KINGSTON MORTGAGE SERVICES AWFUL

KINGSTON MORTGAGE SERVICES REVIEW
The last few months have been an absolute nightmare for me and my wife due to the gross negligence and incompetence of James Poore of Kingston Mortgage Services.
Because of his negligence and incompetence we’ve had to pay thousands of pounds in interest charges to the mortgage lenders completely unnecessarily.
Firstly, 4 months before my old fixed mortgage was due to finish, James informed me of a product with The Mortgage Works which had an interest rate of 3.92% and importantly had FREE LEGAL SERVICES. I thought this was a good deal and agreed to proceed.
One week before we were supposed to complete on the new mortgage, James informed me that the legal fees were in fact NOT included and I would have to pay £2400 to solicitors. I was obviously shocked and dismayed and asked him why. He initially tried blaming the mortgage lender( The Mortgage Works), saying they hadn’t informed him. Only when I checked with the lender and they sent me a letter confirming they had informed James 3 months ago that the legal fees were NOT free that James finally admitted it was his fault for missing that crucial information and he agreed to pay the legal fees.
The problem is that because I was only informed that I would need to engage solicitors one week before completing and it took 5 weeks to complete the legal work, my old mortgage with Birmingham Midshires went onto their Standard Variable Rate of 8%, meaning that I had to pay £3294 in EXTRA interest payments. Had James told me that I had to engage my own solicitors 3 months ago when he was informed, we would have completed on time( easily), and I wouldn’t have had to pay the extra £3294.
Secondly, James wrongly advised me about how much I would need to pay off my old mortgage. His miscalculation and general negligence mentioned previously has led me and my wife to endure a lot unnecessary stress and sleepless nights.
Why I think this is deplorable behaviour by Kingston Mortgages Services (represented by James Poore), is firstly, they are refusing to refund me the total amount of the extra, unnecessary interest payments, which is morally and ethically wrong, because they’ve already admitted liability and paid me back the legal fees, but secondly, there’s been no apology for the catastrophic mistake James made.
Kingston Mortgages received thousands of pounds in commission fees from the mortgage lenders so we, as their customers have a right to expect expert, reliable and accurate advice.
So, unless you want to lose thousands of pounds of your hard earned money, I would extremely strongly advise you NOT to use Kingston Mortgage Services.
