Deterioration in the quality, composition and taste of the food

My cats have always enjoyed this food. We had a steady supply every month. Recently, there was a change in the packaging design and ingredients, which now contains a lot of jelly and little meat. The flavor has also changed. It's a shame.
My cats won't eat it and leave whole bowls. I need to cancel my subscription and find another food.

Iams,light in fat,chicken,kibble.

I recently bought Iams light in fat, chicken dog food, for my dog 3 weeks ago.My dog is not only slightly, overweight, but cannot eat carbs, due to them causing yeast infections,in her ears. This dog food is amazing, and is the only one I have found, that doesn't contain fruit and veg, only a tiny bit of beet pulp. She is no longer scratching her ears and doesn't need,1 ears drops anymore,I wish, I had found it,2 years ago.

IAMS KILLED MY CAT AND ALMOST 2 DOGS!!!

We fed our cat Iams and 2 of our 3 dogs always kept eating the cats food if any was left in the bowl. My cat had to be put down from crystals that formed in it's bladder and the 2 dogs almost died from the same condition a few weeks later. The first word out of the vets mouth was "do you feed your cat Iams"? I was skeptical until both dogs who ate the cats food almost died as well. I tell everyone I meet who has cats to never feed there pets Iams and if I see anyone with there product I make sure to let them now my story. DO NOT FEED YOUR PETS IAMS!!!!

Impossible to get reposne from IAMS Careline

Have fed my dogs IAMS for a number of years without issue to be fair. However, recently got a new dog who was happily eating IAMS without issue until a bout of diarrhea, advised by vet to feed bland diet (boiled chicken) for a few days. To cut a long story short it appears my dog has become "chicken intolerant". I checked the ingredients for my IAMS dog food (inc. on the IAMS website) and all it says is "animal protein". So I emailed Iamscareline using the email on the IAMS site, asking if the "animal protein" included chicken, but never got any reply. So I completed the "Contact Us" form on the IAMS website, and got the following reply from MARS PETCARE? :

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused but you need to contact IAMS directly:

03308089776 (open 9.00am – 5.00pm)
Iamscareline mail address from the website

Kind Regards,

So basically email the people who have already ignored your previous email? And why am I getting a reply from MARS when I have used the "Contact Us" from on the IAMS website? Will I ever buy IAMS again, definitely not.

There's something wrong with IAMS?

Something weird is going on with IAMS. My dogs have been eating this for a year. They loved it. However the last bag I bought, they are refusing to eat. The pieces are noticably larger, possibly harder also. They are much lighter in colour - the previous bag was a darker shade of brown whereby these are a more creamy tan colour. If it was just one of my dogs I'd think it was something else, but it's both of them. We bought the largest bag so it's not cheap to replace, and you're not meant to change dog's food quickly... You're always meant to ween them from one food onto another, so it makes you wonder why dog food companies are allowed to (seemingly??) change a recipe without clear warning. ***Since writing this review, I have had no response from IAMS to this review and have changed my dog's food.

STAY AWAY FROM THE CAT FOOD!!

Hi I emailed you 02/12/2023, as your adult dry cat food has caused my 1.5 yr old cat to suffer with struvite crystals, and urinary blockages.

This has been extremely painful for my cat, and has cost hundreds in vets bills.

I need a response to my email and concern, the company needs to take action now.

One of the packages came open and rotten with dry bug larvae all over it

We bought Iams Delights Wet Food Land and Sea Collection with Meat and Fish in Gravy, 12 x 85g.

One of the packages came open and rotten with dry bug larvae all over it. It absolutely stank. Contacted iams support, sent them a video and everything and they didn't even bothered to respond which is why I am writing this negative review. This company is very irresponsible and I will never buy from them again

Iams puppy food

We tried our 12 week old puppy on the Iams puppy food and by day 4 he was extremely bloated, lethargic, had diarrhea and his tail wasn't held in the air let alone wagging. By morning the bloating would diminish but return as soon as he was fed, bigger than before. He wasn't his usual playful self either. Once we switched back to wet food he was fine and back to his usual self quickly, but the bloat took a while to go completely.

I am really disappointed by the…

I am really disappointed by the marketing approach of what I thought was a premium brand, and I personally felt very misled. Worst still, I feel their misleading claim made my dog ill, who requires high protein food. I am left questioning if they genuinely have the health of peoples’ pets’ interests at heart.

The front of their packaging clearly states “85% Animal Protein”, leading me to think the product was 85% protein overall. In actual fact, after my dog was ill and I read the small print, I realised that this meant only 85% of the overall protein was from animals. In fact, the overall protein content is lower.

I feel this approach to marketing was highly misleading, and I am considering referring it to the authorities. Do what is the right thing Iams - be honest!

Appalling customer service and safety concerns

We regularly feed our cat IAMs and it has been fine until this December (2020) where we opened a new box to find a sachet blown up like a balloon. Obviously wanted to check the safety for the batch and emailed the contact details on the website - absolutely zero response, up to today still nothing at all despite a couple of chaser emails sent - so for customer service when you have a question it is a zero but the site doesn't allow that. Threw the whole box in the bin on safety grounds given they couldn't be bothered to reply - good at advertising and taking your money but cannot seem to be bothered to liaise with their customers - note they are not even responding to negative reviews on this site for over a year now either.....very poor for a "reputable" company

Experts at hiding bad reviews

I tried this food for my dogs. I wasn't thrilled about the results. Their coats started to look dry and all three dogs started to smell quite doggy, which was never a problem before. One of my dogs actually broke out in itchy scabs everywhere. After steroid injections and creams it still wouldn't sooth his skin. Another of my dogs started eating poop a little while after being on this food. After taking them off of Iams and putting them all on a raw diet, all of these symptoms went away after a couple months. No itchy scabs, less smelly, no poop eating, shiny coats.

I was really surprised I had such awful results so I looked online for bad reviews and they all seemed to be hidden! The star score would NOT be 5* but only 5* results would be shown. After more digging I discovered multiple articles and videos about the cruelty that goes on. I didn't even realise Iams tested on animals! They certainly are not up front about that. Disappointed is not a strong enough word.
