Poor customer support during esim setup
I purchased an esim with iiNet and ported my number across from Felix. After 1 day, I still didn't have access to mobile data, so I deleted an unfamiliar esim on my phone. This resulted in me losing access to my number as the porting process was incomplete. Nowhere in the instructions provided was it mentioned that a temporary number would be generated during the porting process, and not to delete this number.
I have now had to go through the process of verifying my identity with iiNet to request a new QR and confirmation code to re-set up my esim. Every time I've called the customer line about the status of this, I've been given scripted responses about the wait time and told that they, or I, cannot get in contact with the department responsible for this process so just to keep waiting. It has now been 3 days without access to my number, which is used for work purposes. Despite me stressing the urgency of expediting this process, I continue to wait for them to send me an email with the new QR code, a relatively simple task. As soon as this is sorted, I will be switching to another provider.

I've switched to iiNet 100Mbs NBN and I'm very happy. The speed and connection are very stable. the customer service and tech support is exceptional.
I am sick to bloody death of iinet
I am sick to bloody death of iinet. I will be telling everyone i can to stay away. I put up with iinet for years far longer than i should have to avoid switching providers. I have had nothing but shitty modems internet drop outs. I have had to nearly everyday restart the modem just to get 5g back. The met is slow im charged for service i dont get. They say faults are nbn related nbn says def not them. Technicians out no better. Been without net continually for a metro area. Neighbours on other providers no issue. 100%iinet. Service provider has us repeat tasks 50 times when it doesnt work. Transfers to departments who arent available no call backs when promised. Finally cancelled service demanded replacement of a faulty modem back when cancelling but is ours and when didnt get code to mail back modem told dont need to. Nobody there knows what they are doing. Stay away never use them. Go elsewhere. Scam artists.
As an update 12 july after cancelling service they invoiced me for next month. Had to complain. Got told id get refunded for month of previous complaint only got half my money back. F THEM!
Shady and shifty company!
I’m done with iiNet. You’ve officially lost another customer.
The internet drops out constantly and can barely be relied on for basic daily use. But what really pushed me over the edge is how shady and shifty this company has become.
You start sending messages about my bill weeks before it’s even due. Not reminders—actual pressure. Then, before the due date even arrives, you’re threatening to cut the internet off. That kind of behavior is ridiculous and completely unacceptable.
And then there’s the mysterious bill changes. One day I log in and owe $79. I go back to pay it, and somehow it’s shot up to $189. This has happened a few times where money was added to my bill out of nowhere. No explanation, no breakdown, no service changes—just more money slapped onto the total. I don’t care how you try to dress it up, that’s not how a trustworthy company operates.
You’ve made it clear that you don’t value your customers only their money, and you sure as hell don’t operate with full transparency. You’ve lost my business for good.
You’re not getting anything beyond what I actually owe, and believe me, I won’t be recommending you to anyone. If anything, I’ll be warning them.

They'll rip you off - loyalty doesn't pay
I've been a loyal customer of iinet for nearly 20 years. I moved home and changed plans a couple of years ago. They kept charging for the old plan, and no matter how many times I called about it, I was dismissed. I finally got a representative who dug deeper and found the issue. It took another month to see a refund, but the refund was put into the account that was cancelled, and I couldn't access it - unbelievable! I was told repeatedly, "This will be the last time you need to call about this issue, we've got it sorted out now." - Another month later, and I'm still chasing my refund that they claim was put into my bank account - it wasn't, they lied! The customer support has usually been great, but the company doesn't care about their customers, only about the money. STAY WELL AWAY FROM IINET

Iinet has been charging me $80 a month for over two years for an old address. Up to $1800. I have called multiple times and have been lied to over and over about when this is going to be resolved. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 15 years. I will be getting in contact with the telecommunications ombudsman. It seems as though I'm not the only one to have experienced this. Very disappointing. Will be cancelling all services and going elsewhere.

I notified iiNet of termination of service 22/5/25 as I was connecting to a new ISP 23/5/25. Invoicing for June continues regardless of 3 phone calls to sort out this invalid billing. Letter arrives today advising my service will be disconnected TODAY! Guys I’m with another ISP and it’s working fine. I’m forwarding Final Notice of Disconnection onto the Ombudsman with other details. No point in advising me to use social media to contact iiNet as I don’t use these services. Why can’t he call centre get it right? They just seem to blame the person contacted before at the call centre for the error.
The worst of the worst
The worst of the worst! I’d score ZERO if I could. Tried to cancel an internet service after spending 45 minutes on the phone TWICE. And a bill turns up for next billing cycle. Another 45 minutes on the phone and they advise there’s no record of cancellation and they can’t guarantee that the service will be cancelled. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! The call centre is totally useless and based offshore. I’m reporting iiNet to the ombudsman they should be shut down and fined! A disgrace of a company!

