Service so far is excellent. It works well and I have had it for years. It is not stagnant. It is always being updated - optional too. Best gallery app out there!

For me, this is the leading program for creating online photo albums offline on my PC. Extensive features, easy to use, and continuous development. Particularly commendable: it's also available for Linux.

I had not used J Album for some years and managed to get chatting for help. It was really good and I got te newer version. My old skin did not seem to work but I found a new skin that was OK.

I don't like you often change GUI, so I have to looking for some settings I previusly finf it at another place in GUI.

Many options available to make a personal statement with your photo albums.

Since the last update not all the album picture icons are showing. I'm not able to find a solution for this. I'm using template PhotoBlogger.

Trustworthy company, great software that is easy to use and still very professional. Had this software for years already and intend on keeping it.

Generally easy to use and lots of features. Often good ideas for further development. And unbeatable, fast, competent support.

The software allows groups of photographs to be assembled into albums that can be shown on a website. I have used it to show collections of pictures on my own website.

There are many ways to share photos today and I use many of them, depending on the application case. For some of these cases I use jAlbum. There might be a couple of years until I need jAlbum again. So for me it makes no sense to use any subscription. An if I need an update, I purchase an update or a new license.
In the last black week I needed such an update. Originally I wanted to renew my old license, but then I discovered that the black week offer for a completely new license was the better deal.
During the purchasing process I selected the permanent license and went to the next step. There the box for an automated yearly renewal was already ticked. I removed the tick an got an error-like popup message with the warning, I removed the subscription, because that would really be better. I insisted on a purchase without subscription ans payed via Paypal.
In the PayPal confirmation I saw now, that I did a payment for a subscription!
I also received a ///FastSpring confirmation mail: “Your subscription has successfully been activated”.
That is not OK! And probably not caused by the developers, but by the company that receive the payments for the developers (///FastSpring).
My first action was to cancel the subscription in PayPal (as the first license payment was booked). And after that I addressed the jAlbum support mail address and asked for my subscription status. Promptly I received the confirmation, that I really only purchased the lifetime license without automated renewal.
But still I think it is not customer friendly and also takes time from the support (or even developers) to answer the support request.
Now to jAlbum itself: I like possibilities and several skins the product offers. It is also good to see a preview and make adjustments fast, if some details must be changed. Also the switch between skins and the upload to the final web server are fine.
Sometimes I must go through all menus and settings in jAlbum, before I find the setting, I want to adjust. There are many possibilities – which is fine, but for my brain the way to find the setting is not always logically.
