Good communication to begin with, however that was short lived.
As my purchase became near to exchange I was unable to speak to the trainee solicitor who was dealing with my case. Every time you ring LPL you’re answered by a call centre who don’t even work in the same building as the solicitors. On many occasions I asked to speak with my case handler and was told various excuses - she’s on a call, she’s working on your case, she’s in a meeting (lots of meetings), and on one occasion I was shocked to hear - she ‘will not speak to you’. I was promised many callbacks which never happened. I was not contacting LPL for unnecessary reasons, I had genuine and urgent questions.
LPL have an in-house target to answer emails and phone calls between 24 and 48 hours. Not the service I expect when paying a lot of money for the conveyancing of a house purchase. In these circumstances 24-48 hours is just not quick enough.
A very important document concerning my mortgage was completely missed by the person dealing with my case which meant I had to find someone to sign it at very short notice. This was an error by the case handler / trainee solicitor which cost me a further week delay leading up to exchange.
I was invoiced for two extra items I was never told about and asked for my £50k deposit 2 weeks before exchange.
I received an email to say I’d completed on completion day - no phone call.
A week after completion I was then contacted to say my stamp duty had been sent to HMRC TWICE in error, requesting I sign and form to release the money back to LPL. The form I was sent was for a different person and house purchase 150 miles away!
Breach of GDPR, overcharged, broken promises and rude trainee solicitors. I will NEVER USE AGAIN.
AVOID.

My sister is using this company to purchase our fathers house from us which we were all so happy about as it ment the family home will stop in the family, She instructed LPL over a year ago but they were so slow that it caused the first mortgage offer to expire, which at the time we were dissapointed but she picked herself up and acquired another mortgage offer even tho her borrowing fees were higher........ but here we still are trying to get this purchase completed, the scary part is that her second mortgage is due to expire very soon and with the current mortgage rates going up this is going to cause significant impact on her finances. She has been emailing every week but she never gets a reply.
Our other solicitor has also been chasing for a completion date but again is being ignored. I myself sent a complaint to lpl but all i got was you are not our client so we cant deal with you which i understand but i am the executor of my fathers estate so it also affects me and my solicitor.
This is causing so much stress on our family..... All we want is to get our dads estate sorted and to move on from what has been a very sad time for us all. I just dont understand how this has taken so long as my sister lives in the house and there are no other parties involved, we have agreed everything and my sister has done everything she has been asked to do but still no completion even tho she has been promised numurous times that everything is ready to proceed.
Unfortunatly if this does not get completed asap we have no choice but to take matters further.

Over a year and still no completion – completely unacceptable
I genuinely cannot understand how a relatively straightforward property transaction can be handled this badly.
My father passed away and my sister is purchasing his house from the family. She already lives in the property and LPL Solicitors were instructed over a YEAR ago. LPL has been dealing with the matter and, more than 12 months later, we are STILL waiting for completion.
I appreciate that I am not personally LPL’s client, but their handling of this transaction is directly affecting me and the rest of my family. Our solicitors have been ready to proceed for a considerable amount of time, but getting responses and meaningful progress from LPL has been incredibly difficult.
The most frustrating part is the apparent complete lack of urgency. My sister has already had ONE mortgage offer expire during this process. She now only has a few weeks remaining on her second mortgage offer and we are seriously concerned that this one will expire as well.
How can a house purchase take over a year when the buyer already lives in the property and everyone else is ready to proceed?
This is also happening while our family is trying to deal with my father's affairs following his death. What should have been a straightforward process has instead become a prolonged source of unnecessary stress and frustration.
Communication has been extremely poor, progress appears painfully slow, and from our experience there seems to be very little consideration for the consequences these delays are having on the people involved.
If the second mortgage offer is allowed to expire because this transaction still hasn't completed, we will be looking at formally escalating the matter through the appropriate complaints process and, if necessary, to the relevant ombudsman.
Based entirely on what our family has experienced over the last year, I could not recommend LPL Solicitors. If you are considering using them for a property transaction, I would seriously consider looking elsewhere.

We used LPL to sell and buy, we chose them because they had one of the highest ratings on Halifax’s authorised conveyancing list. Beatrice Carp‑McGowan Handled the case, and we can not fault her, answered every email within the hour and if I ever had to call I was put straight through to her. Wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.

Very difficult to find out what was happening. When our case handler went on holiday we were given wrong information. Very stressful

We were very happy with LPL. They, and our solicitor Erica Leon in particular, helped us buy our first home and the process was very straightforward and efficient. The portal we were given access to was relatively easy to use. We had one issue submitting ID for my wife, but we were able to submit all other document through the portal and, after contacting LPL about our issue, they quickly resolved it by giving us an alternative method for submitting ID to them. Once we were assigned our case handler, Erica, she introduced herself to us over the phone and handled the rest from there, promptly answering all our questions and contacting us directly whenever there was something we needed to action. We are very grateful to Erica and the LPL team, and we are very happy in our new home.

Ethan was fantastic. As a FTB dreading the process, Ethan made sure he answers our questions timely and easy for us to grasp as FTB. Highly recommended.

Now that the sale of our house has finally come to a successful conclusion, I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to Sima Ludi for everything they’ve done throughout the process.
From start to finish, they’ve been absolutely fantastic. It’s been really stressful and unpredictable, but their professionalism, patience, dedication, and constant support made such a difference. Sima truly went above and beyond at every stage, always keeping us informed, answering our questions, and doing everything they could to keep things moving.
We genuinely appreciate the time, effort, and care that Sima put into helping us achieve a successful sale. We couldn't have asked for better service.
Thank you once again for everything you've done.

Erica Leon was amazing from start to finish, she updated us throughout the process and was always available to answer any questions we had, explaining everything to us and was always so professional.
Erica managed to get us to complete when we asked although we had a few hurdles to get there!
I would 💯 recommend Erica to anyone looking for a decent solicitor, she was amazing. We will use her again.

Our solicitor William was absolutely amazing. Communication was very prompt and he kept things moving smoothly despite some difficulties we faced with our buyers. I really can't fault William or his team at all and I'm very thankful for them taking my calls multiple times a day in the final stretch when I was very stressed!

Very slow service, and the links they send are often incorrectly sent up, so signing digitally becomes difficult as the wrong person gets the links!
Even though all the paperwork was filled out by me, with my name first, my name is alphabetically first and I am the oldest sibling they continually listed my brothers name and contact details first - very sexist.
They also sent links for feedback that were out of date and didn't work.

We’ve bought our first home and honestly what a smooth & beautiful experience it has been with Beatrice from LPL. She was extremely pro active and always got back to us very quick. She also went above and beyond for us. It was a pleasure to work with her and it’s certainly not the last time we’ll work together. Also a shout out to Ethan who was as proactive when covering for Beatrice while she was on annual leave. Thanks everyone!🫶

At the start it wasn't the best experience, but when the case got assigned to Gini Katirai she has been brilliant no issues
