Took my Samsung S24 Ultra to the Ismash branch on Bull St in Birmingham. The rep gave an exceptional service. I was struggling to back up my phone and expressed to him that my mums 80th birthday, my a... See more

Lack of expertise and abysmal customer service
Took my phone to the Leicester highcross branch having been a loyal customer since 5 years ago with the use of the brilliant branches in Cribbs Mall Bristol before moving to Leicester.
Back in October, I took my iPhone 12 in to replace the battery. This was done well, but unfortunately my FaceID seized to no longer work after the battery replacement.
I took it back in and the store accepted fault and tried to fix it in store to no success.
Working in hospitality I understood mistakes happen and no one is perfect so when they said they needed to send it to the level 3 technician I accepted this with no up roar but just a little disappointment that I’d be without my phone for a few days.
However these few days ended up being 2 weeks due to delivery issues according to the staff. My phone was returned and working as it was before my battery change in one for my 3 week holiday.
Fast forward to the week of the 26th of January, the same issues arose again. I called up and went in and once again they tried in store to fix it to not prevail again so again they need to send it off.
However, this time they need to check if no liquid from my part caused this reoccurrence. With certainty there wasn’t, I allowed them the 30 mins to check it thorough before sending it off.
I returned to be told that all was well and they sent it off on Friday the 30th.
I was then emailed on the 3rd of February to be told that the level 3 tech found moisture which wasn’t detected when the phone sent out leaving me skeptical as to how this has happened.
As a result, I was disappointed to read that I would need to pay £72 for this different part that’s been damaged by moisture knowing it made no contact with water in my care which was the confirmation when it was sent out. Otherwise, if they found it with moisture the day they checked, I would’ve never sent it off.
I replied my displeasure to the Highcross branch email that sent me this and Steve Howard who I think is the manager personally replied. To explain why it came to this.
It was clear we were not going to reach an understanding so in an email response to him on February the 5th at 14:32, I requested the phone be sent back as I was no longer using their services because it all started with their error and now blame is being shifted onto me for moisture that wasn’t found the day it was sent back.
Rang them 4-6 days later expecting my phone to be able to be picked up on the day. Steve then started claiming he never received the email which is a flat out lie as it sent. He then doubled back to claim the store had systems situation being done that time last week meaning it may have not got to him which I find hard to believe to be honest.
He then told me only today that he’ll instruct the technician to send it back. This of course meant I waited another 2 weeks more for my phone due to his incompetence.
Lasting relationships with customers is nonsense u til they mess up and fail to take accountability for their errors.
Mistakes happen but the way this Leicester branch has carried itself from expertise to to be trusted to repair to duration of time without my phone and capped of with the manager Steve’s incompetence to not even be able to request phone back a whole week later after I requested it to be capped off an abysmal experience with this place.
They are a let down to their other great stores I’ve used in the 2 in Bristol. Don’t expect any quality expertise every visit. They mess it up at some point and take no accountability for it. Use their services at your own risk for sure.
Top Notch Service
I took my iPad in for a new battery replacement and was served by Kane’s. Even though I was the last customer of the day, I was greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome.
He took all my details and carefully noted the reason for the repair, assuring me that I would be contacted once it was completed. The battery was replaced promptly, and I received a call the following day to collect my iPad.
Excellent, friendly, and efficient service — I would definitely use them again. The London Bridge branch was great.

