Do not do business with Kennards Self Storage if you value your privacy or basic accountability.

I vacated my units in December 2025 and paid through to the end of that month, notifying both the storage site and head office multiple times. Despite this, they continued charging me as if the account was still active, with repeated payment demands.

When I raised a legitimate dispute, staff were rude and extremely unprofessional. Instead of resolving the issue, they escalated it by contacting third parties for payment who have no connection to the account and were never authorised. My personal and account information was discussed without consent.

This is not a minor administrative error. It is a serious failure in both process and privacy.

I have stores ny things with this branch and they are awesome in terms of service. The old lift is an issue, but its good dry clean storage,eell located and very helpful staff.

Unprofessional, accusatory, and disrespectful.

I submitted an online quote request to Kennards Mayfield, which automatically placed a temporary hold on a unit. I cancelled the hold shortly after selecting a more suitable location — no payment made, no contract signed, and no prior dealings with the centre.

I then received an abrupt email informing me that my reservation was cancelled because I was a “delinquent customer twice.” This is entirely false — I have never used their services before. The quote was one of several obtained at my insurer’s request, who is covering the cost.

They also misspelled my name in the message, and no apology or explanation was provided when I asked for clarification. The silence since has only reinforced their lack of professionalism.

There are plenty of higher quality storage facilities around Newcastle with better offerings, more competitive pricing, and staff who treat people with basic respect. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
