Favoritism

I was once happy with Kingston vets service i paid into the pet health scheme for 12 years . This was for the flea worm & annual inoculation. I used pdsa for her heart medication as being a pensioner could not afford kingston vets prices.
my beautiful pooch passed away last July aged 18 I got no letter sending condolences from them😡 i would not have given a second thought untill my relative who paid big amounts for treatments given by Kingston vets she received a card with condolences so if your paying to see the vet you get special treatment 😡

Absolutely disgusted with this practice…

Absolutely disgusted with this practice After being a loyal customer for 14+ years they have become a money grabbing bunch. Quoted one price then charged 3 times the amount. Drag out treatment with unnecessary follow ups and demanding testing that I found out is totally unnecessary according to UK standards. Will not be going back

Rabbit aftercare treatment

My grand daughter had to have her rabbit undergo an operation due to spike growing on its molars. Kingston vets did the operation abd gave him the all clear although it was a different vet that saw him each time. She was concerned 2 days later as he wasn't eating so contacted the vets who said she would have to bring him in to be seen, they said they didn't know what the problem was and maybe he should be seen by an expert in York then to make matters worse they then told her she needed to pay £200 for the consultation that it what i call profiteering as she paid for the operation and the medication for his aftercare.i am totally disgusted with Kingston vetsxand will be taking our pets to another vets in the future and would recommend other people do the same as they are all cheaper than Kingston vets. They have no compassion at all and are so disrespectful especially to a young girl who cannot afford there prices and who obviously thought they would see her rabbit for free seen as though they had carried out the operation only a week before. People be aware of the extortionate prices they charge.

Terrible vets…

Took my 8 yr old pug as he had a bad leg......he had 4 appointments everytime seeing a different vet..the first app without a proper examination i was told to be prepared to b cruel to be kind....after health checks it was decided my pug needed 2 teeth out.booked him in for the extraction.when I picked him up I was told they had took 21 teeth out......without my consent....the next day he was rushed back to the vets with a massive ear infection.......so bad his lobe was stuck together...the next day I realised he could no longer see......his sight was perfectly fine before the vets took his teeth out.....4 vets looked at him and never said his eyes were failing...now my cherished dog has got half his life in darkness thanks to neglect. I have emailed them 3 weeks ago.and they have not even had the decency to contact me. The lovely vet we followed here modesta has left....he really cared about the animals now it's all about money . We will never go back

Trust pilot firstly give a minus…

Trust pilot firstly give a minus option. My real score is minus 100%. I took my great dane with a torn skin tag so it was only connected to her body buy a few millimeters. They cut it off used a little anesthestic and approx 3 stitches and took max 15 minutes. Yes she is a big dog but this treatment cost £1033 so they are working on £4k an hour!!!!!!! Wish my doctor son earnt that. The staff seemed miserable then I bought flea and worming tablets £200 just checked on line they cost £100.50 and I assume vets get discounts but if they don't 100% profit is so greedy. Then finally I was called by a women trying to sell some annual check up for £36 per month and I politely told her to go away. Please stay away from these money grabbing creatures. There is an independent vet at Driffield and Bridlington called Aldgate vets please go to them i know it's a long drive but they are all lovely especially the vet I saw called Giles but you will thank me. Great service and reasonably priced. Stay away from these evil people 🤬😈😡👹👺

Avoid Cottingham Road practise

14 years of fantastic service from the Beverley Road branch, 1 visit to the Cottingham branch and vet Barbara Wynn has what I can only describe as AWFUL people skills! I could go in to more detail but then the review may not get posted but I left there having zero confidence in her ‘diagnostic’ and rebooking to visit another branch for actual professional and trustworthy advice. She didn’t listen to my answers and basically getting me to diagnose my dog - I’m not the qualified professional?! Please AVOID Cottingham Branch if you have an appointment with this person.

Broken Hearted then billed

Broken Hearted. We lost a Massive member of our family at the age of 3 years old he was fully insured and raised a large bill over 8k through operations etc and if i am honest the staff and the Vets did a good job.

However i revived a bill from the Kingston asking me to pay over £1600 for him being over 4 years old and i had to pay 20%? apparently it is in my insurance as a clause. As you can imaging after losing a 70kg dog at such a young age hurt the family a lot then to receive a bill that you was not expecting was a shock and made the pain worse.

on investigation of my policy the bill was incorrect i owed nothing? we lost him at the age of 3 years old not 4 also my policy stated that it was only 10% at the age of 4 and 20% at the age of 6? so i had to email my policy highlight the areas where it stated the ages to prove that the bill was incorrect we owed nothing. Then i was asked to get my insurance to haste the payment as they are not willing to wait the backlog.

Why as a customer for over 9 years never owing any money would i be asked for a £1600 invoice that needed to be paid in 7 days before getting a late payment fees when we are fully insured and all excess was paid?

I think i will be looking for a new vets as customers we should not be treated like that.

Didn’t feel welcomed at their Anlaby…

Didn’t feel welcomed at their Anlaby practice at all. I had my toddler and pram with me and was struggling to get it through their front door due to it being so narrow and having a steep step. I put my puppy on the floor so I could hold my toddlers hand so he didn’t run off into the middle of the road and the lady working there shouted at me for doing so. I won’t be going there again and will be cancelling my membership after the year. I don’t think one member of staff smiled when I was in there.

Kingston vets crazy dental procedure

My family have used Kingston vets for years. The price has been going up constantly in the last few years. £67 for a consultation which is over £20 more than other vets in the area.

