Excellent

I was forced to switch banks due to the unprofessional conduct of another well-known German cooperative bank.
HVB offers outstanding service: polite and un-bureaucratic — two qualities that are almost extinct in the country. Communications are sent in a timely manner and are clearly worded. When solutions are required for issues not anticipated by German rulebooks, the amazing staff know how to resolve them in a timely and elegant fashion. Thank you!

After 13 years with the bank

After 13 years with the bank, last Friday I got a letter saying they will close my account in the end of April, my wife called them and they couldn’t give me a reason.
Customer service also doesn’t speak English in 2026, pathetic.

constant problems with this bank

I have been a customer of Hypovereinsbank for almost 40 years, but for a long time now I have only been doing the bare minimum. I was always glad not to have to go to the branch because there were often problems with the staff. Now I had a problem with online banking; several transfers were not executed. I was forced to call the hotline. The answer was that I should call the Federal Bank!!!

Too slow no transparency

I’m doing a bank transfer to buy a car in Germany. The transfer is blocked at this bank acting as an intermediary for 10 days now. My bank HSBC requested the status 4 days ago, still have no response. The seller has already requested the export license and its expiry is in several days. It’s really frustrating! How a such large commercial bank can have such poor and slow service.

I deal with many banks internationally…

I deal with many banks internationally and domestically. This bank prioritizes safety, which is great, but they make it so complicated and convoluted that you end up locking yourself out. Most of the time it takes a visit to the branch to sort it out. If you do no live in Germany its not something you can do. Their systems do not work well on the international level. Stay away!! Their customer service on the phone is terrible. Their chat bot filter does not work very well. This is a bank I would stay away from if you are not in Germany and probably if you are in Germany as well as their IT infrastucture is not customer oriented.

2 factor authentication? Are we still in 2010?

The app and website is confusing and unnecessarily complicated, especially for people from foreign countries. The multiple layers of authentication-TAN make even basic tasks feel frustrating and time-consuming. Also I feel like it is from another century. It’s not user friendly it takes too long to find what you need.

Another big issue is customer service. It should be available 24/7 for all concerns, not just emergencies like lost cards. Overall, the app needs serious improvement in both design and support.

no help from bank sales person

Lost overall more than 600.000 € in just few months with no reply from my bank sales person. I am horrified and shocked to the bone. Never again !

I was so thankful that Mrs

I was so thankful that Mrs. Jessica Vohra received my call and could solve my issues within 24h. I needed to call more than 5 times to get an english speaking employee on the phone.

I dont know why my bank got blocked

I dont know why my bank got blocked , i recieve mail from HVB team support and they say call us , im calling and they support didnt talk with english language(but HVB app have english so i think need to talk support on phone too) they block my account without any reason and right now im trying to get help via phone(everytime call to support get chance to HVB support maybe can talk english)

No service at all !!!

If you give service internationally you need to have at least English as second language on phone..Branch customer representatives do not answer mails, phone support do not speak english, phone meeting schedule canlled on last minute..So how to communicate and find solution ? Where is your service ? But you collect money and send many mails fro any simple details, better to focus on giving service to your customers who pays for it.

Depot account in HVB

I am new to HVB. Everything from the initial contact to the final setup or my Depot was super professional. All my questions were answered and in a timely manner. The advice I have got were also very professional. So far I am very happy with my decision to go with HVB.

They’re so far behind, I have to wait two weeks for my account to be unfrozen

I missed a tax payment and my account was frozen. Ok, fine. I messed up. But the tax office was shocked when I told them what the bank told me—that they (the bank) is behind on their work and won’t be able to unfreeze my account immediately once they get the letter from the tax office saying everything is taken care of.

They’ve had the letter now for at least 4 working days, and my account is still frozen, and they can’t tell me when I can access my money. Ironically, this is making me late on the next tax payment—not to mention my rent. Not to mention multiple other bills that automatically go to this account, all of which are also triggering fees from the bank and the vendors.

Needless to say, I’ll be closing this account as soon as I can after I regain access. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a bank.
