Unfit for purpose bathroom rails

Installation of wet room for my disabled husband came in a pack with chromed grab rails. The thin layer of chrome started to peel of the rails in less than a year. I tried to engage with Ideal Standard as did Capitol which did the installation but they refused to discuss accusing me of using abrasive cleaners and refusing to believe me that I did not. Will never use again and warn everyone else to do the same.

Leaking Ideal Standard Inlet Valves.

3 x 10 Year old (installed by Charles Church) lavatory cisterns, two of which are now leaking!
No obvious leaks but checked the Ideal Standard toilet cistern(s) and found a dribble of water by passing the diaphragm on the bottom inlet fill valve of two toilets. This low volume was not observable in the lavatory pan!
Changed diaphragms but no difference!
I have contacted Ideal Standard asking for advice, but have yet to receive a reply!
Update 20 Feb, received a reply! Extra star awarded!

Ideal standard della rimless Wc

Ideal standard della rimless Wc -
1 yr old . Customer damaged cistern top so I’ve tried to source replacement, manufacturer assured me I can get spare parts with supplier, supplier passed me to another, then passed to other spares suppliers and hit a brick wall with no other option but to replace the whole Wc complete .not what I would expect after buying a supposedly quality recognised piece of sanitaryware ! Throw away & costly society we live in now 👎🏻. Wasted hours trying to source this piece of junk . Avoid with a capital A 🚽 👎🏻

Purchased A Sink Which Is The Correct…

Purchased A Sink Which Is The Correct Product Code, But They Have Changed Their Logos Now, So Doesn’t Match With The Ones In New Build Because Of Snagging Issues, Be Warned They Charged Me £65 Plus Vat For A Re Stocking Charge.
Wouldn’t Advise Ordering Cause They Rip You Off, They Charge You Restocking Charges If Your Purchase Is Wrong And Not Your Fault, Very Bad Service For A Company, And You Can Tell With The Feedback They Have.

Awful service

I have enquired about 2 products they currently do prior to buying as I don't just buy anything, especially these days with everything being terrible quality, however I did enquire about a WC and cistern last week, to be exact on the 27th of February, heard nothing ever since, after looking at the rest of the reviews here, I can safely say I won't be recommending Ideal Standard at all, that goes for their secondary brand (Armitage Shanks) as from my knowledge, extremely poor quality, cheap nasty fittings, toilet seats too overpriced, toilets struggle to flush solid waste without blocking, taps sadly having cheap nasty ceramic disc valves that fail after a few years, safe to say I won't be buying anything made by this company, too over priced and you can get Twyford or Lecico far cheaper which works better but as those 2 are not made in the UK, it is a shame I am ditching Ideal Standard as I am all for buying locally and supporting local businesses, sad to say this won't be the case for Ideal Standard I'm afraid due to the poor quality items and service, will go else where, I advise anyone else who sees this to also take note of other reviews and do the same.

What sort of an *toilet seat designer* designs a toilet to stop working after a couple of years

It seems to me it should be really simple to attach a toilet seat to a toilet using nuts and bolts. However the brains at ideal standard have managed to incorporate plastic components into their design to attach a toilet seat to the pedestal, and these fail all too soon.
Furthermore, they redesign their toilet seats seemingly continuously and it is only possible to buy replacement parts on the secondary market at great expense.
Don't buy an ideal standard toilet. You will regret it.
My granny's toilet worked just fine from 1931 to 1983 but my ideal standard one lasted three years.

2nd Update to ongoing claim re the P bath

Update to ongoing claim re the P bath. Ideal Standard have told us not to fit it but refuse to do anything re replace or refund. The best comment they said was 'our baths will warp in humidity or direct sunlight' !!!! What is the most humid room in the house? Ideal Standard did not understand the irony. So WARNING Ideal Standard do not honour their product guarantees!!! Your bath in a humid bathroom will start to warp!!!!
2nd Update Actually got an email from the UK MD Lisa Whitfield .... after her staff had said bath faulty and not to fit, then it was ok, then it was faulty again, she says it complies to some BS standard for dips allowed in surfaces supposed to be straight. You couldn't make it up. She then says yes they manufactured it er but didnt manufacture it as they manufactured it for another wholesaler so the manufacturers 25 yr guarantee isnt with them Ideal...the manufacturer. She also disputes Trading Standards decision on this case. Appalling.

