Top seller
Top seller. Top 1.
I always buy shoes from this online store. Their service is fast and expert. The products arrive very quickly and in excellent condition, all from prestigious, original brands. Returns are very easy and free because the return labels are included in the box. It's one of the best stores I know, and I know many. I live in Spain, and everything has been easy; I haven't had to pay customs fees because shipping is already included in the very affordable rates.

Dreadful Quality and Unprofessional management
These shoes are dreadful. I purchased a pair of Herring Carnaby shoes about 18 months ago. After approximately 4 months a fault appeared on the toe. I reported this to Herring and dealt with their Customer Adviser to whom I sent a photograph of the fault.
The advice I received was that the shoes could do with a good clean and to use restorative products. Even though such advice was ridiculous with the shoes being less than four months old and only worn on a limited number of occasions, I followed the advice but to no effect.
The Customer Adviser was, in my opinion rude with limited communication skills so I referred the matter to the MD who proved to be another with similar qualities. His email was extremely unprofessional and used the same unacceptable language as the Adviser. The MD then decided that Herring would offer no assistance whatsoever.
The shoes were never physically examined. I offered to return the shoes but instead they relied upon the photograph. Over the next year the shoes were worn on occasional outings but the shoe which previously had the fault faded so that there was a noticeable difference between the colour of the left and right shoes, with the original fault remaining. Then, they actually fell apart with the heel becoming detached from the shoe. What a waste of money.

Great shoes but need shipping improvement.
Great shoes. Nice attractive and premium box that also comes with a tin of shoe polish and as expected with premium shoes a shoe horn and dust bags. I did find however, that you should not have to pay for shipping on a premium brand, and especially not having to pay more for a return label. Secondly there needs options to deliver to a collection point like other retailers.

Great communication and support
Great communication and support. Prompt, helpful and when I had an issue with a purchase they sorted it all quickly. Great quality products of course!
Great Customer Service & Product Range
I was looking for a variety on the Paraboots which is hard to find in London other than the "Michael". I purchased the Avignon and the shoes are delivered, fit great and exactly as I would like 5/5.
The real positive experience starts after. Initially the DHL delivery had a hiccup in their systems and Chris and co-workers were on it right away, they managed to resolve the issue. I later rang Herring shoes to discuss a concern and again, Chris was very reasonable and supported me through my concern. I wish every company would hire logical, self-aware and well spoken employees 5/5 for customer service. Would 100% recommend and would shop there again.
I love quality footwear.........
I love quality footwear and I make no apology for it! I own a few pairs of expensive boots but on the other side of the coin, I also own and wear several much cheaper pairs. One of the cheaper pairs needed a repair and a local boot mender was recommended to me. While I was speaking with him, he told me about the boots that he had just brought from Herring Shoes. I decided to have a look at their website. They are not cheap but also not horrendously expensive. I found a pair of all leather slip on shoes that really look the part. I ordered them and in just a few days they arrived. The packaging yells quality and the complimentary shoe cream and shoe horn are a nice touch. I did have a minor problem with my order, which was sorted out within minutes without any fuss or hassle. The shoes are wonderful, smart and very comfortable, all leather and made in Portugal which makes a refreshing change from being mass produced in Bangladesh or China, not that there's anything wrong in that and I do have shoes that were made in China. But the new shoes are a fabulous addition. Great footwear coupled with second-to-none customer service! Herring Shoes are a great find. Brian B
5 Star Company
Ordered a pair of trainers arrived within 48 hours as promised.
Packed beautifully and a free bottle of cream is a lovely gesture.
My shoes arrived in its branded box with all correct packaging.
Thank you will definitely be back
It's a scam / ES UNA ESTAFA
It's a scam. I received some black, synthetic leather shoes in black color with no design and certainly not even similar to the ones I chose and paid for. SCAM

