Newer use credit card in this web shop

At A. Krüss Optronic)
I ordered 9. of may 2010 a microscope KW8000 (price 2.754 Euro, equal to dKR 18.754,68) from their web-shop.
Coming to the payment-process, there were many different ways to pay – including ”in advance”. I preferred – of course – to use my credit-card, since the laws in all of europe ensure security for the buyer: Payment is NOT drawn before the ordered goods are actually delivered. And all due claims (goods are defect/not deliveren) are 100% the cost of SELLER.
So I used my credit-card to pay the microscope from Krüss, and since the homepage called itself a web-shop, the laws of e-trade outlaws any limitations of the rights of buyer – no matter what seller claims!

When I checked my bank-account, I was very surprised to see that full payment was drawn SAME DAY as the order, which of course is illegal. And I sent immediately a mail to the firm to ask for documentation of delivery. The firm answered that the usual shipment time (4-6 weeks) was delayed due to unforeseen problems with delivery of spare parts. NO comments about the illegal money transaction!! NO actual day of delivery!!

I answered – by mail – that I wanted my money back immediately. Had to send some reminders before I got a written promise that my money was on the way. By the end of June – more than a month from date of order – my money MINUS a transaction fee of 10 dKR was back on my bank account.

SUMMARY: The quality of the microscopes from Krüss seems very high, and old firma like that use to demand pay in advance from net customers. But the very second payment is made by credit cards, laws of e-trade are in function. Krüss is evidently NOT willing to follow these laws, which is a shame.

I will NEVER again contact the firm and hereby warn other possible customers against paying with credit cards.
