Very comfy ov erall

Very comfy. The top wool padded top layer adds to comfort. Less hard than my old mstress so is more comfortable but still supportive. Much easier to flip round with side handles. Sleep much improved. Sometimes a bit hot but a lighter quilt sorted that. Good matress

I ordered a Hypnos mattress 3 yrs ago…

I ordered a Hypnos mattress 3 yrs ago as it was something I’d always hoped to have with them being so expensive in comparison to other mattresses/beds. I loved it so much for the first say 12mths. However after the 12mths I noticed the mattress had developed quite a dip in it and had become unbelievably uncomfortable. So much so I had to buy a simba mattress topper and an electric blanket so the wires would also help prevent the dip, however they too still sink into the dip. I contacted land of beds who arranged for an ‘apparent’ independent mattress investigator from Castelan to investigate and check my mattress and low and behold like most of the other complaints of severe dipping I too was given the exact same feedback as everyone else that has left 1* comments. General wear topper flattened etc. Also photos were provided of my mattress by castelan taken approx 4/5 ft above the mattress, these are not acceptable images as there’s not one photo taken at mattress level where the dip can clearly be seen. There’s no images of the fluffy buttons and how they very easily lift 5 inches above the mattress right down the centre of the bed, the sides approx 1cm. There’s no measurements or images of the dip provided or taken by castelan, therefore the independent tester from castelan has 100% not done or proven a fair independent test. In the report he mentioned I sleep in the middle but has omitted the fact I like to sleep at the side but am unable to do so in my bed as I unwilling role to the centre. I was asked only that 1 question by castelan, no others. I’ve provided good clear side on photos to L of B where the dip can very clearly be seen 3 inches with no pressure on the mattress whatsoever. It goes to show that Hypnos are using a company and are fully aware too castelan are not giving correct information or using selective information so Hypnos don’t need to resolve a problem for their customers. I bought 2 mattresses, headboard divan base, 4 Hypnos pillows, mattress protectors, I recommend them to my daughter, mother and brother who also all purchased Hypnos mattresses, pillows and mattress protectors. Through my recommendations to my immediate family we spent approximately £8000+ with Hypnos. My mattress is the only one that’s failed, therefore I’m really disappointed that Hypnos treat their customers in the way they do once a mattress completely fails. You’d think Hypnos would want to be better and strive to also have an excellent customer service. Their 1* ratings are exceptionally high for such a brand and are equal to poor achieving companies. Castelan also sent a man to my home who had the worst body odour I have ever come across it was absolutely disgusting, not only did my bedroom smell really bad but my entire stairs and landing too stunk of his odour after he left. I wasn’t sure if this was a tactic so I wouldn’t stay in the room, ( I couldn’t it was that bad) while he did his none proven ‘apparent’ tests. I’m looking into getting my own independent mattress examiner, as to anyone it’s really clear there’s something wrong with the springs in the centre of my mattress.

Perfect experience

Didn’t realise how much I needed a new bed until I got a Hypnos one. Sleep quality improved 100% and it’s lovely to have a mattress that just needs rotating rather than turning.

Loyal custom for a fantastic brand.

I needed a replacement Hypnos mattress after 10 years on my last Wisteria model (and it lasted as long as it said), initially I was worried as my old model was no longer available. However I contacted customer service who gave me the new equivalent mattress - wool origins 8, and I also went to a showroom to test and ask a few more questions. Delivery was smooth and the mattress - wow doesn’t disappoint!! So good for my lower back as my discs are worn out and really need the right mattress.

I can’t recommend this brand high enough. Since we sleep fot a third of a day to me the investment is worth it. I almost dread holidays now - very bitter sweet not knowing what kind of mattress I’ll get, but I know home will always give me the best nights sleep thanks to Hypnos.

Still on the hunt for the right pillow. Didn’t know Hypnos made them too so maybe I’ll test them in the future

It's a gamble

Buying a mattress is a gamble. These days buying something that will last is a big risk. We have had a couple of very bad experiences with foam type products so we decided to go back to traditional materials. Then finding somewhere which has a decent product range to touch is another problem. The normal 'shed type outlet just sells junk. We found out about the Superior topper and effectively took a risk as they are very hard to find and test. There is a long lead time to get it. It has turned out to be an instant success. Just got to see if it lasts a lot better than the modern day materials used by many companies these days. Ask me again in 5 years + time.

Love my new hypnos mattress

Love my new hypnos mattress. My previous mattress was a firm but this time I have got a medium and I find it more comfortable. The mattress is no turn, which is helpful but I am rotating it every week.

So far so good

Excellent sleep, just the right firmness, verry comfortable, not enough time in use to see if the matress keeps its shape and firmness.

Wis we’d bought our new Hypnos mattress sooner!

We are delighted with our new Hypnos mattress. Our sleep is much improved so we should definitely have treated ourselves to this mattress sooner (believe the advice when we’re told to replace our mattresses reasonably regularly!). Care instructions are helpful and informative. Plus we know that when we do replace this mattress it is entirely environmentally friendly with nothing to go to land waste. Win, win!

Hypnos - a guarantee to disappoint

I purchased a mattress from Hypnos at the end of 2021, expecting a premium product to deliver long-term comfort and durability. Unfortunately, after around four years of normal use, the mattress developed a noticeable dip that affects support to the point where I roll into the centre during the night.

What has been most disappointing is not just the product itself, but how the guarantee is applied in practice.

An independent inspection confirmed uneven settlement and differences in tension across the mattress. However, because the measured dip fell within the manufacturer’s internal tolerance levels, the issue was dismissed as “normal wear and tear.” The guarantee appears to apply only in cases of clear structural failure (such as significant spring collapse), rather than when the mattress no longer performs as expected in real-world use.

The report also included assumptions about usage which I do not feel were properly substantiated. It suggested that the issue may be due to insufficient rotation and sleeping on the same side of the mattress. In reality, the mattress has been rotated and turned in line with the care guidance, and no clear evidence was provided to support these conclusions.

This creates a frustrating gap: the mattress can be uncomfortable and no longer provide proper support, yet still be deemed “acceptable” because it hasn’t failed by a strict technical definition.

In my case, the mattress is no longer fit for comfortable sleep, despite being only halfway through its advertised guarantee period. The focus on measurements and internal thresholds, rather than actual user experience, makes the guarantee feel far more limited than it appears at the point of purchase.

I had expected better from a brand positioned at this level, both in terms of product longevity and how customer issues are handled.

Reply from Hypnos Beds

Thank you for raising your concerns.

We fully appreciate that differences in appearance or feel can sometimes be unexpected. However, it’s important to clarify that the variances you have described fall within tolerances that are widely recognised across the bed and mattress industry, rather than being specific to Hypnos alone.

Due to the nature of mattress construction, particularly where natural and comfort fillings are used, a degree of variation is entirely normal. Industry guidance recognises that:

Surface settlement (body impressions) will occur over time as fillings compress under regular use; this is a sign that the comfort layers are adapting, not a fault.

These tolerances are standard across the sector and are reflected in guidance provided by industry bodies and independent organisations. They are not indicative of a manufacturing defect or a quality issue.

We would also highlight that all our products undergo rigorous quality checks prior to dispatch to ensure they meet both internal specifications and recognised industry standards.
Based on the information available, the product you have received is performing within these accepted tolerances. As such, it would not be considered faulty.

Kind regards
Hypnos

Excellent comfort mattress

This is our first Hypnos mattress and we shall buy again in the future as needed. Exceptionally comfortable bed and excellent night's sleep for us both.
