I would leave less stars if possible…

I would leave less stars if possible the whole holiday was a shambles we arrived on 18th September stayed in 8 sycamore avenue it was supposed to be silver grade .. as I walked it in smelt there was stains all over the sofa and puffes there was no dining table chairs the table in the living area was broken my child got stuck in the bathroom the door would only open from the outside the light outside never worked when it was turned on it just flashed on and off constantly. There was foot prints on the bottom of the bed sheet the blind in the bathroom was broke pulled it down you couldn't open it we spent the first day night stuck in the caravan waiting for things to be fixed and cleaned. After the sofa got cleaned it was un usable had to put all the sofa cushions near the radiators to try to dry them out as they gave us sheets to put on the wet sofa obviously it just soaked straight through. I tried to pay for upgrade just to get us out of that caravan but apparently there wasn't anything so had to stick it out with no seating. Couldn't leave as my child would of been very upset they had been waiting a long time to go .. I made a complaint and still am yet to here anything back no apologies not happy I stayed at blue dolphin in a bronze and that was so much better than the so called silver grade at primrose valley

Perrans Sands, Cornwall.

Had a fantastic week in the October sunshine.
Booked a 3-bed bronze pet friendly caravan and it was great. The caravan was clean, tidy, spacious and very comfortable. Added bonus of a dishwasher. It was located on a nice quiet section of the park which was idea for us. The surrounding area and Perranporth beach is beautiful

Sold our static caravan on Haven

Sold our static caravan on Haven Lakeland. The money was paid to Haven in full by the purchasers. It's Haven's policy that all payments have to be paid through them. 5 weeks later Haven still hadn't give us the money. They then decided my signatures didn't match on the paperwork even though they watched me sign and I would have to resign. Why this took 5 weeks I don't know. Two more weeks have passed and we still haven't got the money. It seems to me that they will do anything to keep the money in their account to make interest. I would advise people never to buy a caravan at a Haven site.

Disgusting bed mattresses and dirty bedding.Check your mattresses and bed linen for cleanliness on arrival before you unpack.

CEO copied into complaint emails and does not respond, he must think this is acceptable for paying guests!

Disgusting bed mattresses and dirty bedding.Check your mattresses and bed linen for cleanliness on arrival before you unpack.
Burnham on Sea
Unacceptable mattress conditions and a complaints department that seems to think £50 will make it all go away

The condition of the mattresses at Haven Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Village was absolutely unacceptable and raises serious questions about the standards of accommodation preparation and inspection.

One mattress was stained on both sides, with marks resembling dried blood and urine, alongside a black stain and other suspicious marks. The mattress protector and bedding were also stained. A replacement mattress supplied by staff had a further stain resembling urine on one corner.

The replacement mattress was then unpacked inside the caravan while still expanding, producing an overpowering chemical or manufacturing smell that persisted for several days. Despite the strength of the smell, we were advised that it was suitable to sleep on after approximately an hour.

Why were mattresses and bedding in this condition in accommodation that was supposedly checked before guests arrived? Why was a stained replacement mattress supplied, and on what basis was the newly unpacked mattress considered suitable for use so quickly?

These are not minor housekeeping oversights. They raise legitimate concerns about inspection procedures, cleanliness and whether stained mattresses, protectors and bedding are being properly assessed before being used by incoming guests.

There were further problems: damaged decking that appeared to have been held together with a USB cable, a heavily stained carpet that still had a prominent stain after shampooing, cigarette butts and rubbish left outside, and a strong cigarette smoke smell throughout the caravan, particularly in the kitchen.

I also saw a rat on the decking immediately outside the caravan’s French doors. On departure, fresh linen intended for incoming guests was stored in sealed plastic bags on the same decking. I cannot say that the linen was contaminated, but the circumstances raised reasonable questions about how clean linen was protected from pests, moisture and environmental contamination.

The paid-for internet was also frequently unavailable.

I reported these problems during our stay. Staff attended, replacement mattresses were supplied, the decking was repaired and the carpet was shampooed. However, some problems remained, and these attempts at remedial work do not answer the wider questions about how the accommodation passed its pre-arrival checks.

I subsequently submitted a formal complaint supported by photographs and asked Haven to address the specific concerns. The response has been deeply disappointing. Haven has offered a £50 holiday voucher and declared it to be its final offer, without adequately addressing the substance of my complaint.

I requested £350 in financial compensation, a separate refund of the unreliable internet charge and a meaningful written response explaining how these problems occurred and what would be done to prevent them happening again.

The impression given by the complaints department is that this is a case of offering a token gesture and expecting the customer to go away. My specific concerns deserve proper answers, not a blanket statement that the issues were dealt with during the stay and that £50 is the final offer.

