make sure ur appointment isn’t rush

This vet is really busy…so check ups of my pet was rushed and something was missed that two other vets had picked up… when I rang up on a day my pet was booked and asked if the vet could look at it the receptionist was saying that vets are too busy they have back to back appointments which I understand what I don’t understand is how check ups are rushed and when your paying for a service errors like that could cost a pet their lives can be made!! Tbh I’m really disappointed as I enrolled with this vet practice due to their high reviews.
The vets are nice but need to be more thorough!
Additionally the receptionists need to stop having chitchats about their personal lives (had to wait to ask a simple question)

Liked the vets but the reception…

Liked the vets but the reception ignored you at first and were unhelpful offering procedures about what to do and how long to wait. Very expensive for medicines that can be bought at a supermarket for 25% of their charge.

Consultation fee

Used this vet for the first time it was recommended to me I wouldn't say they are over friendly and the treatment they gave me didn't work so I was making another appointment and the vet tells me I have to pay consultation fee again or most of it which I think it's so unfair not when it was for the same problem!

DO NOT use this company

DO NOT use this company, we rescued a kitten and took him in who was helpless, we went back to feed the same family of cats the next night and they returned a saved kitten to a known animal abuser, lovely bunch of people!

Having called up to find out why they inform me that they don’t help we’ll stray animals and they think it’s acceptable to put it back the animal abuser and tried passing the blame to the RSPCA, the RSPCA have also not helped us. This is quality this. Come to england we’re we allow animal abuse, and help it! Jeezzzzzz

Compassionate and Professional !

Had to take our elderly cat (23 ) today to be helped over the rainbow bridge as she was weak, not eating or drinking for days and suffering , the lady vet I saw was fantastic , explained everything and was so compassionate and professional , shame I didn’t catch her name but she is a credit to Hird & Partners , I held my cat as she was put to sleep , she now has a lovely spot overlooking the house . Thank You !

FAKE

No doubt you aren’t a professional company!
Never seen a company like you!
If any company hire they revert back ,if they reject they revert back .
Not like you who plays with persons emotion.
I was desperately looking for the job, they called me for the interview I gave 2 rounds of interview after they told me that our one of the colleague will coordinate you regarding salary dissociation but you firstly need to share the documents with us( never seen any company asking for documents first and after that offering the salary) and when I shared the documents there is no revert from the company side.

They just play with your emotions , if someone is desperately looking for the job they ignore them .

Went to Hird and partners today I come…

Went to Hird and partners today I come all the way from Leeds as all the vets are extremely experienced and very polite. I trust the vets implicitly.
But I will not put up with the rude attitude of 2 receptionists talking down to me and on numerous occasions and turning to the other receptionists and making faces.
Her bad behaviour was also noticed by another lady and gentleman who looked at me shocked.

Not happy at all absolutely feeling ripped off

Not happy at all. Took my dog for anxiety problems. I was told it was because he was a lock down dog. Absolute load of rubbish they prescribed my dog 15 days of calmex medication weighed him I already new his weight. I was charged £94. I nearly passed out I paid and was not given a receipt or breakdown for the charges to add insult to injury I found out I could have bought the exact same medicine on Amazon for the same about 15 days supply for £9.99. Absolutely fuming and feel very ripped off to say the least. I will not be taking my dog back. I'm so angry 😠

My cat went in for a procedure and came…

My cat went in for a procedure and came out a cash cow. As that is all Hird and partners see your pets as. I don't think it's a coincidence that nearly all their other negative reviews mention how expensive it is (One customer mentions being charged over £500 for X-Rays!)

Our cat went in for a simple de-knotting. We had already gone to the Ripponden Branch who advised that we should take her to Halifax to have the knots combed out but it would require sedation. We had already done this at a local vet in Cheshire who charged around £90 to do this so we got her booked in.

Everything went well until we came to pay. We did a double-take as we were told the cost would be nearly £175. After asking for a break-down I can see you quadruple pay for the sedating as follows:

- Sedation (Charge One) - £42.83
- Antisden - 0.09 ml - £11.49
- DOMITOR - 0.18ml - £12.61
- TORBUGESIC - 0.14ml - £12.04

I dread to think of the sedation charges for a Great Dane..

The de-matting (running through the fur of the cat with a comb) came to a very specific £95.12.
I think it's important for people to make educated decisions and to know what they are paying for. A quick Google search shows that the cost price of 0.09ml of Antisden is £1.03. Hird and partners are charging a 99.1% mark-up on Antisden. The other drugs also have similar markups. So they're charging you once for the sedation (fair enough) and then charging nearly £40 for £3-4 worth for drugs.
After raising my legitimate concerns with them in a complaint by email, I was given a termination notice (Like I would be using them again anyway). Unfortunately, they clearly seek money over service at all costs. I would highly recommend the following vets (if you do not want to pay extortionate prices).

- Friendly Animal Clinic - Sowerby Bridge (After speaking to this vet, the same treatment as listed above was quoted to me as £80-100 Vs £175 from Hirds.
- Donaldson's Vets - Sowerby Bridge
- West Mounts Vets - Halifax

In short, you pay way above average at Hird and Partners and I would recommend registering at one of the above practices. You wouldn't pay £5 for a banana, why do the same with a vet?
