Excellent advice and service

I have never used this company before today but I’ve been so impressed with them. Henry Smith went well beyond what I would ever have expected in trying to help me find the correct items and fittings required. His manner was very friendly and he had an attitude of nothing was too much trouble. I needed quite a bit of advice but I never felt a nuisance.

Bought an expensive tsunami puddle pump…

Bought an expensive tsunami puddle pump within a couple of months we found oil mixing with the clean water it was pumping from a cellar, failed oil seal I thought lets return to tsunami as pump is well in warranty
Blame was firmly put on my customer and no replacement or fix was even offered although they would return the broken pump at my expence
I as a drainage company purchase around 200 pumps per year and will certainly not be buying anything with the name tsunami or from supplier Henry Pumps again.

Sadly this pump was purchased online with no technical advice being sought beforehand and the end user (not the reviewer) used the pump in a basement where a washing machine was discharging into the sump. The detergents in the water caused the rubber components of the pump to swell - as they would any similar pump, and this allowed an ingress of water into the motor housing. The pumps are not sold to handle chemicals and detergents. Sorry you feel we didn't meet with your expectations but in this scenario it simply is not covered under warranty. Our MD did try to contact you to reach a middle ground but to date you have not responded. Good luck for the future.

AVOID. Henry Pumps has been appalling from start to finish.

Our experience with Henry Pumps has been appalling from start to finish.
The pump failed within five minutes of first use. Despite advertising it as suitable for construction site drainage, they later claimed it was “clean water only” and used this to refuse the warranty. When we asked them to explain the contradiction between their own datasheet and their claims, they repeatedly avoided answering.
They also made us pay to return it for inspection, then took over a week just to send the returns form. Several emails were ignored, and when responses finally came, they were blunt, dismissive and frankly rude.
Instead of addressing the issue or taking any responsibility, they pushed chargeable repair options for a pump that didn’t even last minutes. The product was not as described, the warranty process was obstructive, and their attitude was unprofessional throughout.
We had planned to order two more pump, absolutely not now.

Avoid this company at all costs.!!!

No contradiction at all. You purchased a pump which is sold for clean water as clearly outlined on the product information page. You then used it in dirty water. You telephoned to report the pump as not pumping, we carried out some fault finding over the telephone where you confirmed you could hear the motor humming but it was not pumping water. This is a classic tell-tale sign of a blockage in the pump end. We advised you to remove the bottom end and unclog the impeller and even sent a guide showing you how to do so, but instead you insisted on returning the product to us. We did advise it would be a chargeable repair if we find it is simply blocked. You still chose to send it in which is fine. We received it, removed the bottom end to sure enough find the pump jammed with stones. We cleaned the pump and sent a repair bill as agreed beforehand. You were still not satisfied. You cannot win with some. You were also extremely rude to our staff during telephone conversations which are recorded and I would be happy to attach them if you like so users can see for themselves who was professional and who was rude.

Simply the Best!!

Very much a case of good old-fashioned service meets 21st century technology. From the advice given on my initial (panicking) phone call to the delivery of a replacement basement sump pump less than 24 hours later, Henry Pumps exceeded all expectations. Very highly recommended.

Henry pump are very helpful and pleasant

I phoned Henry pump and spoke to Henry about advise on a pump to supply our heat pump system. We spoke for about 25 minutes with out me placing an order. About a week later I phoned again and got more advice. He identified a pump that would do us given all the variants of our installation. I still did not order it as some one else said they had already ordered a replacement.
The replacement one did not turn up, So I phoned Henry pumps again, spoke to Henry who was very understanding and patient and got a pump to us over night.
It is extremely pleasant to find a company that takes time to help some one even if they might not get an order.

Don't Get Ripped off -Go to Henry Pumps !

