Terrible service. They just ignore you.
iConvey works as the middle man, they are a service that provides quotes on behalf of solicitors. Their involvement in the transaction is to take a payment, £300 in our case, towards their non-refundable fee and the search pack (Local Authority Search, Drainage and Water, Environmental and Chancel Repair). They then instruct the Solicitor on your behalf and for the rest of the process, you should have to interact only with your solicitor. When it's time to do the searches, your solicitor interacts with iConvey to get the required searches done and get the reports. Sounds simple enough but it went really wrong for us.
Our experience:
On Friday 27/08/21, a representative from iConvey (not using her name intentionally so that she doesn't get blacklisted and has a chance to improve) gave me an 'all inclusive' quote, I made the payment and she instructed Hutchins & Co to our file, only for me to find out that there were some standard expense items missing in the quote when I spoke to the solicitor they had assigned. I called her back and asked her about the extras and she said that it's not listed in the quote but all included in the legal fee and that I don't have to pay any extra. She said she'd put it in an email for me, but that email never came.
The following week, I followed up with emails and voicemails (because they never received my calls, leaving me wondering if they had closed shop?!). There was NO RESPONSE from them all week. Finally, at the end of the day on Friday 03/09/21 September, I left a voicemail that I'd like to cancel the service, and that's when I got a call back from the representative saying she made a mistake with the quote, can't handle the matter and has escalated it to her superior who will call me on Monday 06/09/21 to rectify it.
It's Thursday 09/09/21 and still no call or email from them. My husband and I have been calling and emailing them all week to resolve this but they don't receive our calls or return our emails. It's time for us to get the searches done and even the Solicitor hasn't been able to contact them. At this rate, we don't know when the searches will get done or if they'll get done at all.
The weirder thing is that the payment of £300 we made shows 'pending' in our bank statement, which means they have not taken it and we don't even know why. It's been two weeks and they're not even bothered about it. Maybe, we are just small fish to them and this money isn't bothering them but we've lost TWO WEEKS in the time that they have been ignoring us.
This is just the beginning of the conveyancing process and they have caused unnecessary delays and stress for us and the solicitor. We are First Time Buyers and got lured in by the attractive quote, but it's just not worth it.

I-Convey could not have been less helpful and supportive despite all their initial promises, they left me high and dry and simply did not want to know. I can only suggest that you stay well clear of them as they could not care less after they have got their cut and have placed you with a firm of their choosing. Ghastly experience indeed.

Used three times now and no problems, we always ask for the solicitors that did our first one.
We also had two properties fall through and their no complete no fee was excellent, both solicitors fees refunded.

The "automatic emails, (and optionally text messages), to inform you when key milestones in your case are reached" mentioned in their FAQ are non existant. Similarly the case-tracking system mentioned in their FAQ "You can also log onto your case tracking system and check the status day or night." does not seem to exist.
They just seem to be a referal agency for solicitors that are so bad they can't get business anyother way.

I suppose the most useful thing I can write is that this is the 10th conveyance I have initiated via iConvey, and every time the service has been quick, efficient, and an excellent price quoted. The sols instructed have been superb. Why go anywhere else?
