The checkout experience is ALWAYS AWFUL at ALL your locations. In the past two weeks, I rented at SFO and OGG and in both cases getting my car was slow and painful, you were horribly understaffed and the cars were in mediocre condition. At OGG, the car I was originally given was dirty and one of the seatbelts was broken. I’m a gold member and my name is NEVER properly listed on the board, then I have to go inside, and it just gets worse from there. At OGG, I can say one positive thing was the staff seemed legitimately interested in trying to help, but Hertz is such a mess overall, that it puts them in an IMPOSSIBLE situation. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again for personal travel. My corporation forces us to use Hertz sometimes so I guess I’ll continue to deal with it on a work front. Ugh, you guys really suck at a leadership level. Please make some better decisions related to staffing and process so you don’t suck so much.
Poor customer service
Poor customer service. Got a flat tire on July 4th and drove on the donut for 2 days. Upon return was charged 150.00 for the tire to be repaired. The whole experience was awful.

Prompt service, the car we were given had a tire very low on air. We didn’t make it more than a mile down the road and had to turn around, While the staff hustled to get us in another car we did have to wait about 30 minutes for the switch. The 1st car should have been inspected before it was assigned.
Not one of the best rental locations
This time there were plenty of cars available unlike my experience 3 weeks earlier when there were about 3 to choose from. However the vehicle had not been cleaned—bird doo all over the windshield. Automatic headlights weren’t working. I removed the automatic fuel refill upon booking it on the app and returned it full but I was still charged for a full refill. Worst of all it’s extremely difficult to get in touch with a human to help with anything, even harder to understand the phone reps.

Excellent customer service. I've been renting on a consistent basis for the last 3 years and never been disappointed. Sivo is always accommodating and will upgrade me to the best rental available as a President Club member.
Ease of pick up.
9 times out of 10
9 times out of 10, the Union Station/Washington DC location doesn't have a vehicle available, regardless of booking days in advance. If you're waitlisted, you won't get a call. If you do get a car, it's filthy and/or has a check engine light. One time the car doors wouldn't lock and i couldn't return it because the location was closed. Management are thieves and make employees purposely overcharge by registering the vehicle return time later than the actual return time or claiming the car needed gas. Take pictures for proof, because you'll need it for corporate, since location doesn't have a phone for customers.

This Hertz rental at TUC went pretty well. I did head right out to the cars as this is where the Gold Card members usually find a list with their names on it. Instead, I needed to go back to the rental counter. For some reason, my reservation was there but my folio had not been printed and was not ready as it usually is. This was taken care of quickly and I was given my folio and keys and I was headed back to the cars. The car was nearly new and worked great and the return process was fast and easy. All in all a nice experienc.
