A disappointing customer service…
A disappointing customer service experience. I booked a time to discuss travel packages with the owner of the company/sales rep at Japan Package Tours in Melbourne. At first I received a friendly and enthusiastic welcome, and the general sales tactics,as you would expect. After discussing where I wanted to go and drafting a rough itenarary. I was asked about my budget, once making it known that I had a strict budget and were wanting to seek out cheaper airfares. The sales rep/company owner appeared to lose interest. I say this because the owner/sales reps body language had changed, enthusiasm dimished and the sales rep requested that if I want to look for cheaper airfares that I can look for them, as he doesn't get anything from booking flights for customers. However, my understanding is that the sales rep/owner books flights for other customers. Furthermore, still feeling excited and having every intention to book. I sent two follow up email with a question to find that my email wasn't responded to in a timely manner. I had to contact the owner/sales rep to make sure my email had infact gone threw. I began to have concerns with the lack of communication and respectfully voiced this concern. As, if I happened to be stuck and needed that communication I would worry due to the lack of response now that that would only continue. To my very disappointment, the owner/sales rep politely said that I am welcome to look else where. This confirmed in my mind that I wasn't a valued customer for what ever reason. I can make speculations that is because of my budget , but I don't know. It just feels unprofessional and extremely disappointing. I don't like supporting businesses who clearly are biased and don't value their customers. Thus, why I can not recommend going through Japan Package Tours in Melbourne. I just want others to be aware if they have low budgets like myself that this is probably not the place for you.
