Avoid buying a Honda car

I’ve got a Civic which is good to drive, comfortable and economical. It’s also very unreliable and Honda customer care and servicing is dreadful. Having lost the car to a fault for six weeks late last year without an offer of a courtesy car a similar problem with the steering has occurred. Apparently this fault needs an urgent repair. You might think that this would mean that it would be a priority for their service agent (the equally appalling Hendy) but no it’s not. I spoke directly to Honda customer service and was advised not to drive the car. So once again I’m left with an expensive but utterly useless lump of trash on my drive and Honda doesn’t give two hoots. The car is still under warranty which seems to be of little or no value. So, if you’re thinking of buying a new car do yourself a huge favour and avoid Honda, they are expensive, badly built and unreliable.

Honda Jazz Advance - Worst Car Ever

Bought a Honda Jazz Advance from Vertu Honda Newcastle, less than 3 weeks ago, and it’s been back 8 times for repairs. They can’t fix it. Worst car I’ve ever had. Unreliable vehicle and terrible customer service. Once they get your money the handshakes and smiles disappear. Don’t believe the hype.

Bought a 2018 Honda and it's gearbox gone within 8 months

Bought a 2018 Honda. Still under warranty. Also paid extra to extend the warranty. 8 months in and the gearbox went, which is unusual. Also found out they have 2 recalls one for engine and one for fuel type. They're saying that I have to pay £6000, to get new one as the claim limit is less and it costs£20,000 to fix. I told him what's the point of the warranty. N also if they can replace vehicle since it's been 8 months as they can do. He said no not under the policy. So offered to fix it for 2nd hand gearbox but it will still cost me £1500 to fix. Also said he couldn't see the engine recall just the fuel. Been without a car now for a week. Main breadwinner in house and struggling to get into work and drop kids as the timings are so close together and having a special needs child missed his appointments as well. They haven't even provided a curtsey as they are booked out. So I'm now put of pocket after having to pay for extended warranty. Makes me think twice before buying a Honda again. They are supposed to be reliable!

Not Impressed with Acura

I’ve had my Acura for 2 years and it’s been nothing but problems. The air conditioning broke, engine issues, and the tech is way behind other brands. For the price, I expected better quality. Definitely not worth it. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

2006 CRV still reliable

I own a CRV 2006. It is not even the most efficient CRV model for its year, but it has been a great car. Over its life, it has needed minimal maintenance comparatively. I trust a local car maintenance company to keep my CRV running at its best, but I did take it to a dealership for a computer analysis some years ago. They found 6 different gaskets that needed replaced because they were leaking. I found the cost to fix the leaks to be higher than I would have paid at my local car maintenance company, but the computer analysis was beneficial to find all the leaks. Overall, this vehicle has outlived my ability to drive it, but it still operates well, and I view it as my family rental vehicle now.

Shoddy Hood Paint Job!

My 2023 Honda Elite Pilot barely 2 yrs old & the hood paint finish is rough vs smooth like the finish on the rest of the vehicle. I took the pilot in for recall service (Honda of Grapevine) & showed them the hood. My adviser said after a good wash I should have the hood buffed at a cost of approx. $175.
I contacted Honda Consumer Relations & they requested a copy of the paint diagnostic paperwork Grapevine Dealership provided me on the vehicle's hood paint (which they didn't do).

After several f/u calls by me to Adriana, and after 3 weeks, my Honda Cust Service Mgr called today to report the Grapevine dealership diagnosis was an overspray was advised b/c the rough paint job is not a manufacturer's defect. I'm stunned b/c the dealership never provided me with a diagnosis sheet for the hood paint job when I brought the vehicle in for service. But weeks later this is their assessment to Honda Customer Relations! It was a shoddy paint job, period! Plus, the L in Pilot on the rear of the vehicle is already falling off, so I was advised to glue it back on by a Honda advisor, otherwise the entire section would have to be ordered not just one letter and it would be my cost. I am an extremely disappointed Honda customer.

Honda Uk Customer Complaints are…

Honda Uk Customer Complaints are extremely hard hearted and unhelpful. Please be aware that should THEIR products fail or be recalled, you will not have a refund should you purchase before the recall. To say a 2018 plate is recalled for fuel pump issues in January 2025 says it all. I would not encourage custom as despite taking advantage of a very vulnerable person, they have no conscience about taking the last of a persons money for their greedy pot! Additionally, they will insist you use their service centres and you’ll be charged extortionate prices for their faulty products sold. Never go to Honda as the used cars are a money pit and clearly take thousands to put right.

I have owned 3 ridgelines and this year…

I have owned 3 ridgelines and this year I decided to buy a brand new trailsport. I'm very disappointed with this truck. It gets worse gas mileage than my 2019. I'm having issues with the idle stop and the passenger side front window. When I asked the dealership to check on my issues they basically said I didn't know what I was talking about. Considering how much money this truck cost, I am not happy at all.

