Sri Lanka 9 day premium trip
My daughter and I have just returned from a fantastic 9 day premium trip to Sri Lanka. Our guide Ahmed was the best! He did his best to show us his wonderful country and would always check in that we were having the best time possible. Everyone we met were so friendly and hospitable. The food was amazing! The itinerary was just right. We would definitely use Intrepid again for future trips! I have lots of photos of a wonderful adventure to treasure for a very long time!

Fantastic tour
This whistle-stop tour is fantastic. We got to experience so many wonderful things that we definitely wouldn't have if we hadn't been with the tour. Theung (the trip leader) was amazing and organised everything so well. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great bunch of people in the group too!

Some changes to itinerary due to landslides in December managed well with no impact on travellers.
Food safari with also some animal experiences, as well as cultural experiences - covered almost everything I wanted to know about Sri Lanka.

Vietnam Northbound with Intrepid
Did the 10 day Vietnam Northbound with Intrepid and I
highly recommend this tour. Our guide Ha was just fantastic, fun, organised and knowledgeable. The range of experiences and hotels were well chosen and the pace of the trip was just right, not too rushed and we saw lots of ancient sites, experienced many fun activities and tasted delicious food. Vietnam is a brilliant country in which to travel, we felt safe and welcome in every city and village that we visited.

Great guide
Great guide, chef and driver. They all helped to bond the group. Food was amazing and the driver was so professional and often very poor roads.

Ecuador
I recently went on my eleventh intrepid trip. This was the original trip style to Ecuador Highlands.
The tour was like what the essential information stated. We had a great group, fantastic itinerary and an amazing leader, who was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her country.
I enjoy Intrepid trips, as I belive in their values and the small groups suit me,

Premium Thailand Trip
Very well organised. Great range of interesting activities and sights. Major highlight for me was visiting the Elephant Nature Park. Hotel accommodation was mostly very good , however, hotel breakfasts were sometimes disappointing. Included meals were often westernised watered-down bland local food to please western tourists, this was the most disappointing aspect of this trip.....portion sizes were also not generous.

The thing that made this trip great was the excellent Intrepid leader who gave us a great insight into how India is for young females today and also the wonderful companions I travelled with on the trip , such a great group of women. Beautiful Vietnam with Intrepid Tours
I was on the Suth to North tour of Vietnam, and all I can say is it was absolutely fantastic. I met so many lovely people, and I especially liked the fact that we were only 11. Our tour guide, BB could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable in everything Vietnam.
Probably the thing that impressed me the most was how many experiences we had within a 10-day period. There were so many experiences that we had, I know for a fact I would never have done on my own, especially because I was a Solo Traveler. I would not hesitate to book another tour with Intrepid! Thank you so much for the beautiful memories that I will cherish forever.

Fabulous holiday on the Cambodia…
Fabulous holiday on the Cambodia Adventure trip. Met wonderful people and had the best tour leader I’ve ever experienced. I am just home and still taking in all that we saw and experienced. If you go for the first time you will find it awe inspiring. The temples, the countryside, the food, the people, the brilliant activities both included and optional. It’s one of those rare occasions when you wish you hadn’t been - just so that you could go again for the first time and start it over. It was wonderful.

AVOID INTREPID
On 1/10/2026 my wife and I took a 10 day trip to Costa Rica. The trip was posted as Intrepid Premium, which meant the best itinerary, guide, and hotels. This trip was not anything close to what was promised on the company web site and in company brochures. This trip was advertised as a #2 physical rating meaning, " Some easy physical activities included in your trip. No physical preparation is required" This statement is not even close to being true. A "GENTLE WALK" turned out to be a 3 1/2 hour very strenuous hike and "A TOUR" was a 3 hour plus strenuous hike. The hotels other the the Gran Hotel (which was very good) in San Jose, were very poor. They were dirty, poorly lite, cheap beds and furniture, and in terrible locations. One hotel had no phone, or tv, and the only chair in the room was a cheap plastic chair at the desk. The lobby of that hotel, had an attendant at a folding table, with plastic chairs to set on while you registered. The breakfast area consisted of folding tables and chairs. Not one soft upholstered chair in sight. This hotel required you to walk outside, and down over 100 steps to reach your room, and back up to breakfast. Another hotel reminded me of a 1980"s Motel 6. At one hotel the only electric outlet, to charge a phone was in the bathroom, which was poorly lite, you could hardly see yourself in the mirror. I have only touched the surface here with the problems with this tour. We were deceived into taking this trip by the information provided by the company, which was far from being accurate and correct.

Two great tours by intrepid
Two great tours by intrepid. Two great guide's. Lucky in Vietnam and Minear in Cambodia. Both very knowledgeable, humourous and nothing was too much trouble for them. Lots of interesting facts about their countries. But a special thank you to Michelle in customer care and Tutu the rep in Bangkok. I left my phone in a car that dropped us off at Bangkok airport. Thanks to these two people my phone was found and posted to me in Phuket. We only met Tutu in Bangkok and she went over and above the norm to get the phone to me before I went home. A great way to experience the culture and landscape of New Zealand
The NZ Amplified (Southbound, Basix) trip exceeded my expectations! The itinerary was great, the people in our group were so much fun and our guide, George, was excellent! We were really taken care of. Lots of opportunity to chill if you wanted, or you could do everything that was available. The bus was comfy, hostels were good, and the cultural aspects of the tour were just as meaningful as the spectacular scenery. An unforgettable 3 weeks and worth every penny!