I had a leaking booster pump on swimming pool sweep. Start of year, start up May'25). The pump ran immediately, but was leaking water from the top of the bell housing. I switched off and called a local pump maintenance company in Ash Vale, Aldershot. I had used them before for rewinds. Having just got out of hospital after an appendix operation, I was not able to crouch down to remove the pump and deliver it.
I requested an urgent call out for them to collect. They took a £150 deposit as per their written terms and arranged for 2 'engineers' to call in to remove the pump. They arrived at 4:00pm, was on site20 mins, including time for a beer, as it was a hot day.
They took the pump away for the workshop to assess the problem for repair. After a week, I received an invoice for another £142 on top of the deposit. Their official findings: Beyond economical repair! Quote £900 for replacement, or £1100+ Vat to install. This is a mains lead and two screw-up pipe fittings, no pipework.
I collected the pump and took a closer look. There was no evidence of any work done, no tool marks on screws, alun nuts and no grip marks. The mains lead was still taped up, so also not run.
Via a web search, I lucked into Henry Pumps at Brampton, Chesterfield. SO40 1DY. I spoke to Jamie there, who showed far more interest and was also prepared to look at my old pump as well. His first suggestion, based on the spec. of my old pump, was £275. An exact match, like for like was £350 incl. vat and delivery. I decided to go for the new matching same pump as the old one had done well and the pipework would be the same. New pump arrived, I connected her up and off she went, perfect. Minor confusion over terminal connections, but Jamie soon sorted this with a picture, via What's App.
Now to the GOOD bit: Jamie arranged collection of my old pump, yes the, "Beyond economical repair one!" They were up to the eyes in work, but 2 weeks later, I received a call. "Yup, all fixed." says Jamie.
A dab of silicon sealant and some 'ptfe' tape, did the trick. They charged me an hour's labour and included the courier costs. If Henry pumps don't deserve a 5* rating, I don't know what does! I would definitely give them 6* gold stars, and recommend them 100%. Thank you Jamie and Henry.
best,
Roger Bayley.

After recieving my basement sum pump I…

After just reading your disappointing reply to my very honest review I would like to stress that as you know and all my emails say the pump is not used for outdoor dirty water, but in an external plant room that was letting in small amounts of clean rain water, I also made a point of phoning your company and explaining my issue before I made the purchase and this was the pump I was advised to use. (if you are going to respond to reviews you need to be honest, please remember I have all the emails and original literature from your website which I am happy to post) and this reply only adds insult to injury, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. basement sump pump I found it did not work, I contacted Henry Pumps and they advised that I take it apart to make sure it was set up correctly, I reluctantly did this as I did not want to appear difficult but was concerned it would invalidate the warrenty, they assured me this would not happen, after doing what they explained it still did not work, I was told I had to send it back to them and pay for the postage even though it had never worked, once they received it they said I had put it back together incorrectly and charged me £68 even though I had done exactly as they asked, once I received it back it worked for approximately two weeks and then stopped working again, I had to send it back to Henry pumps again at my own cost and this time they said it was because dirty water had passed through the pump and caused it to block, this is despite the literature on their website saying particles of up to 3mm could pass through it and it was suitable for basements which was why I bought it (They have recently amended the literature on their website to say clean water pump) even though they still say it can be used in basements! The bottom line is the pump was very expensive and does not do what was described the on the phone and originally on their website, I would highly recomend you purchase from another reputable retailer.

Mr Jepp,

I am deeply saddened by the poor review you have left us and feel that it is unjustified.

You called for assistance in choosing a puddle pump with a crab sensor, where advice was given to you correctly as per your requested requirements.

It was mentioned to you, on said conversation that this pump is made for clean water only and you said it was for rain water and would be in a clean environment.

An RSD400 with Crab was suggested by yourself and agreed by myself, as you said it was being used in clean water.
Your pump was situated in a pump station pit\sump and was required to keep the area free from flooding.

After a short while of you using the pump, you called to say that the pump wasn’t staying primed, to which I instantly advised you to clean the pump end of the pump as it may contain dirt – a common problem with this pump when used in dirtier water conditions, this you did however unsuccessfully, so you sent the pump back for analysis and repair – this we did for you and discovered that the pump was indeed full of crud from the pit it had been sat in and was the obvious cause of the non-return valve obstruction.

The pump was sent back to you and was working for a while, until you called us again to say that the pump wasn’t staying primed again and the at the Crab sensor was now damaged.
The same advice was given again regarding the cleanliness of the water\pit where the pump was situated.

We picked up the pump at our cost and once again cleaned out the pump end and made good. We added a new Crab sensor and I tested this pump thoroughly over a week to ensure it was doing it’s job correctly, and it did. We then sent the working pump back to you, all at our cost as a gesture of good will.

You have once again reported that the pump is not staying primed and I truly feel that this pump is not suitable for your application as your pit contains dirt which is being sucked into the machine and is the root cause of the issue – it is obvious that my idea of clean water and yours is totally different.

If you had of stated that the pump was required for a dirty water\outdoor application I would’ve recommended something more robust.

I strive on making our customers happy and am proud of my reviews and would like to make this better for you.
If you could contact me directly, I can recommend a more suitable unit for your application, now I know what I am dealing with.

With thanks,

Jamie Stafford
