Never never again will I use the Coop

I made an online order with the BraceBridge Heath grocery store in Lincoln, which I have used for many years now. However, when my order arrived, it was missing many items, yet I was still charged for them, totalling £19.50. I was not happy about this and contacted the store to make a complaint. They told me that, to get a refund, I had to contact the courier, JustEat. However, unfortunately, they couldn't deal with the issue, as the complaint was made outside their 24-hour deadline. I then complained to the Lincoln Tentercroft Street customer service office. However, the man I spoke to was very unhelpful, insisting that the problem wasn't the Coop but JustEat's. He was very rude, with a bad attitude, and at one point said I was wrong. I asked him if he had ever heard of the saying 'the customer is always right'. He replied yes, so I told him not to say I was wrong again. I also sent them an email about the situation and received a reply several days later, basically saying the same thing: that I was not entitled to a refund of £19.50. I replied to their email, telling them that I have used their grocery stores for years, but will never ever be using them again after the way I have been treated by them. I also told them that I will be taking the matter to the Ombudsman, as they are breaking the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I feel the Coop have simply robbed me of items that I did not receive, and this is simply not acceptable. Never, ever again will I be using the Coop services.

Lincoln Coop stores are excellent

I mostly use Lincoln Coop stores, and they are always clean and tidy, and the staff are professional and helpful. I think for a smaller supermarket, there is a wide range of goods, including fresh produce. I like that most stores sell some locally produced foods and wish they'd increase this range. The company is very involved in the community, and I'm enjoying their wellbeing walks at several green spaces in Lincoln and the online training events. My points certainly add up; my only reservation is that it's taken a bit of time to get used to the self-service checkouts at the Sencil St branch, but now I'm a pro.

Poor Costumer Service and after care

We booked our recent EasyJet Holidays package through Lincolnshire Co-op Travel in Gainsborough so that we could use our Dividend points towards the cost of our holiday. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing and nowhere near the standard we’ve received when booking directly with EasyJet Holidays.

The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication. When we’ve booked directly with EasyJet Holidays before, we’ve always received helpful emails with airport transfer details, resort information, emergency contact numbers, and return transfer arrangements. This time, we received virtually nothing.

It appears that the travel agency provided their own email address and telephone number to EasyJet Holidays instead of ours. As a result, we didn’t receive important updates directly, leaving us feeling uninformed and unsure about our holiday arrangements throughout our trip.

The situation came to a head the day before we were due to fly home when we still hadn’t received our return transfer details. We had to search for the EasyJet Holidays 24/7 Support number ourselves and call them just to find out when we were being collected. Customers shouldn’t have to chase such essential information while they’re on holiday.

We were also disappointed with the payment options. One of the reasons we booked months in advance was to spread the cost. Had we booked directly with EasyJet Holidays, we could have paid by Direct Debit. Instead, we were expected to visit the travel branch every month to make payments, which was inconvenient and difficult to fit around work and other commitments. In the end, we had little choice but to pay by credit card, which we had hoped to avoid.

While we appreciated being able to use our Dividend points, that benefit didn’t outweigh the poor communication and lack of flexibility. We expected the same level of customer service and information that EasyJet Holidays provides when booking directly, but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience.

Based on this experience, we would think very carefully before booking through Lincolnshire Co-op Travel again.

Breaks my heart to yet again have to…

Breaks my heart to yet again have to give this co-op a 1star!!! I thought after the complaint to head office would have made some changes in the laceby co-op but NO!!!! Its STILL the same!! Sarah with the washed out pink hair is rude, unprofetional, bad attitude i have experiance this for myself and ive seen & heard her being the same with other customer's! ILL NEVER SHOP IN THAT STORE AGAIN!! Ill be making dam sure that other potentonal customers know how bad the co-op is..!! Its cheaper for me to shop in M&S than it is in any co-op store as the prices seamed to have been plucked out of thin air which is totally unaceptable!! Is Alison Hands even listening to the members because it seams like she isnt!!! The co-op use to be a ‘TRUSED’ brand were you could get locally sorcecd & produced items but sadly NOT NOW!! It seams like all the money is being SUCKED OUT of the company & i would say its going on bonus's?? ?

Well I had to give I star

Well I had to give I star! The pharmacy in Horncastle is just AWFUL. I would suggest the Management look at all the reviews about one particular member of staff! Just AWFUL! If this was anywhere else people would go elsewhere! But you have NO CHOICE! Most of the staff are bullies! It's a run down pharmacy limited stock. This is 2026! Not 1976 Thankfully I am moving and will not have to put up with this appalling service for much longer

Lincolnshire Co-Op zonal pricing

The Lincolnshire Co-Op clearly operates a zonal pricing policy which means the same item can be priced differently in different stores. That seems immoral to me. Many people would consider the Co-Op to be an ethical organisation, more so than other companies, but is that in keeping with zonal pricing?
The nearest Co-Op to me is the one on Skellingthorpe Road, Lincoln, where many items are more expensive than nearby Co-Op stores such as Birchwood, Skellingthorpe or Boultham Park. In one specific case, raspberries priced at £2.40 in those other Co-Op stores were £3.35 in the Skellingthorpe Road one which is a massive mark up. I have tried to raise this several times with their Head Office only to be either ignored or fobbed off with the items were different sizes when they were exactly the same size. There seems to be something seriously wrong with how the Lincolnshire Co-Op is run.

The staff don't seem happy either. The usual bonuses which they had worked hard to receive were either cancelled or reduced considerably, sometimes without notice or paid much later than usual. The only conclusion one can draw from that is that the Lincolnshire Co-Op don't respect their hardworking staff as much as they ought to. They work very hard, almost non-stop. Lincolnshire Co-Op don't deserve such loyal staff.

I hardly shop there now and I used to be in there several times a week.

Lincolnshire Coop Carlton Centre management.

This is not about a Lincolnshire Coop store but about the Carlton Centre, Lincoln which Lincolnshire Coop manages.
I live next to the Carlton Centre and for years it has been kept clean with conscientious and efficient litter pickers.
January 1st 2025 and a new company has been appointed to keep things clean and tidy.
Oh dear. HUGE mistake. Litter bins full, litter blowing about. If this is not put right soon it will be the thin end of the wedge of decline.
Hoping the new contractor is either compelled to improve or it is sacked and the previous company re-employed.

Soooo Disappointed in roses....

REALLY disappointed in the roses bought from our Lincolnshire co-op in Laceby, on the first day it opened. Drooping within 36 hours, several petals and heads were brown in 3 days. In the past have found co-op roses to last way beyond 7 days ............

I have always had excellent advice from High Street, corner of Tealby Street pharmacy. Today being no exception. I think it was Nicole 12/6/23 AM, she was standing in for the morning. She was friendly, helpful and gave great advice. Thanks.