Absolutely outstanding repair
Absolutely outstanding repair! Quick efficient and reliable. Will also purchase my next reconditioned phone there. Friendly staff and was able to book appointment easily. This was done through my phone insurance that I have with Monzo
Professional Service
Professional Service. I had my Samsung S 24 Ultra front screen replace within two hours from drop off to pick up. Very pleased with my experience.
Easy to book and quick service

No sale - but great honest service
I went in with a malfunctioning iPhone SE Original and got an honest answer that from my description of the issues, and the age of my phone, it just wasn't worth spending money on a fix. He offered to sell me a more recent refurbished model at what felt like a very good price, but didn't pressurise me at all and sent me down the road to the Three shop.
Pixel battery replacement
Had to have battery replaced on a Pixel phone due to recall. Seamless excellent service provided.
Unexpected Charges and Disappointing Service
(Bristol branch)
Terrible service.
I booked online for a Samsung battery replacement as mine had expanded and was pushing out of the case. The quoted price was £65, which seemed reasonable compared to buying a new phone.
When I arrived, I was told the back of the phone also needed replacing due to a crack. I asked how much and was told £10. I was informed the repair would take around 3 hours and that I would be called when it was ready.
I didn’t receive a call, so I rang them myself and was then told no one had said they would call me!
When I went to pay, the bill came to £109. I was charged £49 for the rear housing, not the £10 I had been told. When I questioned this, the response was dismissive and quite rude, and I was told there was no record of anyone quoting £10.
I did leave with a working phone, but the lack of transparency and poor customer service were disappointing. I’ve learned not to assume and to double-check everything. If you use this service, make sure you confirm all costs clearly before agreeing to any work.
3rd visit to Ismash in Bgham city centre.
10/10. 3rd visit to iSmash in bBgham city centre!!! Can’t recommend. The services enough. Had my son’s iPhone 12 Pro Max cracked screen replaced. Communication was great, service was quick. My No.1 man for any iPhone issues.
Highly recommend the Leeds store
Highly recommend the Leeds store. Though some confusion as to when it would be ready, more my fault than these guys, iPad cracked screen replaced and screen protector added within 24 hours. Fantastic service and a pleasure to talk to. Bit that really made the difference, there was a chap in front of me who was obviously distressed as he couldnt get into his phone, lad behind the counter fixed it within minutes and wouldnt accept payment, just pleased he could help out. You dont get that kind of service anymore from most stores. So well done iSmash Leeds you made 2 people much happier on a miserable Sunday

Great Service
Quick and easy appointment, battery replaced free of charge for known fault and new screen protector provided. Excellent service.
Replacement batteries for older iPhones
My wife and I both had older iPhones which needed new batteries. Spoke to the Apple Store but they no longer changed batteries for these phones. Booked appointments on line with ismash Birmingham and went to the store. Adrian explained that they were able to replace the batteries but they would not be apple ones. After a short wait the batteries were replaced and now work fine and with a twelve month warranty. Costs were very reasonable
I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience at iSmash today.
I booked my appointment online because my iPhone had a charging port issue. Since there was no specific option for charging port repair during booking, I selected “battery issue” and clearly mentioned in the comments that my problem was with the charging port, not the battery.
When I arrived at the store, I again clearly explained to the staff member that I did NOT have a battery issue and asked him to check the comments in my booking. He confirmed this and told me he would clean the charging port, which would take around 1.5 hours.
However, when I returned to collect my phone, I was charged £69 and informed that the battery had been replaced because my appointment was booked under “battery issue.” This was shocking and unacceptable. I never approved a battery replacement, and my battery health was perfectly fine before the repair.
This feels extremely misleading and unprofessional. Any repair or part replacement should only be done with clear customer consent. I trusted your service, but this experience has left me very disappointed.
Much longer wait than advertised
I booked a repair based upon the 1 hour fix, only to be told it would take 2 hours. When I returned 2 hours later the repair had'nt started and I waited a further 20 minutes.
A simple battery replacement, with the timeslot booked in advance.
The actual repair itself seems fine
Great company, great service
Just had a new screen fitted on my i pad, i was in a bit of a rush, so they did it for me in less than 2 hours and my i pad was like new again. Fantastic service.
Professional and helpful
I travelled to the store in Guildford to get my MacBook Air 13” battery replaced. Staff were polite and helpful. They replaced my battery and gave it a clean. They charged me £129 which I thought was very reasonable because I had seen quotes for up to £500 elsewhere.
