did not send me the free battery as promised in their battery redemption promotion
Batteries failed within 12 months especially 36v 4/8ah and now 18v starting to go as well, reported problem with 36v battery through Hikoki uk online as had tools registered for supposedly 5 year warranty but got back a pfo from some guy “Andy Higgs” even though the battery wasn’t 12 months old at the time. I have 15 cordless tools from Hikoki purchased all within the past 3 years and only 3 batteries out of 12 still working fully, as soon as they go all tools will only be fit for the bin. The tools are great especially the nail guns & table saw but ruined by substandard batteries & non existent warranty. I have a few corded tools from Hikoki- hitachi, they must be heading for 30 years old & never gave any trouble. Clearly from online reviews the 36v 4/8ah batteries are giving trouble so why can’t Hikoki replace them.????
The retail shop has promised that issues with warranty have been sorted out but they shouldn’t be liable for this warranty issue.
Purchased a 36v Hikoki Drill for serious DIY (not trade use) after only a few weeks the speed control became erratic and pulsed. Accent tools replaced it under warranty but only after a major hassle, in the end I had to get it independently assessed this has now happened three times yes three speed controllers later I'm sick of it. Accent tools deny any problem and have blocked me from any further communication, they have also removed honest feedback from there Web page. BEWARE. When Hitachi left so did the quality.
I have a bunch of cordless hikoki tools and work them hard, love the 18/36v platform
3 drills (18v)
2 impactguns 320NM, 770NM (18v and 36v)
hamerdrill (36v)
angle grinder (36v)
chopsaw (36v)
Oscillating Tool (18v)
8 18/36v (5,0/2,5ah) batteries,
2 18/36v (8,0/4,0ah) batteries,
1 18v (5,0ah) battery
Had most of those for years and work with them professionally. Haven't had a broken battery.
have worn the gears of 1 of my 18v drills (but use the drill for drilling thick and large holes in metal all the time). (10mm t 13+mm dia)
Bought a cordless drill just over 5 years ago (out of warranty) and its packed up. Only ever used for DIY not trade. I asked customer service if there was a way I can get it repaired and the shop they directed me to (40 mins drive to get there) no longer service Hikoki because Hikoki service department don't respond to them when they ask for spare parts. It was a good drill while it worked but I've had a second hand DeWalt drill and a cheap Screwfix drill that's lasted longer. Won't buy again
I registered for the 5 year warranty program and my 1st fix nailgun stop sinking nails after about 2 years, emailed hikoki warranty team and had a delivery slip emailed within 1 hour and was told to print it off and let him know when it was ready to go, soon as it was ready I emailed and within 10 mins had a slot for the next day. The nailgun came back repaired within 2 working days, so not much down time, if I could give more stars I would. Thanks a lot and I will be sure to keep buying hikoki 💪 💪
HIKOKI use 3rd party repair shops for warranty services , the organisation IS shocking. The 2nd fix nail gun came back more broken then I send it off .It stopped sending nails out ,it was producing pressure dow ,but it came back with broken nail pusher and still with not sending nails . I have shot 1 box of nails . Serial number J620112
Tools are very good but have the last straw with Hikoki batterys. Throwing $200 batterys in the bin has worn me out. I am now moving to Dewalt and Milwakee. You need to do something about battery quallity or give 2yr warrantee
Tools are brilliant but having issues with the 36v multi volt 4/8ah batteries. Tried filling out request form online for replacement but just doesn’t work tried ringing but very rarely answer phone and when did get through very unhelpful. This is becoming hard work thinking of selling my multi volt tools and going over to Makita 40v now.
Sent a Hikoki machine for repair under warranty over 6 weeks ago. Customer service is awful..machine has not been returned and unable to get through on phone over a period of days. No replies to emails or voice messages. Shame as the machines are good quality but the back up is non-existent..important when you are usinga tool on a daily basis
