with what I bought, and considering I only paid $39.99 for the boots which ACTUALLY ticket for $79.99, I'm happy. :)

They are not that bad

They are not that bad. They have some decent offers, good partnership with Groupon, bought few good local deals in here, don't bother shopping travel or goods on living social, they tend to be over priced.

Do not buy the Living Social offer for …

Do not buy the Living Social offer for the "Ultimate Date Night" as it is a scam. The movie tickets are not the problem. The $124 valued deal was advertised as if you could get two movie passes and a restaurant voucher for $100 that could be used on that ultimate date night when in fact the restaurant.com voucher only allows you to use portions of that $100 at various restaurants. The restaurant voucher can not be used on one night and is for inconveniently located second rate restaurants. So in reality you get a $100 credit on an ecard with restaurant.com but you can only use small amounts or that credit at one restaurant at a time. Some only let you use $5 of that credit when you spend say $15. The restaurant I chose only allowed use of $25 credit and I had to spend $50 to get that. So in effect you will have to fork over at least another $100 dollars at multiple restaurants in order to use the entire $100 credit on that card. My voucher was only for 60 days and I travel so getting to use that amount at various locations before expiration is a problem. In the past I have not had a problem getting a credit or refund from Living Social but they say I didn't read the fine print when the fact is that the fine print did not indicate that the voucher could not be used on that one "Ultimate Date NIGHT" as advertised. I have been a frequent user of Living Social but I will not use them in the future. This will be posted on several review sights.

Customer service

I'm not complaining...I had a very good result today and I fully expected the contrary....based on all the negativity I've read today. I just wanted to instill a shred of hope.
In one phone call, my issue was resolved with kindness and professionalism. In addition, I've had many negative experiences dealing with foreign customer service operators who are unable to effectively communicate in English...this was not the case this afternoon! This gentleman sounded Indian(I was immediately apprehensive), however, he was succinct in his explanations, appropriate in his approach, and eager to offer further assistance!
In a world of negativity, I hope you find it refreshing to share something positive!
Thank you in advance for sharing, have a great day!

LIving Social "Experience" deals are a BAD deal

LIving Social sells "Experience" deals that require that you schedule your "experience" with the vendor. They end up selling too many and then you can't get an appointment within the deal period so your hands are tied and you have to pay the full retail price for the experience or you could end up losing a lot of money. Don't ever buy and "experience" that requires an appointment!

Deal Bucks can't be redeemed

I purchased a voucher for carpet cleaning. The voucher clearly stated it was good for my area. When I called to set up the service, I was told that the carpet cleaning company did not service my area. I requested a refund and received Deal Bucks. When i try to use those Deal Bucks, (To purchase an item LESS than the cost of the credit on my account, I am told to use another credit card??? I have a credit on my account. No need for a credit card. But, I check my card, thinking maybe it expired and it's holding up the transaction. Nope. All the info is correct and the card is fine to use. I try another card, Same problem. I try using their paypal option, Same problem. Clearly the issue is on their end, So I call their phone number and get connected to someone in India, who promptly hangs up on me, I call back and ask for a manager. I hold for over an hour. I call again and get put on hold forever again. When someone finally comes back, he wants my credit card info. OK. Only if you issue me a refund, Nope, They can't do that, Deal bucks only. Fine! Then let me use the Deal Bucks! Hold again, another 30 minutes. Bottom line, I'm out $45 and they don't give a crap. Terrible service and I will tell everyone I can about it.

No way to get refund

I bought voucher in December - vent cleaning inc (this site does not accpept suggestions and not sure if this is a valid site or not) there are multiple number and had to track it down.
Dec 30 - a technician was supposed to come to my place and clean. Didnt show up and I called back to know and was told wont be coming. I stayed back home during weekend for this service.

Again in Jan (forgot date) Technician was supposed to come between 12 and 2 : I got a call around 4 that they wont be coming
Same thing stayed home and got a call at the end of the day

March: A technician comes and tells me they cannot do the work as said in Voucher unless I buy other 250 worth service (I wish I knew this before hand)

June: I got a call from the company that a technician is in the area and will perform service between 4-6: I came back from work to get the service done.
I got pricing for Vent cleaning and Dryer - later I decided I want to replace Dryer vent so wanted to take that out of service. However, technician told me he will have to leave to perform service at some other place.

June 9 I called the company and they said that it was pricing issues - I said it was communication issue that I just wanted to not do Dryer vent and just do whole house vents as per the pricing. I was also ok with the discount they were giving - which will not be applicable. But the person over the phone told me all of a sudden that they don't perform service in the area and contact Living social for refund (which they know is out of refund dates anyways).
Living social says contact the provider while provider says contact living social.
I hope other customers are not duped like this.
