On 23rd November I purchased a fire place, when it arrived the plug was broken and the wood log inside was chipped.
On email I spoke to someone at Home & Living who suggested they give me 30% refund and I get the plug fixed, which I thought was absurd. Why would I want a broken fire place?
I told them I’d be available to have the fire place to be sent back on 5th December which they arranged via DPD. The fireplace was sent back recorded delivery. On 14th December pI was sent £33 refund to my Klarna account. Then on 27th January they took another £57.
Klarna had cancelled my request for a refund as Debenhams had not approved my return.
I then had a speak to numerous people (inconvenience) to get a straight answer, Jordan at Debenhams was able to do this finally.
I then sent an email directly to Living & Home asking why I was refunded £33 instead of a full refund as requested. I then received an email back from Julie saying they click a button to a platform, refund now takes 15-19 days (new news 🤦🏼♀️) and I should calculate the time and wait patiently.
This is the poorest customer service I’ve experienced and I suggest members of the L&H team understand how to be empathetic and not write emails in a condescending tone. I would also suggest reviewing the goods in process and how this is mapped to refunds being dealt with efficiently, this will stop customers having to do all the leg work.

2 bars were the wrong size. I have spent a week trying to sort it out. I have decided to return the product. Struggling to get a return label. Very disappointed.

Absolutely terrible I received an item which I purchased from Debenhams website expecting it to be good quality …. It was not at all so returned it within a few days of receiving item and was delivered to them on 22 December 2025. It’s now 28 January 2026 they have ignored my emails. They don’t answer the phone and still awaiting refund. Avoid like the plague

Saw their recling chairs on their site and was impressed with design, colour etc. However, the quality was not good. I went through the hassle of having to send them back via a courier, which took a while for them to confirm the return.
I won't use again

Purchased from Range 2 artificial trees.Supplied by Living and home apparently.Cost £40 each. After 7 months both fell over .The tube had totally rotted where it entered the concrete base. They think this is acceptable and as beyond 6 month warranty hard luck!! Apparently they cannot verify how they were used (???). I stood them outside as that is what I thought they were designed for! Think before you buy from this company.
Incidentally these trees were delivered to a house about a mile away(no address just a photo of them on a doorstep) and their solution ,when contact was eventually made, was to go searching for them.

Pleasant shopping experience from online order through delivery.
A nice e fireplace as advertised. Robust and easy to install (done by contracted joiners). The heater can be a little noisy when in use. The embers colour choice varied and effective, perhaps some artistic reality will make it perfect.

Dreadful company. They will not speak to you on the phone even though their website says you can request they call you. That is very dodgy in itself. I arranged by e-mail a collection of an item that was the wrong size. The courier said they could only collect in the morning even though I explained I had an appointment to go to. They said they would come early. In fact they never turned up. When I contacted customer service they couldn't care less.
In their reply they say they can't trace my order yet they had no problem tracing it in direct emails and during live chat. This is more evidence of a poor quality company

Absolute shambles, don’t order from them.
It has been painful so far with Living and Home to say the least. Order has been placed since the end of November and due to stock issue, it is scheduled to be delivered next week. But now I am told the courier do not have my address within their service area?! I have had deliveries from all different courier and have not had any issues until now. I even provided a 'what3word' address to them but they seems to be ignoring it and just told me it's not possible to deliver to my address and I need to provide an alternative address for deliver. Who is going to cover the cost for the deliver to my actual address? It also doesn't help when the customer service team take a day to respond each time.
Edit - update 13/01/2026
I love how Living and Home is trying to invalidate my review and I have been told my order has still not been dispatched, downgrade to 1 star.

ORDER #118027
Edit - update 16/01/2026
So much for investigating and following up with the issue, as soon as they realise they are at fault they go radio silent. Ps I still haven’t got my sofa, 7 weeks after order has been placed.
Edit - update 23/01/26
Still haven’t got my sofa and customer service team has done nothing to help. They just take the money and all you can do is to pray that nothing goes wrong because you are on your own if they do. Truly, where it goes wrong is because their customer service team is not even based in this country. How do you resolve any issue without being in the country and have no understanding of how things work in this country, not to also mention the time difference!
Edit 27/01/26
Sofa finally arrived, full of scratches, dents and marks in the furniture. Also doesn’t come with instructions so I assume they think everyone is an expert in assembling and using a sofa bed as soon as you purchase it.
If there was a negative star I would use it ! After sales and returns appalling, promises to collect and return fire on six occasions and no one ever turns up , avoid them at all costs
For clarity and to validate this score I am referring to order Sales Request 7301-2495-42-A Living and Home 50 Inch Modern Electric Fireplace - Wall Mounted/Freestanding, with Remote Control, 1800W
It is a valid complaint so don’t try and say you cannot find the order I have a dozen emails from you I can out on this platform if necessary

I ordered the 100cm Gold LED Strip Wall Light expecting a brushed/satin gold metal finish as clearly shown in the original listing images.
What I received was completely different: a mustard yellow, glittery plastic light that looks cheap and toy-like. This is not a “slight colour difference” or a lighting issue - it is a materially different product.
Despite being provided with clear photos of the item received, Living and Home repeatedly tried to classify this as a “change of mind” return and charge a return fee, rather than accepting that the item was not as described.
Even more concerning, after my complaint, many of the original listing images were removed, which conveniently introduces doubt about the advertised colour and finish. Thankfully, I had saved the original images, which clearly show a very different product to what was supplied.
This experience suggests an unwillingness to accept responsibility and a lack of transparency. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when ordering, as the product received may not match what is advertised, and resolving issues is unnecessarily frustrating.

Appalling customer service. They send out a faulty item then push back so hard making it difficult so they do not have to give you a refund. It’s the most stressful experience when dealing with an unprofessional company with inferior goods.

Great looking fire place. Sets off the media wall we have built it into ( would add photo but not completed yet). For the cost I don’t think you will get better value for money.
Great communications and fast delivery. Would recommend to anyone.

I have ordered 6 flour storage boxes on 16/12/25. They arrived on 20/12/25. Unfortunately they couldn’t fit in the storage area. I therefore contacted living and home customer service immediately to ask for a return. They tried to make me keep the items for some discount. Despite my refusal they kept asking me to keep for more discount. Eventually they gave up and booked a collection with DPD on 29/12/25. We waited for the collection all day. The driver RANJODH failed to deliver, instead THEY provided a picture of the building’s main entrance taken from inside his van as evidence! HE DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO STEP OUT IF HIS VAN! we complained to DPD. We asked living at home to arrange an appointment that we drop the items in a DPD collection point. They replied that they’d already booked it for the 5/1/26, without a prior agreement with me, and that I NEED TO STAY AT HOME FOR COLLECTION. I have all the emails sent to me asking me clearly to stay at home and wait for the driver. Because there wouldn’t be anyone around in that date, we changed the date (only the date because we cannot change the location) to the 8/1/26. Sure enough, the collection was arranged from a DPD collection point AND NOT FROM MY HOME DESPITE THEM ASKING ME YO STAY AT HOMEA WAIT FOR THE DRIVER. 2 days lost from work waiting for DPD driver. Totally unacceptable and unfair on me and my family. Can living and home arrange for me to drop at my preferred DPD collection point which is: YEEP! Shaibis Mini Market

Greenhouse window broke when it got windy. After weeks of waiting for customer service to reply they have refused to replace or even sell a replacement part. Now I'll need to dismantle and throw away a greenhouse. Really poor customer service, poor product. Avoid.

Not happy with this product as even with the best dimmer switch, it does not work as I tried 3 dimmer switches. What a waste of time
