Disappointing Customer Service and Unresolved Product Fault
I’ve been a loyal Birkenstock customer for years, purchasing 3 pairs (In 1 transaction) more recently, including a pair of Birkenstock EVA sandals from Junkyard. Unfortunately, my experience with Junkyard has been nothing short of frustrating.
Soon after purchasing, I noticed that the Boston Black EVA had shrunk two sizes after minimal exposure to poolside conditions—something I’ve never experienced with my other Birkenstocks. Despite following all the necessary steps, providing pictures, and explaining that other pairs exposed to the same environment didn’t shrink, Junkyard continuously denied that the issue was a product fault.
After almost three months of back-and-forth communication, they finally offered a 30% refund—hardly a reasonable solution considering the product was now unusable. They did offer a full refund if I returned the sandals, but by the time they responded after 1 month thinking I wouldn't get anything, I had already given them away due to their lack of response (Also that they kept saying it wasn't a product fault). The sandals had shrunk by two sizes, making them unwearable.
While I accepted the partial refund to close this lengthy process, the outcome was extremely disappointing. For a company selling premium brands like Birkenstock, I would expect much better customer service and a more timely, fair resolution. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing from Junkyard, especially if you value proper / timely customer care and support in resolving product defects.
Bad sizing - won't refund

Amateurs or incompetents?
Ordered a pair of shoes, received a sweatshirt.
Informed their CS dpt immediately by email (mail[at]junkyard.com), as they don't share their phone numbers.
Sent pictures, order nr and the likes.
Reply the next day:
"Could you please take a few picture of the products that arrived and send them in a reply to us. We will of course solve this issue in a timely manner."
To which I replied that same day:
"There are 2 pictures attached in my previous email.
Do you need more?
How about my own items?
One of them is getting low in stock already."
And that's it.
My next reminders were ignored. No further communication with them until I finally dug up some phone nr* online and called.
I was told to send back the wrong order to them (my loss to take the parcel back to the only UPS office in my country), which I did.
By then ofc, the product I wanted had run out.
So much for the "timely manner" when they ignore your messages (and their ****-ups at the same time).
Their order tracking within warehouse is as bad as it comes:
- Had I received a different size or even a different pair of shoes, I'd have kind of understand. But a totally different product is laughable.
- They couldn't tell whose order I had received, if they had swapped orders w/ someone else or what ("Unfortunately we are not able to send back the specific order, but hopefully you will find the items back in stock soon, if the order was sent to someone else.[...] It is how our system works.")
Screw you, Junkyard.

Fraud company
I think they are somehow a fraud company. They don't offer a receipt and the customer support is the worst.
I will return the product and hope they will return the money.
Anyway, be careful and think twice before you buy from them!!
This is the First time ordering…
This is the First time ordering something and I didnt get any emails of confirmation or anything. they took the money out so Hope I get my shirt hope but will never order from here again
World's worst packaging!
After my first negative experience, I decided to order once more to see if the packaging had improved as they promised after the first time. Unfortunately, this was not the case. It was even worse this time, without any form of protection to protect the expensive books in my order. The books arrived damaged again. If packaging would be better I would order much more from this site, but now I just go somewhere else.
Never replies to customer requests
They've never replied to any of my customer requests, no matter on what channel - I've contacted them on Insta, via Facebook as well as email in two different matters already. Not one single reply. They are clearly not very business driven which is a shame as they have nice stuff!
