Weird luggage delivery !

Have been flying with Latam from Lima to Cusco in the Premium Economy class. It was a direct flight . On my arrival in Cusco my luggage was not on delivery belt. So I contacted a young lady who was taking some information . She took a copy of my tag and ran away. I told her that I wanted to get a tracking number of my luggage and know exactly where is my luggage being held . Why it has not been delivered. I paid more than I should then do to get my luggage on the same day and time of my arrival. The young lady brought me to the Latam counter in Cusco . I started to discuss and try figure out where my luggage could have stayed. The agent at the counter told me the luggage has been stuck somewhere in Lima. So I asked frequently where in Lima , on which flight it is going to come over, I need my stuffs in for I don't have any hiking shoes (was going to Machu Pichu) , no clothes, cosmetics etc. I told the lady at the counter that I am going to buy stuffs I need and going to send the bill to Latam to get a refund. She told me she was calling to Lima...but what the hell of this action. As a world traveller I know that if your luggage has not followed, you get a file number so you can track yourself where is your luggage and when it is going to be delivered. After a long discussion, she said oh madam here is your luggage. Till now still wandering how did my luggage leave the plane , did not access to the delivery belt but behind the counter of LAtam??? nobody could give me an answer , since I was angry with those people I preferred to leave to my hotel. One thing I fear or suppose is that somebody wanted to steal my suitcase. I don't believe I would like to fly again with Latam if I don't need to!

LATAM and credit card fraud

Yesterday I began to receive emails stating that my flight(s) had been booked with LATAM. The problem? I've never even heard of the company. My credit card was stolen and there were at least 7 people who purchased tickets with this airline.

Even after I contacted my bank and had the card frozen, there were more reservations coming through. I tried to go online to cancel them, but without the passenger's login info, I couldn't. I called and spoke with a representative to tell them that there were 3 (at that time) people fraudulently using my card to purchase tickets and that I had all of their flight info. The customer service rep told me to call my bank and didn't seem to care. I had to reiterate many times that there were people who were flying out the same day on a stolen credit card, didn't they want to know this information?

Apparently LATAM doesn't care, or bother to check that the credit card is/was active, as I've been receiving surveys all day today from them, directed to these passengers, asking how the flights were.

It's disgusting that they would let this slip by.

Their Website is a Scam

I had to change my tickets for family reasons and did the process online. I followed their instructions to the letter, which told me to look for the exact same route (same airports and times) as my original ticket and that if the 23kgs bags I purchased weren't moved with the changes, they would refund me them. Their website then gave me 12 options of flights, but I was told to look for the route. I found the exact route, paid for the changes. My bags weren't added to my new ticket. Days when by, so I complained. They told me I made a mistake online and booked the wrong tickets and they wouldn't add my bags to my ticket, I would have to pay for them again. So I asked to put a formal complaint in. They didn't even bother to acknowledge my complaint. When I called them to ask about a response they answer was "what for? The answer won't change." They are not part of the ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) in the UK and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) has limited power over them, so basically there is nobody you could escalate this to. So now I have to pay £68 for bags I had already paid for on top of the £235 I already paid to change my flights, or leave my stuff in the UK. I will never fly with them again.

LATAM lost my suitcase

LATAM lost my suitcase, and their customer service did absolutely nothing to help me find it. No clear answers, no support – just endless excuses. And every time I called, everyone was suddenly named "Garcia" or had the exact same voice, like I was talking to the same person over and over again.

Then the worst part: My flight was canceled without any warning, and I only found out during my layover. No email, no notification – nothing! And to top it off, they told me I had to pay 1,000 CHF, or I wouldn’t be allowed to fly! Total scam and absolutely unacceptable.

This airline is unreliable and disrespectful – never flying LATAM again!

Appalling service avoid at all. Costs.

Appalling service, delayed flights due to 'weather' airline did not provide any replacement flights or additional service on the route.

Next available flights were over 48h later.
600 USD of additional charges which the airline refused to pay, as they essentially do not care, the option we were given was rebook whenever there is space or a refund.

Customer service did not respond in a satisfactory Manor and certainly did not seem to care.

It is very clear why this airline barely achieves 1 star, use a budget alternative, your bank account and sanity will thank you for it.

Avoid if you can

Unfortunately, this is the only airline which can be used in some countries; however, if you can avoid using them, do so. We had to cancel a trip due to an unforeseen medical situation (surgery and hospitalization) and yet somehow, they declined the medical and did not allow for the cost of the ticket to be put towards the re-issue of another. Terrible customer service and no inclination to help sort it out. They defer to the travel agency and the travel agency, Go To Gate, defers to them as being the source of the issue, only one who has authority on the ticket. You can't get a transcript of the call to have something in writing to then take to the agency to sort out the conflicting information received, despite all calls being recorded. Incredibly frustrating and a huge waste of time trying to sort out, with no positive outcome, except for them, who likely got paid twice for the seats we had to cancel due to being medically precluded from flying.