My poor dog needed teeth removed, they said they needed to do 2 procedures. The first bloods, X-ray and clean under anaesthetic -£840. Brought my pug round and told me she needed all teeth removing asap a further £2300. Why clean teeth that will be removed in a couple of weeks?

Went to vets4pets £46 consultation. £860 to complete all of the above procedures.

No one understands the two part procedure Kingston vets complete. Poor dogs going through it twice for no reason.

Shame on Kingston vets.

DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE

Took my both little dogs for their yearly boosters and check up.I didnt have to pay because iam in with pet health plan.Which is £21.00 a mouth each dog,Which covers all this.I Told the nurse I think my dog got a ear infection.she took him in the back to have a look came back said yes I was right. Then next thing she said he will need medication she told me the price then said about the charge for them to have alook which was £68.00 I was so annoyed has this was not mentioned at the time. The vet just wanted money of you it felt like adding it all up telling me how much things were. She also said she would want to see him again which cost again.I told her its her fault i should not have to pay this.I thought this was cover with the check up to have a quick second look in his ear.Nurse went away came back and said that they are happy to wave this off for me because she got told she should had said this to me at the start so she said to do this she can give him his booster what he came in for.Came away went to a pets at home and got him some ear medication.Iam going to cancel my pet health club and go to a different vets from now on.

Money grabbing

Money grabbing. They lied to me. They charged me £10.15 for a collar they claimed my dog used in their care, which I knew wasn’t true. So after paying, I decided to cancel. Despite being a customer for years, when I canceled a few months ago, my account was closed and direct debits stopped.

Now, I’ve just received an email stating I owe £226.51 because apparently, you can’t cancel halfway through the year. First I’ve heard of it. From that first email, they are only giving me 14 days to pay before increasing it by 14% and sending it to a debt collector.

Appalling Client Service.

We have been with this practice for over 13 years with our three Dachshunds, and previously rated them five stars.

However, following our last two visits we now give them a One Star rating, for appalling customer service. During a six month paid healthcare plan appointment (now conducted by a nurse- not a vet as previous) we asked for repeat medication she has been prescribed for years. We were told that she had to be seen by a vet next door when available between other clients , and an appointment fee of £67.00 would be applicable. We decided to wait until seeing a vet at her booster renewal.

The straw that broke the camels back - happened earlier this month. Our 13 year old with an existing condition became very tired, we made an appointment and the vet advised euthanasia there and then to prevent any further suffering.
This came as a shock, but was the only option given for the sake of our gorgeous faithful little girl.

The vet was professional, if a little unemotional, and asked if the nurse could come into the room and take payment before carrying out the procedure - to save going back to reception. In a state of shock at imminent loss of our girl, we agreed and payment was taken.

She then carried out the injection, and Lara passed to meet her former playmates at the Rainbow Bridge. We called Chapel Moor Pet Crematorium when outside and they collected and returned her ashes to us in 24 hours.

This practice appears to be more financially motivated than customer focused now unfortunately. To ask for payment prior to carrying out the procedure was totally heartless, insensitive and inappropriate.

Previously in this same situation we have received an invoice days after the treatment which has been paid on receipt.

Kingston Vets are the losers, after 13 years we have now moved to an alternative vets practice.

Zero Compassion

We sadly had to have our cat put to sleep. The compassion showed by the staff at Park street was zero. From my initial call with the reception staff through to the consultation with the vet, there was a complete lack of caring. Insisting I pay there and then and placing the card machine next to my dead cat just shows what their priorities are. I’ve used this vets for over 20 years but never again.

Very poor service advertise they are OV…

Very poor service advertise they are OV )official vets) but do not comply with the requirements or required practice of the duty of an OV
Neither do they bother to facilitate the protection of international travel of pets
Spoke to a very condescending vet who gave alot of misinformation
Only provide what suits themselves and not the animal

Bullies

Bullies, and scare mongering it's all about money. I had been with this vets for a lot of years and didn't have any problems until now. We took one of dogs in a couple of months ago for an abscess and she was given medication for her (which I pay for) . Unfortunately it came back so had to go back to the vets for same medication, but the vets said she can give me the medication for her again, but probably she will need an x-ray which will cost over £500 ( which I would have happy to pay for) then she will probably need to have teeth out which could cost up to £2000 plus , which I would have been happy to pay until she (the vet) said, but they is a risk the She may not survive the anaesthetic with her being an old dog, so I said I don't want her to have this done as I I didn't want her to lose her or put her at risk and could she just carry on having the medication She has been having which has been working, but no this vet was having none of it, and her response was well I have a duty of care and if you don't have this procedure done I will report you to rspc a for neglect I was in shock I said if I was neglecting her I would have never have brought her here in the first place, her words were am not judging you, but you need to go home and think about it. I've never neglected any of my dogs and never would they are our babies. So I said to her if you report me what would they do she said they would take her of me and they would have her put to sleep (and that's a vet duty of care for you) I was so upset I was in tears when I left , so either way she would have be at risk either not waking up from the anaesthetic or being put sleep if she reported me, the vet was awful they was no sympathy at all I came out of there in tears. She was threatening / bullying us into something we didn't want to do, I just couldn't believe what she was saying to us. We came home so upset. Luckily I know someone who works for rscpa and they wouldn't just put a dog down for that reason. And am now looking into reporting her. We are now in the process of changing vets. There don't even deserve 1 star in my opinion.
