I usually love shopping here. Today however, I had a different experience. The staff who were stocking the shelves were so rude, barging around, pushing past customers and never once apologising for... See more

I went to Bedford store at St Johns Retail Park unit 8
MK42 0XE,
I wanted to know the price of a lovely big flower pot?, an assistant was walking past me with a chair in her hands, as she went past I asked could you help me (at the time she was the only person on the floor.) the manner this lady answered me in left me upset she practically shouted at me saying "CAN I PUT THIS CHAIR DOWN FIRST!!!!.". And instead of her coming over to me herself she interrupted one of the staff who was already with a customer to come over to help me, the young lady that came over was very helpful and pleasant. I then asked her if I could speak to a manager about the other staffs attitude towards me, only to find out that the rude female staff was the manager. Usually the management is really nice. I whilst waiting to pay for an item I also heard her talking down to one of her staff in public. Is this kind of behaviour what the Homesense franchise looking for in a manager.. (to talk down to the customers also???..)
Other than that I love everything about the store even the lovely staff that work under this rude and abrupt manager.

Visited Homesense in Greenwich 01/05/26 and I wish I could rate my experience higher than 5*.
Jenifer has been amazing from the minute I have approached plant pots section. She was so helpful regarding stock, safety and transportation (I couldn’t get a suitable Uber driver) so she helped me to get items delivered via Anyvan.
Thank you for your hard and professional work. We need more Jenifer 🤗!!!

Went to HomeSense Harlow today. Such lovely things there. Spoilt for choice and really good prices. I bought a metal garden obelisk, some beautiful hand painted glasses, and a decorative watering can. So pleased with these.
Had a good chat with Wasiqua at the pay point. She told me about signing up for a Treasure Card and explained the benefits. We chatted about the lovely things in store whilst she wrapped my glasses. Good service.
Extremely pleased with my purchases and will be back again very soon to see what’s new in store.

What has happened to Homesense? The quality of the stock is nowhere near as good as it used to be. If you’re looking for tacky, bright coloured, novelty or kitchy items then this is the right place. However, if you’re looking for good quality, sophisticated home wares then no! I used to love their mugs but the nice mugs are outnumbered by the tacky ones with lobsters and croissants!

I want to share my experience at the Charlottetown HomeSense (Saturday evening around 7 PM). I am a long-time customer, having spent a significant amount furnishing my homes.
While browsing the rug section, an associate was working nearby, though it wasn’t clear what they were doing. They did not speak to me but seemed annoyed by my presence. The manager on duty abruptly told me to move away from the area. While the words were not rude, the tone was dismissive, condescending, and felt like malicious compliance—prioritizing the associate’s task over customer service.
When I asked for the manager’s name, they introduced themselves and then asked for mine, which added to the uncomfortable nature of the interaction. I left the store extremely frustrated and did not complete my shopping, walking away from multiple planned purchases.
This experience was completely unwelcoming and far below the standard any customer should expect from a manager.

Their HO customer service do not want to resolve a faulty chaise sofa despite providing them with photographic evidence.

Excellent customer service at HomeSense. Everyone in the store always says hello, the store is always very clean, and the staff are extremely helpful. The manager is always present, which makes a big difference. It’s a really great store to shop at, and they even offer very good samples.

Popped in to the Tunbridge Wells store today and just wanted to acknowledge the great customer service I received. I was struggling with the measurements of something and a kind member of staff went and got me a tape measure so I could see if it would fit. It’s the simple things that really make an impact. Really appreciated their help.

I visited Homesense in Brighton. A male member of staff on the till was rude to a group of us saying “I can only serve one person at a time”. When I was next to be served I placed the item I was buying on the counter so that I could get my purse out of my handbag, he then me told I had no manners.
I did write a complaint to their online customer service team. I received two standard emails back which were not personal to my complaint and didn’t really deal with my specific issue.

Treated like fools by Eastern European management at Homesense. Set of glasses in clearance. Then they denied they were clearance. No concept of customer service. Never ever going into a homesense again. Terrible behaviour. We would have paid the full price as well but instead of apologising for their mis pricing they snatched them away.

After our local stores in Essex didn’t have the rug we wanted and were unhelpful, we contacted the Merry Hill store and spoke to Jo, the Manager. From that moment the service was outstanding. Jo was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful, and she kindly arranged to reserve the rug for us until the weekend when we could travel up to collect it.
When we arrived, we were so impressed. The store was spotless, beautifully laid out, very bright and very well stocked, with every member of staff we approached being welcoming and eager to help. The rug was thoughtfully displayed for us so we could check it over and make sure there were no marks, which we really appreciated. A lovely man, Alex, went above and beyond by helping to roll the rug up, taking it to the till, and even carrying it out to our car. After that, we returned to the store and ended up making several other purchases.
The drive from Essex to Merry Hill was absolutely worth it. We had such a fantastic experience from start to finish, and visiting this store was a genuine pleasure. We’ll definitely be returning to shop again in 2026. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a pleasant visit.

I bought something at Homesense in Taplow two days later I went to return it because it wasn’t suitable, and the lady I saw was Shazia, when I explained I was wanting to do a return and the reason why she doubted it was even their Item and started asking someone else if this was an item of theirs even though I had the receipt the sticky was on the item and I said to her I’ve just walked past them there are about six on the shelf Would you like me to go and get you one of your own and she said well I’m just checking because I don’t recognise this item so I said does that mean you know every single product in Home Sence upstairs and downstairs and then she said no so I said why did you say that to me so anyway I ended up speaking to her manager and I saw other people do returns and to cut a long story show they are socially profiling people so unless you are white they will ask you more questions than they would to the white customers so just be aware when you returning items . Maybe next time I will take a picture when I do my sales transaction with the items on the counter and the person serving me to make sure there is no doubt when I have to bring something back. Appalling behaviour

I came into the store (staples corner) today to return a coffee table that is chipping off from the surface due to extremely poor quality. The manager (LUKE) not even listened to us, he made up scenarios that we purposely scratched the table AND PLUS he was rude and AGGRESSIVE and was RAISING HIS VOICE over two single woman. I URGE the ceo of the company to remove such abusive staff from their system. As he can’t just be abusive towards customers. He clearly has anger problems and no communication skills and shouldn’t be dealing with pools.

I visited Homesense today at the Capital Centre, Preston and they had some really lovely items in store. When I went to the checkout, I was served by a young girl. I placed my basket on the till, as I’ve always done, both here and at TK Max, but was abruptly told to remove it, with no “please” or “thank you.” I understand if this isn’t allowed, but it would be helpful if signs were displayed to make customers aware of this policy.
What stood out to me most was her tone, it was unfriendly and not welcoming. As a young person myself who has worked in customer-facing roles, I know how important it is to be polite and approachable. A simple smile or a kind word makes a big difference to a customer’s experience.
Perhaps this feedback could be taken on board for future staff training. Retail may not be for everyone, but good customer service skills are essential. Unfortunately, that was lacking during my visit, and it did affect my overall experience.

Bought a bed sheet labelled (on the packaging) as super king size. And it was priced accordingly. When I got it home and opened the package, it contained a single size sheet.
Annoyed, but is it really worth the petrol to return it? - the shop isn't close.
Should have got one in Tesco. No more expensive and you pretty much know what you're going to get.