I leased a Honda Prologue

I leased a Honda Prologue. And not even a month I took it to the dealership because when you turn the wheel to the right or left, does a click noise. So I was told the car is defective and it has been at the dealership more than a month. Supposedly because there are no parts. So I hired a Lemon Law lawyer. So now they are handling the case. I do not want the car back. I wamt honda to buy the dam car. And I went to see the status of the car at the dealership. And belive me. They had more than 10 brand new cars for the same issue. Please DO NOT BUY OR LEASED THIS CAR. IT WAS MADE BY HONDA AND GMC. Even the mechanics told me, that they don't understand why Honda couldn't make the Honda Prologue by themselves. They even put a sign on the steering wheel. Do not drive. No suspension. Not safe to drive. Please don't fall for that car, or else you will end up on my same situation.

O’Daniel Honda of Omaha

I brought my vehicle in for transmission issues. I have the ignition interlock and provided clear instructions along with offering a phone number to remove the unit before working on the vehicle. They made it sound as if they’ve done this before and no problem they’ll come get me when I need to blow. However, all of those things were ignored, which resulted in the second violation I’ve gotten from them for missing a rolling test. When I alerted management about the violation I was told that there was no error on their end and they would not be reimbursing, when I finally heard back the manager claimed he had called and left a voicemail(no record of that). I was not physically present in the vehicle when they missed that test. It is 100% on them and over $100 I had to pay because of their negligence. I will absolutely not be returning. I purchased my vehicle through this company and this is how they treat their customers? A lousy hundred bucks that means nothing to them. Paying for a violation on top of the already high dealership prices is not acceptable

Should Have Bought Another Honda

This review is about a Honda dealership, but it is also about Hondas.

Sadly, I did not buy a Honda here (Airport Marina Honda), but I should have instead of the piece of junk Tesla that I now have replaced with another car. But my daughter bought her Honda here and I was there looking for myself for some time. Should have stayed.

First, they have a great selection and the place is very pretty and ever so well maintained. There is room enough to move among the cars and their showroom is super.

Second, the woman who took care of us, whose name escapes me because I am bran dead, was the best. She knew we were looking at the crappy Teslas next door to them but did not say a word against them. She showed me what I was looking for, a hybrid and it was great. She knew everything about it and how many they had and the pricing. Every questions I asked her she was able to answer. her manager was also so kind. Again, I should have stayed. There was a Federal rebate on Teslas so I bought that. And as I said I have now had to replace it. I wish I had just gone with my gut, missed the rebate and bought the Honda.

I have also taken my daughter's car in for service there and they were great.

First I just purchased a Honda pilot…

First I just purchased a Honda pilot 2025 the back up camera is not bright at all all fir a vehicle cost over 50 thousand. They should put a 1080 p camera or HD . That’s very disappointing . The next thing those LED headlights are not bright enough they can do better Honda . I watched a video on YouTube and a person review it said the same thing these lights are about a C that’s disappointing my 2019 pilot lights I think was brighter I seen less price cars on the road with brighter led headlights than this 2025 pilot lights. I do like some things about the new pilot which is good still spacious and tge bucket seats and wireless Apple car play . Ur my thing is the head light and fog light is too hidden need to be a little more visible and brighter also again this is a 50k plus vehicle. Come on Honda don’t short change your customer and the 9 inch could have been a 12 at least make it more attractive looking ! Also get the the led reverse lights also . I hope the next spare these things are corrected . The most part it’s good space is good and make the 10 speed transmission more smoothly also a little drag occasionally . Come with a futuristic shape the next pilot . Still spacious LED all around with a bigger display that would be awesome !

Common thieves

I've been robbed in that place!!! they are practically Thieves! I'm writing about Johnsons Honda in Kidlington. My car was over heating time to time I took my car there because no other Garage could find the problem. Only to check the car i paid £150 and for that money, they were going to tell what was wrong with it. An hour later they told me it was a simple thing which can be fixed quickly and easy and that was going to cost me only £573 but it wasn't like that. They charged me in advanced and no after the job as most of garages do.3 days later, 10 min after i left HONDA the car was failing again and it was worst than before. I went back immediately and they said to me they had repaired the car according to how i described the problem, so in one word they didn't checked it properly. The receptionist called "the manager" because i was unsatisfied with the outcome. This man was very rude to me when i asked him how can be this possible? he told me that it wasn't their fault that it was mine because they checked the car according to what i said, when i asked them to do something about the problem This horrible man said "if you don't like it then take your car somewhere else, and then he said "out of courtesy" we will check it again. They call me 6 hours later just to tell me; you car has a serious problem and it would cost several thousands to repair it, in one word its no driveable. They said they are masters and experts, in what i don't know?, They could have said it from the very beginning but they needed to get easy money from someone. My friends said to me if you are a woman you have to go with a man then they will respect you. In one word in this country we are living in Victorian's time. And that is Johnsons Honda in Oxford!!!. I will say it again they are just a bunch of common thieves! I'm extremely disappointed!!! and his stupid" courtesy" cost me a total of £713.Because they charged me they treated me very bad and i didn't get a penny in returned, nothing!!! a total wasted of time and money, We need a new car at home and a Honda is not going to be .