iinet MOBILE :Great service!
iinet MOBILE :Great service!. Extremely professional customer support who will go that extra mile to ensure that your business gets looked after. They are always polite and friendly. My mobile activation was complete so quickly. Impeccable service. Never had an issue with text messages or phone calls ever. Very reasonable price. I moved out to Kogan from iinet because kogan were having a promotion and within 8 days I was back to iiNet. ii Net even works inside an elevator or enclosed spaces a feat that even Telstra couldn't pull off. After Kogan provided a disastrous experience I realized how good ii net was . I sympathies with those who have had negative experiences and I guess iiNet might have upped their game Highly recommended!
My home internet stopped working so I…
My home internet stopped working so I called iinet support and was advised a level 2 technician would call the next day. As the level 2 technician didn't call I followed up and called iinet support to be advised that the issue was on my end and they would need to send a technician out to my home. As this didn't seem right because I able to login to iinet tool box so I logged in to the modem and check the connection, the connection was fine. I called iinet support back and told them of this and they advised me that it was a server issue on their end and that they would transfer me to a case manager. The case managers section was closed for the day and the phone call ended. I called them back and they then advised that the case manager would call me back the next day. No phone call the next day so I called them back and tryed again with no luck and multiple phone transfer to section that have gone home for the day resulting in me calling them back. On the last attempt and before I go transferred to a non working department of iinet a advised the iinet staff member that this would be the last time I get transferred to an section where no one is currently working, however they still did. After 15 years at iinet I have now move to dodo who had me connected to the net withina few hours and seem to have been able to do something iinet couldn't do in 3 day.
YOU CANNOT LEAVE THIS COMPANY! (TRAPPED)
YOU CANNOT LEAVE THIS COMPANY!
iiNet makes it almost impossible to cancel any service you have with them. Their telephone line will assure you they have terminated your service and invoicing but refuse to provide written confirmation. I have been charged for two months without consent. Highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

What a tinpot organisation!!
What a tinpot organisation!!! If you lose your phone it is IMPOSSIBLE to get any support.
I contacted iinet to get my landline number (because I don't use it). They verified me and then wanted me to repeat the code they SENT TO MY MOBILE!! This seemed perfectly reasonable to their helpdesk.
They then suggested I use the IINET Toolbox and didn't realise that Toolbox SENDS A CODE TO THE MOBILE as well.
If users can identify themselves what security does sending a code to the mobile add. This ISP is consuming all the smaller providers and can't even organise a simple ID protocol.
P*SS*d OFF!!

Unethical
iiNet cut off a blind pensioners mobile phone service and locked his number without notice. He lives alone and has complex medical issues. Took them over a month to resolve, and only after escalation to TIO. He was unable to take his number elsewhere as they had locked it to them. No offer to compensate.
What a waste of time I will never get back
I have been on the phone for 1:36:51 and still no resolve - I am still on the phone now while typing this - call centre does not seem to be in Australia - all I wanted to do was upgrade my plan - got to the end of it and they tell me it wont happen straight away - a technition has to come out and connect some wires - 'yes their words' - it may take 5 days - I need service now - I have a satellite and now I need wires for a wireless connection - I told them to cancel it just forget it - over an hour and a half later - and still not connected or cancelled - not sure how they won awards for great customer service - I am ready to run off screaming and leep off a cliff. Very disappointed.

A year later, still awful.
I've been with iinet for almost a year now, price has increased by $5 and my service is still poor.
I should be getting 50mbps download speed, but instead, I'm barely getting 35mbps -- I call them to ask if they can help, but they had no solution. If I wasn't paying off their bloody router, I would have changed providers.

Promised so much, delivered so little
Promised so much, delivered so little. It's almost like a political campaign, suck you in with promises of bigger better etc etc and deliver absolutely nothing on those promises.
On Saturday 3rd May I put in an application to change my NBN and 2 mobile phone services from my current provider to iiNet, it took over 3 hours for anything to happen, then I get the email to say my mobile phones are ready to set up with an esim as requested.
First phone follow the process, scan QR code, punch in activation code...fail. Scan QR code, punch in new activation code....fail. Scan QR code, punch in new activation code...fail. Scan QR code 'Fail, too many attempts' so as the website instructs 'If you're unable to scan or enter your code, please contact Technical Support on 13 14 23.' and guess what???? that phone number takes you to TPG Mobile support, and suprisingly they couldn't help me with an iiNet support issue.
Finally get on to iiNet support and explain that I have attempted to activate an esim without success and now it won't let me activate. CSR on the phone then attempts to verify if my phone is compatible with esim even after I explain to her that I am currently the phone in question with an active esim. She isgnored me. After 10 minutes she verfies that my phone is indeed compatible with esim and begins to talk me through the activation of the sim while I was on the phone with her using the phone that I needed to active the esim on. Calmly I explain 1) I have been through this process several times with several Service Providers and never failed and never taken longer than 5 minutes to activate. In her patronising and condescending tone she continued to talk me through the steps and suprising it failed for 2 reasons 1. I was on the phone that needed the new esim and 2. the QR code had failed because of too many failed attempts.
The she sends me a link to verify my identity so I can have a new QR code sent. I click on the links, it sends me to a page where I put in my mobile phone number so I can then be sent to a page to verify my identify with photos of my ID and my face....BUT i get sent another link that sends me to a webpage where I put in my mobile phone number to get a link to go to a page where I can enter photos of my ID and my face....but it doesn't load because that link is already active in another tab.
In the last 48 hours I keep getting text messages reminding me that I need to verify my ID. Email support that the link doesn't work, get an email in reply that I need to complete the process to verify my id.
So here I am, 60 hours later, unable to activate an esim that should take no more than 5 minutes to activate.
Promised so much, delivered so little.
Absolutely no support, absolutely no customer service.
So here I am sitting here filling in an application for an alternate NBN and Mobile phone service provider because apparently iiNet don't want my $159 per month.

No internet for days, no accountability,
Moved across from Internode. Wasn’t told that there would be a minimum gap of 1 to 2 days without any internet! Had I been told I would have signed up after my work project deadline. Calls for support came with excessively long waits. One attendant just hung up when I asked to speak to a supervisor. Request to complain, promised a call back which never came. Fully regret signing up.
