Hirestreet also sell discounted clothes however they will not give a refund or exchange. At no point was I informed that items that are not the size stated in the size chart could not be exchanged. I recommended this company to others however I will be informing them of the issues and poor customer service.
As Described online Guarantee: If the item was labeled a size 10 but measures as a size 8, it is not "as described" under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In this case, you are entitled to a refund, even in-store
Online/Distance Sales: Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a legal right to cancel for any reason, including wrong size, within 14 days of receiving the item. You have another 14 days to send it back after notifying the seller.
Update…After writing this review I was offered a partial refund which I accepted (due to time, effort and energy) told to keep the items which I will donate to a charity shop. Sadly before this happened I was impressed with the speed of delivery and service. Asked politely via email to remove this content. For this reason I have upgraded the stars in the interest of fairness but just want to make other service users aware of non return policy accepted when buying discounted clothing from Hirestreet. A bargain isn’t a bargain if you are left with clothes that can’t be returned and out of pocket.

New to Hirestreet, found them online and seemed like a great concept. Had a black tie event on Thursday 15 Jan, so I ordered 2 dresses on the Sunday as the website said I would have the dresses from Tuesday 13 Jan to 13 Feb. The order confirmation email then said delivery would be Wednesday 14th Feb (which would still have been fine) however the items did not arrive. I contacted hirestreet by logging a ticket on their website (theres no telephone number) to cancel the order and request a refund as I would now not have any need for the dresses I had to scramble to find and buy a new dress on Thursday, the same day as the event.
The dresses arrived on Friday morning and I still didn’t receive a response from customer service. Overall very dissatisfied with this company and their lack of customer service. If you’re looking for something for an even I’d recommend you don’t waste your time or money with Hirestreet.

Bought £70 worth of items in the clearance sale. The items were cheaply made and didn't fit as shown on pictures but I was told that they couldn't accept returns due to being a small business and they'd be out of pocket if they accepted a return.
When I first submitted a complaint about this due to having a legal right to return, it was completely brushed over. I then had to write a second email before it was taken seriously and even then, I was only offered a £35 refund and told to keep the items. This doesn't really make up for the fact that I've lost out on money and the business isn't following consumer rights, however, I accepted for ease as I don't have the time for seeking legal advice right now.
Policies cannot override a persons rights so this needs addressing by the company, and I certainly won't be purchasing or hiring from them again.

They are always super helpful, dresses are always great quality and condition. I’ve never waited longer than a couple hours for a reply to my emails. They are now the only hire company I use as so much better than any of the others. So easy to use.

Oh my gosh! Fab fab fab! Excellent clothes. The Best Ever Customer Service. Found the most amazing dresses for a Wedding. Just order and don’t forget their £10 sales (my guilty secret no more) - just run don’t walk!
Thanks again x

Initially tried Hirestreet for a wedding as I was sick of buying news dresses to only wear them once. Have since used them several times and even bought 5 outfits to rotate over the Christmas holidays and parties. It takes the stress out and means can try different styles. Any time I have had an issue or a query, Customer service get right back to me. Obviously, make sure to read the instructions about not taking off the black ribbon until you have checked it over. Some really unique pieces that I have ended up paying to keep too.

I’ve ordered through HireStreet a few times and have never had any issues, so I’m quite disappointed to write this review. I ordered two dresses for an event on the 20th November, in the tracking it mentioned that it had been dispatched and ready to be delivered on that morning, which would have been fine. However, it wasn’t delivered until the next day and I no longer needed the items of course. When I contacted the team to explain for even a partial refund, they just sent a link to their T&Cs which mentioned no refunds. My point is that people rent items for a particular occasion, if they don’t arrive in time, it’s such a waste of time and money. I then had to rush out and buy a new dress to wear for my occasion, so the entire experience was disappointing. I haven’t heard back from them since, but this is just something to make note of.

Was excited to use Hirestreet as a way of limiting my spend on 'black tie' outfits to only be worn once, and with sustainability in mind. Unfortunately I didn't fully read the T&C's, and when the dress arrived and was too big, I was advised there was no refund or credit note permitted on the return of unworn items. I was offered a £10 discount off a replacement, however if that was unsuitable I'd then be looking at being £45 down already before finding an alternative elsewhere. It's a great concept but just make sure you're confident the outfit will fit before going ahead. And speedy customer service from Charlotte too!

Ordered a size 14 dress, correct dress arrived next day but was not a size 14.
Contacted the company and Charlotte responded quickly asking for more information.
Less than 24 hours after raising the issue it was resolved.
Although the dress was unusable the quality was excellent. I would use again without hesitation- based on the service recieved.

