Inadequate Information
Having gone to the Arctic last year and having had a great trip, we decided to go to The Antarctic with the same company. As with the Arctic we booked a year in advance.
On arriving on the ship, The Plancius, we discovered that the activities of kayaking and camping should have been booked in advance. The website shows these activities but does not mention they should be booked in advance. Having sent an urgent email to the agent she replied that as far as she knew there was no camping and kayaking on board The Plancius. Delightful as the agent is, we feel extremely let down and disappointed. This was for us a one only trip to a fabulous part of the world at great expense.
Beware that you do not rely entirely on the agent to know all the details and do your own research as the trips on offer are very different to the run of the mill travel companies and well worth investing in.
