SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT

Misrepresented cost of treatment, average cost for me and other families were $500 per head.

Went to family DR next day who found many nits and live lice. The owner has a camera and calls the women working there if they don’t keep patients long enough. The staff clearly feel intimidated, though one staff member was also loudly chastising this young teen for having the worst case of lice she’s ever seen. It’s common for the women to openly talk about all the lice in their patients hair like it’s disgusting. They also discuss how hard their work conditions are and that they don’t take breaks, when they each went out for a short period of time (while charging patients by the minute). And when combing your hair they take their sweet sweet time 3 hours per head…. Twice as long as it should take at maximum.

So the service is costs significantly more than quoted, it doesn’t work, they won’t show you the products they use, they don’t provide a customer receipt, and they complain and chastise customers.

I want my money back, especially because I had to spend an extra $50 getting Nix from the store. It won’t happen though, because this is a completely corrupt business. GIVE ME MY $895 REFUND YOU CRIMINALS!!!!!!!

I hope they go under. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!

Total scam and ripoff

Total scam and ripoff. My family went to licenders in brooklyn. Paid $925 to treat my 2 boys ages 5 and 3 and to check my wife. (which is ridiculous)

They charge by the hour so of course they take all the time in the world. They also tell you that its normal to find eggs/nits afterwards and that we should comb the boys out for the next two weeks. Im so upset!! I didnt pay a thousand dollars to a "professional" so I can do it myself for the next two weeks and to keep finding eggs.

Told the school nurse about this horrible service, she said they have a bad reputation. Shouldve done more research.
Go to the orthodox ladies instead.

Thank You Licenders

Walked into Licensers on the East Side (81 street) with bad case of lice. I was scared and did not not known what to do next. Rose and Chaniqua came to the rescue. They went above and beyond of what they had to do, they stayed late on Friday Night until I was taken care of. What can be nightmare for our family, they made it very easy to get rid of the lice and had an great experience. When life gives lice the place to go is Licenders East Side. Thank you so much Rose and Chaniqua for saving my day.

No confidence.

If you are ever unfortunate enough to have lice, the last thing you want to feel after having spent nearly $600 and several hours is worry that the salon didn't do it's job and you'll have to do the whole thing over again.

Extremely unhappy with the $565 hair treatment I just received. Upsetting enough to have lice, then be be charged nearly double the amount for my children ($300 each, with a lovely woman who came to my home, not affiliated with LE).

I was kept there for hours while the clock was running. Place was understaffed so I waited while the technician took calls/e-mails (presumably from her manager) and performed a lice check on another client. The "airalle" dryer was not working, despite my waiting 45 minutes for them to fix it - that didn't lower my price (yet it is an essential part of their treatment - "AirAllé device is so effective at killing lice eggs (which are the hardest for traditional lice products to kill), the chances of needing a follow-up treatment are very small."). I called to explain and they told me the dryer would have just "added on to the time." The invoice states: "Treatment includes the AirAlle ...medical device that is 99.2% effective.." Well, is it or is it not part of the treatment?

I was not give any instructions to come back for a follow up visit, though at least 2 people came in for that reason. They threw in a bottle of shampoo for my trouble, and graciously deducted the time they kept me waiting (one hour = $140). I am beyond shocked and very disappointed.

The technician did her best, as far as I can see, though the treatment time was excessive for someone with thin hair - my children have long and very thick hair - I have just below shoulder length very thin hair, so thin, in fact, I'm on oral and topical meds to thicken it. I hold the managers responsible for what is essentially brazen over-charging and under-performing.

Worst of all, I have no confidence the treatment was successful. i'm itchy and my neck/back is covered with backing soda. I may be wrong - time will tell - but I'm extremely regretful I went to Licenders. I was so upset at having lice I failed to look at reviews first. I hope you won't make the same mistake.

Very Thorough!

Phil G.

I was notified by one of the program coordinators at my daughters school that my toddler had head lice. When I contacted the school they told me that this was a routine screening done before the start of the school year by a company contracted by the school. However, when I asked them how serious this matter was I was told that they only found a few knits, nothing that would suggest an infestation. While researching the internet I found out about a company called Licenders who offers free screenings 7 days a week. So I decided to get a second opinion and see for myself what really was going on.

After a short wait my daughter was seen by a clinician who spent time doing a full sweep of my daughters hair and confirmed that she had 6 lice as well as many knits that needed to be removed. At the same time she was very reassuring and walked me through the treatment process. I was able to see firsthand just how detailed and careful the clinicians at Licenders are as they carefully removed the lice using their (all-natural) cleansing agents and combs. These bugs and their knits are visible enough to be seen on towel paper as was shown to me by the clinician. This took away any doubts that I had previously had while at the same time it helped me realize that this was no small situation like the school had made it sound. I completely understand that no school wants to create a panic among the parent body, however, I am so glad that I chose Licenders to give me the full story of what was happening. Moreover, I was highly impressed at the techniques implemented to remove the lice as well as the guidance that was given to me as to how to maintain a lice-free head. By the way, they assess the parents as well because once a child has it, chances are that a parent has it too.

Thankfully, I was cleared without any problems, but, got a comb-out and shampooing anyway just to be sure that if something was not detected on a first screening that it wouldn't get too far with the scrub out that I had undergone! Overall what made me feel great was knowing that I was taking control of the situation by employing the services of a company that has a reputation for excellence, a strong web-based presence that is highly informative and very up-to date, and last but not least-very thorough. Getting lice removed can be time consuming, but, at Licenders I can honestly say that it's time well spent. As a matter of fact I would highly recommend them to my daughters day camp for both screenings and removal. Undoubtedly, this would help ease any unnecessary stress at the start of the school year. I would also recommend their hair care products to maintain a lice-free scalp-
they are all natural and easy to use.

Thank You!

I just wanted to write a quick note to express my relief that my family and I are finally lice free. It took almost three months of shampooing with pesticides that did nothing to rid us of the lice problem. Even with repeated combings. However, your method of removal and follow up have done the trick. Thank you once again for informing me of a safe, non-toxic way to remove and be rid of lice and nits, and to be free of them forever.

Great Service - I recommend Licenders

I tried everything and nothing worked. Licenders got my child back to school the next day! I tried the cheaper services first but in the end they proved more expensive because they diddn't work. Licenders knows what they are doing, they treated me and my child with RESPECT!. I highly recommend their service. Maggie P.

Bad service, over priced and over rated!!!!!

From what I experienced this company is just terrible on all levels. Now I know Licenders has been taking advantage of families for years. All they care about is milking your wallet for as much money as possible. The service was pathetic and the technician was terrible. The service was ineffective too and did not work. My 2 kids still had live lice in their hair the very next morning!!! even though they stayed at my house till 11 p.m. or so the night before. Over one thousand dollars later I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Licenders has become a bad joke and the word is out. What a ruse. They even bottled baking soda and sold it online as 'activating powder" for $18. The ingredients were sodium bicarbonate...that's it..straight baking soda. Now c'mon.......how sleazy!

Great Company. But I hate lice!!!

Licenders really deserves 5 stars.
They didn't give me lice.
They removed them!

but it is hard for me to show appreciation for something that cost me so much time... and money.

Seriously, I had recurrent lice for months. Licenders sent a clinician, Janine up to my house in Connecticut. She was amazing. She was here, combing out lice and nits for 10 hours. My whole family was infested, and we didn't know.

Then she kept up with me on the telephone, during the nit-free maintenance process ran it's course. (it's about 2 weeks before you know you have completely outsmarted those bugs!)

she provided me with $65.00 worth of supplies and a priceless amount of advice, concern, and moral support.