I was so excited to order after hearing about a friends amazing experience, but I have recently hired a dress from Hirestreet and was left really disappointed. The dress arrived looking cheap and more importantly, the way it was packaged completely ruined the experience. For a black-tie event, I expected something presented properly, but instead it came crumpled up in a paper bag, which made it feel far from a special occasion outfit. The dress is sequined and so because of the way it was packaged, I had to carefully unravel the entire garment as the sequins were caught on the inner lining.
When I contacted customer service, the response felt generic and didn’t address my actual query about paying an additional £10 to swap my outfit. Instead, I was told about eco/disposable packaging, which doesn’t explain why my friends received their orders in a much better way. It came across as dismissive rather than helpful.
The concept of Hirestreet is excellent in theory, but in practice the execution falls short - both in garment presentation and in customer service.
Sadly, I won’t be using them again. A complete waste of £40.

Was very excited by range of dresses to hire. Chose 1 but My dress arrived not fit for purpose with a bent and misshapen zip. Not suitable for a wedding guest dress, especially due to the light material. They replied - although I was not able to reply back to say - a replacement would not arrive in time> due to not being at home until the day of the event. I’m waiting for a reply. It was kind of them to offer replacement - however since the first dress was not wearable, I just needed them to accept a return and refund as the dress was not fit for purpose. Now waiting for response and refund. They seem helpful but after reading reviews I feel worried I’ve been ripped off with a poor quality dress and have paid out of pocket £25 for the inconvenience and stress.

The model doesn't work. You actually only really get 1-2 weeks of outfits, and you can't control when that is, therefore you can't plan outfits for specific events or days. I'll explain what I mean. It's a monthly subscription but you need to leave 4-5 days for the items to get delivered to you. Then you wear them, but then you need to return it at least a week before your next subscription date, because it takes time for a) it to get delivered back to them, and b) for them to actually process it which also takes a few days. Then once they've received and processed your return, the slots for the next month open up, but you've already eaten into your days most likely. Then you might take a day or two to select your next outfits, then another 4-5 days for it to get delivered...you see the pattern.
Additionally, they have basically no clothing for petite fits. I found that a lot didn't fit me properly so I'd just wasted one of my outfits for the month.

Not a good rental experience. I paid for a
Monthly subscription and yet the items that I returned and that hire street confirmed had been returned were not cleared so I could not rent anything. So for £55 I had nothing. After messaging several times the issue was resolved by Hirestreet.

Hirestreet’s customer service is second to none – they respond quickly, offer practical solutions and always go out of their way to help. It’s also fantastic to have a platform tackling fast fashion’s waste by letting you rent clothes instead of buying new, which makes it easy to refresh your wardrobe more sustainably. Plus, there’s a great range of items to choose from and, as I said, BRILLIANT customer service.

I ordered a dress and when it was delivered it wasn’t in good condition. The dress was for a wedding and it had a hole that had been stitched up on the back of the dress, and it was very tatty and frayed.
I was very disappointed because I had nothing else to wear and had to wear it.

Highly recommended! I recently opted to join the new subscription service, as due to the nature of my role as a busy MD I am regularly at events, and found that by using the subscription service, Hirestreet enabled me to change my wardrobe frequently! In addition I wanted to highlight just how brilliant their delivery service and their support team are, when ever I have needed advice on an order, they are prompt to respond (within 24 hours) and always happy to assist and advise on any items. A special shout out to Charlotte who is just brilliant in the customer support team! In addition to my work wardrobe, I have bulk hired for holidays and weekends away, and have really enjoyed being able to wear the item once and then send it back! I have hired 100's of outfits, and clothing and shoes have arrived often brand new with tags, or in exceptional condition. This concept has converted me away from making far too many impulse fashion purchases and instead wearing an item once and returning it, helps my bank balance and my conscience!

I submitted my last 5 items on subscription well ahead of my next billing date but hirestreet were extremely slow to update and ignored all my emails and texts on the matter - surprise surprise the next billing date has come round and theyve not let me cancel - I wouldnt bother with this there are far better competitors out there

I was skeptical at first buying ex rental, but using hire street is now my first go to when needing an outfit. Their customer service support was amazing and they helped me with my entire experience. To all those skeptics like me - trust them , sometimes that saying too good to be true , really is wrong as the quality of ex rental goods was amazing and the price is even better. Hire street isn’t just for hiring- it’s also for buying. It’s my new wardrobe secret!!