The worse airline I've ever…

The worse airline I've ever experienced, apparently this is a known fact LATAM is a problem airline. They do not care about their customers, they delay, delay, delay, and then cancel your flights, with often trying to resale you tickets or make you pay extra money on something even if is due to them over booking, not having actual flights available. Is like they book fake flight to get payments coming in but then they automatically or magical end up being cancel on a constant bases. When you call their customer support on the phone they will treat you with major disrespect and hang up on you. They mostly know and understand the nature of the calls and work on avoiding you completely. Ran into 2 flight that were left waiting 5 hours without letting them know what was going on and then had then deplane and sleep on the floor of the Airport. While the other airlines like American airlines also had issues but booked hotel rooms for their clients.

Dishonest unethical airline ever dealt with

The worst airline I've dealt with traveling different countries. This airline is such a scam and a shame. They keep changing the flight details even up to hours before the departure time. Then although I had purchased baggage prior online, the agents keep hassling me at multiple check points that I didn't pay for me carry on. Come on, what's going on here! They are such an Operational nightmare. They are also the rudest agents I've dealt with not being able to provide consistent information and the customer has to bare their stupid mistakes. Our flight was from Canada to Lima and when we arrived at the Canadian airport we were told the ticket didn't exist. That is crazy. Was on the phone back and forth spent over 5 hours on the phone overall with LATAM. Initially they kept blaming other airlines (connecting flights) but finally admitted the mistake was on their end when the other airlines told us the consistent information. We ended up missing our first flight. And eventhough the next flight was available, LATAM refused to rebook us saying it will take 24 hours for this to be escalated and they couldn't guarantee we can get a different ticket. Refused to refund us. At the end, ended up costing us over $2000 to rebook the alternative flight ourselves. Scam scam scam. How is the Chilean government allowing this kind of business to operate internationally? Shame on you LATAM.

Living in Chile and flying to Lima and…

Living in Chile and flying to Lima and other Peruvian locations regularly I have had many bad experiences and the very occasional good one.
Overall, they well and truly deserve a 1 out of 5 rating - they go out of their way to earn it!
Most recent experience is a codeshare return flight from Australia which will honor any QANTAS privileges that I have - if they have space on the plane.
As it is a duopoly route there is little chance that any honoring will be available, offered, or applied.
When trying to get this information the first customer service individual cut me off.
The second attempt got a female who was more useful for the introduction but quickly reverted to LATAM form - total lack of service or assistance.

The service was horrible

As everyone can see Latam is far away from being a good Airline company with customer service.
I traveled from Santiago de Chile to Argentina on 09th March, I arrived at the Aeroport at 11:10 am the flight was at 12:40 but the Latam staff told me the flight had closed at 11:00 am but they did not care about it they were rude.
This is not a cheap flight however l have to pay for the next connection, so I had to sit and watch the flight I should take, take off.
The service was horrible

An imposition and unacceptable.

The flight from Sao Paulo to Frankfurt was an absolute no-go. I had paid an upgrade for an emergency exit seat weeks before my flight. At the gate, I was told that since I am 63 years old, this was not allowed under Brazilian law. Apart from the fact that this information could have been given at the time of booking, I received a much too narrow seat, which is absolutely unacceptable with my height (about 2 m). This is a form of age discrimination that has never happened to me in my entire life, especially since I am constitutionally far fitter than most obese 20-year-olds.

LATAM cancels flights when they have a low booking. If you don’t check your emails every 30 minutes, you will not recognize it, because they don’t announce it and nobody of their groundstaff speaks English. You have to pick up your luggage and check in again for a later flight. If you have a international connection in São Paulo, you will miss your flight. This happens now the second time with me.

Refused to take responsibility of delayed baggage that took 7 days to get to me.
No compassion, not at all friendly, no care at all.

This airline is terrible and the "customer service" a pure scam. I am waiting for compensation for over half a year now and after I now finally was able to give them my bank details for actual compensation, they now try to scam me yet again with their "Latam Wallet" , which does not work. All in all they are operating in such an inefficient, confusing and unhelpful way to make the customers give up claiming their compensation.

Latam Airline has a terrible service

Latam Airline has a terrible service. I wait since a week to get technical support for creating my latam account. i am not able to create it because of technical issues in the backend of the website. I phoned with several service employees in the first level support but they always say "wait for the next 48 hours" to get a solution. Nothing come back... I'm very annoyed of this airline😡

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever! On 7th July 2022 I booked a flight ticket on the website of LATAM Airline from Punta Arenas to Santiago de Chile.

The purchasing process went through until payment was made with credit card, but a problem occurred after payment and the website crashed. I did not received any confirmation email or reservation code until now, although the full ticket price was already debited.

I contacted the customer service and they said they could not identify any purchase order from me and closed my claim case right away. As to my money refund request, still no answer after two weeks.

Hopefully I can get the money back though the credit card institute, otherwise I don't know how!

Keep away from LATAM or you will be stolen!

Worse flight company that I have dealt with, called their customer service for months trying to sort out date changes, every time you get a different explanation, line goes dead, someone changes your ticket with a mistake, none gets back to you in any social media, live chat or anything. They shouldn’t be allowed to operate in Europe. Will raise my issues with Ombudsman service and my credit card. Have been charged for luggages and seats and both services not available on my flight tickets after change of dates.
