The guide was excellent, nice balance of history n contemporary information, friendly, helpful n always punctual, as was our driver.
The two hotels were great, rooms, staff, breakfast n pools.

I had a brief opportunity for a holiday and looked and booked in less than 24 hr. I made sure to arrive a few days earlier than the tour started to settle into Sandakan. Very glad I did as I was able to visit the Orangutan and Proboscus monkey sanctuaries as well as walk around Sandakan. We were lucky to have only 8 on the tour, great group, great guide, great trip and would definitely recommend.

For many years, I have chosen to travel with Intrepid Travel, and every journey has reaffirmed why I keep coming back.
What sets Intrepid apart is not only the incredible variety of destinations they offer around the world, but also the heart behind the way they travel. They genuinely support local communities, use local guides and businesses, and create experiences that allow you to truly connect with the people, culture, and traditions of each country.
I especially appreciate their small-group approach. It creates a friendly atmosphere, makes travel more personal, and opens the door to experiences that simply would not be possible with larger tour companies. Rather than just seeing the highlights, you feel immersed in the destination and come away with a much deeper understanding of the country and its people.
Their tour leaders are exceptional—knowledgeable, passionate, organized, and deeply committed to ensuring everyone has the best possible experience. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and they make every traveler feel welcomed, safe, and inspired.
One of the greatest gifts Intrepid has given me is the joy of discovery. Every trip has broadened my perspective, introduced me to wonderful people from around the world, and left me with memories that I will treasure for a lifetime. I always return home with a heart full of gratitude, happiness, and a renewed appreciation for our beautiful world.
If you are looking for authentic travel that combines adventure, cultural immersion, responsible tourism, and unforgettable experiences, I cannot recommend Intrepid Travel highly enough. Traveling with them has enriched my life in ways that are difficult to put into words, and I am already looking forward to my next adventure with them.

I travel with Intrepid since 2007.
That year I went with them to Peru. That trip made me realize that I don't need to wait for somebody to travel with.
I can go solo and I can feel safe and be in the company of like minded people without paying extra.
On that very fist trip I also learned how Interpid operate.
My last trip to Uzbekistan was my 15th with Intrepid and I already book my next one in this year ( and planning another 2 next year).
The one of the very important things for me is that Intrepid really make sure that our money goes to support local communities we visit ( not big international companies).
I also visited few of the places ( or charities) that Intrepid Foundation support and always do some donation.
I loved all my Intrepid guides - they always so knowledgeable and passionate about their countries ( it is so important to have local guide).
With local guide you can so much better understand the country and their people. During my travels with Intrepid I was able to visit many very famous places, but also visited many small communities and saw how local people live.
I always recommend Intrepid to anybody looking for small group adventures travels.

Totally loved my May 2026 travels in Peru and Bolivia with amazingly informed and fun guides who were knowledgeable and proactive. Unfortunately the Bolivian trip was cut short by Intrepid due to the unsafe conditions/protests in Bolivia. A very special thanks to Michelle (Intrepid Customer Care Consultant), who patiently ensured my post trip questions were addressed to my satisfaction. Looking forward to travelling with Intrepid again.

I have just finished two back to back Intrepid trips through Turkey then Greece. Turkey was a “Comfort” standard while Greece was an “Original” trip.
Comfort in Turkey provided hotels closer to the town centre and David, our dedicated driver throughout. Aykut our guide was an exceptional leader!
Original Greece used hotels further out of town and some public transport. Drivers Spiros and Aristea from Tourist Power were excellent for the legs we used private minivans. Our guide Artemis was knowledgeable and accommodating.
I felt all drivers drove safely, all planned activities were of great interest and all hotels were very acceptable. Booking and emails were simple and efficient.
I would definitely use Intrepid again!

Most memorable trip. Super friendly knowledgeable tour guide and lovely to see Morocco with it's interesting scenery and all it's different aspects, including seeing the sunset on the Sahara dunes on camel back.

We had an amazing time in Sri Lanka.. wouldn’t change anything. It was busy but felt like we got to see the real country. Our guide Asa was brilliant and so was our driver Jihan. Too many highlights to name any..

The whole itinerary was well planned. Or cycle guides made sure that we had frequent stops to rehydrate, sometimes with cool ginger beer and odd ice cream.
Loved the encounters with local families for food stops too. Both bike guides looked after us well and made sure all our road crossings were safe. The 2 drivers delivered us and our bikes safely. The accommodation was good and we welcomed the dip in the pool. Our leader Sam was excellent, helpful, knowlegable all with a good sense of humor.

Travelling with Intrepid takes care of the everyday organising leaving more time to look around and take in the experience. While there is a program and some timetables have to be met having a great guide allowed for flexibility and special interests with inside explanations and cultural significance.

Sri Lanka was better than I thought it would be, heaps of Elephants in the national parks, beautiful scearny. amazing beaches. good ruins. It is a great country to visit

Brilliantly designed cycle trip through varied landscapes, architecture, and medinas, taking in all that is Morocco. The pace was moderate - enough to satisfy serious cyclists, but also achievable for the rest of us, with good back up from the team. Our guide was delightful and knowledgable, and looked after us extremely well.

Vietnam Southbound Express - a 10 day whistle stop tour of Vietnam from top to toe. Our tour leader was an amazingly lovely person with an in-depth knowledge of both the geography and historical events of the country. The logistics and organisation of the tour were incredible, accommodation exceeded expectations, the travel experiences were varied and the food was delicious. We will be doing much travel with Intrepid

The trip is amazing in many respects, the star that is missing is due to the road system in Zimbabwe and because of that, couple of days were spent on long bumpy drives with very limited activities. But all the activities that we did were great and the stays were great and the guide and the driver amazing.

My Melbourne tour was incredible our guide was fun professional knowledgeable and kept us all safe! The only change I’d like to see would be allowing more time in each area we stopped as there was time to do that! This was the same for all 5 of my Intrepid tours!

Well organized trip. Hadrian’s Wall was an interesting itinerary. Luggage transfer was seamless. There were a few hiccups at the first hotel. Service was slow, check in was chaos but I haven’t attributed that struggle to the overall review of the trip. Information made available was perfect and the trip met my expectations.

The itinerary for this trip was more remote and "minimal" than I had expected; these locations and the drives and stops along the way are rather stark. It was my intention to see more of Australia after having done the east side 2 years ago, and I did get the lay of the land. There just isn't all that much there to see or do other than boating and snorkeling. I was assuming that if I opted out of a days activities, there would be something else to do but there really isn't. Cell service is minimal to none as well. The guide I had was great and enthusiastic, and did his absolute best to be sure we all were safe, comfortable and having a good time so it was the itinerary itself that was lacking. Given this is the west coast of Australia that's just what you find in that area of the country. Accommodations were fine throughout the itinerary but meal options in some locations were few, again, that goes with the territory. Now I know what that part of the country looks like; there is not a lot of diversity in flora or fauna to be had.