Shame we cannot give zero.

Shame we cannot give zero. Our redbrow home came with 3 toilets. Everyone has had issues. Replaced toilet seat twice on all three. Replace cistern twice and it is still faulty. Total rubbish.

Very poor customer service saying its…

UPDATE… they have reviewed my complaint having asked for the CEO’s or their secretary’s email, and they have as a Goodwill gesture said they will replace the toilet.

I have added two more stars now to ***

Very poor customer service saying its limescale.. we have tried every toxic preparation. The builders tried to remove this mark with no success and they used an industrial product. They won't even think that it could be a faulty toilet pan.
No help, no interest no customer service. No nothing.

Terrible wc seat top design

Basically the Blade WC seat connection to the ceramic toilet base has to be the worse design I have ever seen. One of them just never works ending up with a constant sliding toilet seat. Trying to solve it is ridiculous as its so badly designed. IS have made it so complicated its ridiculous. what happened to nut and bilt from underneath ? Wont be buying anything from them again.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Faulty closure on toilet seat. Part had date stamp clearly indicating that it was well within the 5 year warranty period. Contacted their customer service department and sent photos of part and seat (showing Ideal Standard logo). Stated that I was unable to locate proof of purchase receipt despite my best efforts, but photos indicated it was their seat and faulty part. They refused to replace the part under the guarantee without a receipt and directed me to their website to purchase a whole kit rather than the individual part. As a genuine valued customer, I thought that the details provided would have been more than sufficient for them to make an equitable decision, but unfortunately not. I would not recommend Ideal Standard for purchases, but if you have, make sure that you put your receipt somewhere safe, as they will not help you without it.

Refuse to give technical advice

I have a C55 Keston, now under the Idea Standard company name. I have replaced a boiler pump and needed a small piece of advice on one procedure. After 3 Gas Safe engineers let me down, I had decided to do the simple procedure myself: something which is perfectly legal and acceptable. I was informed that the technical department do not deign to speak to ordinary mortals, only those who have entered the heavenly portals of Gas Safe.

Hence, customer service is a misnomer. Thank you, Zoe.

I finished the installation and my brand new boiler pump is merrily chugging away, and I am still alive to tell the tale.

Oh, that there were a modicum of common sense at Ideal Standard, but perhaps being owned now by an American capital venture company contributes to a fall in standards...so that they are no longer ideal.

Poor design

The lid of one of their new toilet seats cracked when sat on. When I complained, they said the lud isn't meant to be sat on! Surely, most people sit on their toilet seat after a bath when drying off...
Very poor design.

I moved into a new build with all Ideal…

I moved into a new build with all Ideal standard ceramics and taps, the design of the toilet is such that it would take a contortionist to change the seat or work on it underneath, all the taps have had problems, they have already changed the valves on the bath taps and a basin tap now needs replacing after under 2 years, the kitchen tap handle keeps coming off, they are an absolute joke.

Zero stars are not Ideal at all

Zero stars are not Ideal at all!

Terrible customer service and does not honour warranty on faults that are their issues.
Bought a new house with a bath from ideal standard and while leaning against the bathtub to clean it, a crack appeared in the inner fibre glass acrylic on the side of the bath. This is supposed to be covered under ideal standards warranty and they have said that the crack is an impact fault caused by me as 'heavy object must have been dropped'. Easy for them to accuse a customer. This bath is about 6 months old and it should last much longer than that! People sometimes slip inside, kids playing with toys etc. Disgusting customer service.

I have had five replacement toilet…

I have had five replacement toilet seats from this company due to the seats cracking. Even the replace ones only lasted a couple of month max. Really cheap products and equally a really poor customer service experience. Stay clear. You get what you pay for. Nothing ideal about this company!