My New One-stop Shop for Men's Footwear
All in all, Herring is a superb one-stop shop for men’s footwear that customers across the globe should rely on. Let me explain why.
Over the last few months, I've ordered from Herring on three occasions. As an expatriate living on the other side of the world in Malaysia, I've been amazed at how quickly I receive Herring's shipments from the U.K. If the items don't need to be sourced from the manufacturer, then the order ships the same day or the following day - and I receive it within four days! Moreover, Herring makes orders for customers outside the U.K. a breeze by allowing them to pay import duties up front, meaning their orders are delivered fully landed. As a result, international customers avoid the hassle of settling import duties on their own and dealing with delayed deliveries.
Beyond the ordering experience, Herring not only offers its own product line but also offers an impressive range of footwear from four other British brands of note (Cheaney, Barker, Tricker’s, Loake) and an esteemed Portuguese brand (Carlos Santos). In all likelihood, Herring purveys the largest selection of dress shoes/boots of any retailer in the U.K. The best part is Herring tends to sell footwear from other brands at much lower prices than those brands list on their own websites - and I’m talking about discounts of £100 or more. Herring also has generous sales throughout the year and issues customers with 10% discount codes after every purchase.
As to the footwear itself, the styles range from smart casual to formal, and Herring helpfully provides the country of manufacture for every model on its website. While the footwear made in India is acceptable for everyday wear and could do in a pinch for dressier occasions, the footwear made in the U.K. and Portugal is markedly better in key areas (quality of the leather, sole material, stitching, finishing, etc.). In my opinion - which is based on my experiences wearing shoes sourced from the three aforementioned countries - a person pressed for money would be better served buying one pair of British-made shoes on sale (or one pair of Portuguese-made shoes) instead of several pairs of Indian-made shoes, but your mileage may vary.
Cheerio and happy shoe shopping!
Beautiful plumage.
I bought three pairs of tassel loafers from Herring. Two Herring own brand and one Barker.
Both Herring pairs were of substandard quality. The Barker ones were just faulty.
I contacted them. They said that "believe it or not" the first Herring pair wasn't substandard, despite the tassels being offset on one shoe. I didn't believe it; call me cynical.
The other pair they said were fine, "it must be your feet". I am however the proud owner of feet for which other shoe makers do not struggle to make shoes, which don't crease diagonally when I put them on (only on the left).
They said that the faulty Barkers weren't faulty, they had a "characteristic".
So I contacted Barker, who said "of course they are faulty, they should never have gone out".
Herring then ran with "Yebbut our T&Cs say if you wear them you've accepted them". It would be lovely if business were that simple. I would be selling wonky shoes to the masses at volume, safe in the knowledge that my T&Cs defended me from any trivial consumer rights nonsense.
So I decided to return the lot and not accept a replacement for the faulty Barkers, which I otherwise liked.
The response from Herring, "but we haven't done anything wrong".
Barker has now directly supplied me with the same shoes, at the same price, free from faults... sorry "characteristics".
Throughout all of this, I could not shake from my mind the dead parrot sketch. If you are unfamiliar, I suggest you look it up. Beautiful plumage, the Norwegian Blue...
I have given them two stars because, after their silly arguments, they did refund promptly.
Why do so many people exaggerate?
Why do so many people exaggerate? So far so good, but who knows what will happen after using a company many times over a long period?
Fantastic boots by Herring
I've several pairs of high-end boots but Trickers, Loake and RM Williams and my Herring boots I bought in the sale are just as good. I love them! So comfortable, right out the box. Really good price on the sale too. Highly recommended.
Easy to deal with and great customer service
easy to deal with, great service, and I like the quality of the Herring Shoes, which offer very good ratio of quality to cost. Nothing hidden, no smoke and mirrors, I own 2 pairs of Herring branded boots, which are made in India. I've not had to have either pair resoled yet, but they look like they will rebuild well enough.
Advised on purchasing a pair of Carlos…
Advised on purchasing a pair of Carlos Santos shoes saying that they were the same quality a Cheaney. I went ahead. After wearing the pair on maybe 15 to 20 occasions, I noticed loss of colour on the toe caps and vamp. Also noticed that the leather superficial layer was lifting off the undersurface. Given advice by Sean who basically told me that some chemical had come into contact with the shoes.
After long emails, they decided that the customer was wrong and that was it. £300 pounds on a pair of shoes rendered cosmetically unwearable compared to all my other shoes, some older and much cheaper.
Anyway, I told them put them in the bin.
Was told by Chris that Herring own brand is by Carlos Santos. It seems from other reviews that their own brand i.e. Carlos Santos aren't that great. Cheaney they are not. They aren't even up to Loake standard, even the Design range.
Basically they seem happy to lose a good customer with a genuine complaint.
Very poor show all round. Will not be buying from them again.
I made an on line purchase for a pair of shoes.
I made an on line purchase for a pair of shoes on the christmas day & requested the shoes to be delivered after the new year holidays. It was a brand new but discounted item at 50% the original price. The shoes arrived in pristine condition, nicely packed up in the original box with dust bags, extra laces & a tin of Herrings shoe cream. Mr Sean Prowse rom the customer services was extremely helpful & kept me updated step by step through out until I received the shoes. It was a wonderful experience & was my 2nd purchase from the Herring shoes. I would certainly purchase in future from them & strongly recommend any one this company.
