The Independent Reviews 

The Indy - once a great newspaper, now a rich man's plaything, is surely circling the drain. The editor has clearly lost control and lost interest.

The main problems are:

1. Awful journalism - so many articles have typos, grammatical errors and are just factually wrong. I swear some of the journalists have no formal education at all - they are borderline illiterate; just read the Indy/Life section for five minutes to see what I mean. And mistakes are never corrected - one article had the headline 'asdf' for over a week. Most articles are just grabbed, unattributed, unaltered, unverified, from Twitter and Reddit and whatever random press release got emailed in that day.

2. Awful website - full of intrusive and slow ads (an ad blocker is mandatory), comments can't be edited and fail to post, and now, since a recent 'upgrade', you can't even log in on an iPad or iPhone, and all articles have lost their comments. No kidding. And no-one on the Indy has bothered to fix this.

Even funnier is that the Indy is actually seeking subscribers and contributors. Seriously? Who in their right mind would pay for this?

They seem unable to maintain a functioning website. When I signed up some weeks ago, my comments were not appearing. I reported it and they said they were repairing their site.
After that users found that approximately 2 out of 3 comments did not appear. I started writing a comment, copying it and then trying to post it, and using the copy to repost if it did not appear.
NOW no articles show any comments, and it is possible to leave a comment - this has been the situation for around a week.
Additionally, articles remain on their home page for weeks.
You might hate the actual content, but the Daily Mail website works and is functional and clear.
I find it hard to believe that anyone pays for the Independent website.

Obvious Marxist agenda on display in everything they put out. Their like/dislike ratios on YouTube speak for themselves. People are wise to it.

Not just the Independant but most papers , but the independant is one of the worst like The Gaurdian loads of usless negative crap , just designed to scare people they will print anything and everything before any of it has been proved and the constant insistance on a second Covid wave , boring boring

Wow, one of the worst news sites out there. Just reading it makes you feel contaminated and dirty, like a seagull caught in oily scum.

How a tabloid can be called independent when their articles are so dependant on being heavily left biased, bizarre.

Misleading articles that don't tell any kind of truth as often with an agenda, more strongly than other tabloids. And the most criminal part has to be the articles on their website, half of which seem as though they were written by one with mental instability, which is the only way they can be described. The articles avoid common sense, logic and science. You could say the articles avoid reality; as most of what's in them is far removed.

Absolutely agree on Their Ignorance in presenting One tiny tunneled point of view with the likes of some Harry Cock Burn (ouch) who envisions himself an Environmental hero saviour of forests and orang utans yet unaware that palm oil is planet earths vege oil of choice due to its productivity per land space per labour per scarce resource as in the definition of Economics unaware that US soy agents have long herded the simple of minds to do its dirty work. Take the advise of some here and argue on both sides of the divide perhaps Cockburn finally earn some respect.

has to be the worst news publication in the UK, every morning i see the head lines which they state is extremely misleading. As i continue reading-- on purpose this news paper leave out so many facts plus the other half of the story that any well informed person already knows is untrue unfortunately this type of mis-information misleads everyone else-- its very wrong-- cant be trusted-- will soon become very much like the national enquirer

Far left woke rubbish. They are as far from “Independent” as can possibly be. Instead their aim is to smear anything remotely British or central/right wing in politics. They will not give you both sides of any story, only the side that pushes their far left/communist agenda. They are, thankfully, only representative of a small minority of the British public.

The 'Independent' is the most ironically misnomer-ed publication on Earth. Running a campaign to over turn Brexit is hardly impartial. It cannot be woke enough or hate Britain enough and should just be re-named - 'WeHatetheUK.com'

Awful biased fake news designed to get clicks. The website is a disaster area of pop-ups and ads which makes the cooling fan on my computer sound like a jet plane taking off. Absolute unmitigated trash.

The independent used to be a pretty ordinary news paper that went out of print due to lack of sales (I wonder why lol). Since then it's retreated online and seems to spam Google news searches, reporting fake news and deliberately misrepresented stories. Not good