Haven may consider this complaint closed, but I certainly do not. I will not simply accept a £50 voucher and walk away when my concerns about mattresses, hygiene and accommodation standards have not been properly addressed. I intend to pursue the matter through the appropriate channels and share my honest experience so that other holidaymakers can make an informed decision.

A “final offer” does not make the underlying problems disappear, and a voucher does not demonstrate that the complaint has been properly investigated or resolved.

Think carefully before booking if you expect clean, properly inspected mattresses and a meaningful response when things go wrong. Based on my experience, Haven needs to take its accommodation standards and complaint handling far more seriously.

We stayed at Burnham on Sea and had a really lovely holiday. The site is well kept and staff were friendly and helpful. The caravan we stayed in was clean and warm with central heating and double glazing. We had a nice and relaxing time and enjoyed our time there.

Avoid Burnham on Sea

Spent a week at Havens Burnham on Sea site and mostly it was a disappointing holiday. Dirty nappies in the pool toilets, sinks blocked with toilet paper, shows cancelled without telling anyone, so spent 45 mins sitting waiting for nothing, ice cream shop and bars missing items on their menus, overcrowded entertainment venue, with buggies and wheels in the walk ways and our daughter ended up injuring herself on some faulty play equipment in the kids pool. Possibly the worst Haven experience I’ve had and wouldn’t be returning

Craig Tara

Craig Tara. We went at peak time over the Scottish October week. Plenty to do on the park. Lots of options for food. Clean and well maintained. Only issue we had was the swimming pool was closed one morning. But they gave us options to come back later or a double swim slot the next day. Dog friendly caravan. Efficient cleaning staff and caravan well maintained.

First and last time booking with Haven…

First and last time booking with Haven Craig Tara. 5 Electric Brae Silver Van

Decided to try haven Craig Tara for the October midweek and wish we hadn’t bothered.

We were expecting a decent enough van since the area is less than 2 years old and meant to be a new development on the park.

The app said we could park at the van and use the site up to 2 hours before the 4pm check in, so we arrived at the van and found that most people around us were already able to get into their accommodation. The cleaner’s car was in our space so we parked outside on the road area thinking we would maybe hang around as would potentially get into the accommodation soon.

The cleaner came out and told us that we should go to reception and ask for another van as the van was inhabitable as it had loads of major faults and that she had been cleaning for hours and it was really bad and she needed her boss to come see just how bad it was. She said the previous family who hired it had logged issues and were raising complaints already for a refund. She told us that the pull out bed was broken (we needed this as a family of 6).

We drove down to reception and queued in the big queue and passed on the info to be told that the cleaner shouldn’t have told us this and that she was exaggerating. They asked if she was a “silly wee young girl” and said to give it til the check in time as they had an onsite maintenance team to rectify any issues.

We drove back up (the van was a fair distance from the reception and complex) and the cleaner then invited us in to show the state of the van. She said she had a shift from hell and couldn’t be a part of the mess anymore due to how bad the vans were and she told us some stories of the things she was having to deal with/ state the vans were being left in. She told us that the shower room had been flooded somehow so the shower was full of mould that she had nothing to fix it with. The furnishings were manky too. She again said “you cannot stay in this van”.

We drove back down to reception and queued again and we explained that my daughter has neutropenia and I myself - less than 3 weeks post op from major surgery and had actually came to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and attempt to recover and have the kids kept busy and entertained, but couldn’t afford for either of us to catch an infection. She fobbed us off and told us we needed to give it til 5pm despite check in being from 4pm and that it would be fixed. We left again and waited in the brigs bar until 4:45 (again it was my mum’s bday and we had spent the day back and forth at reception)

We went back to the van to hopefully finally check in to find the disgusting stains, the sofa was sunk in the middle due to the broken sofa bed, the cooker was completely broken and didn’t work, both showers were manky with black mould which seemed to have traveled out to the carpets in the bedrooms and living area.

We went back down again and got the manager Jennifer this time, who told us how the maintenance team would reseal the shower and fix a brand new oven that day and it would be an urgent repair. It was now way after 5pm and I again explained about my daughter’s low immune system, my recent surgery and my mum’s now ruined birthday. She promised it would be fixed immediately. It was only when we returned back to the van and realised the floor was so so wet, and upon closer look, realised that the toilet was actually leaking causing large puddles of “sewage” water. The fridge also didn’t even have an inside tray on the door and the decking was full of algae and moss. 🤮

A maintenance man appeared right away and said he was there to only fix the sofa bed. We showed him the issues and he agreed that it was toilet water and said “go back down, you can’t stay here.” He also said not to accept one of the emergency vans as they were equally as bad. We couldn’t stay here unless we really wanted to risk our health.

We went back down to reception and queued for the final time and the manager Jennifer was still trying to fob us off. She claimed there was nowhere else to put us but tbh we were done by now and wanted to leave.

We asked for a full refund and she gave us a slip of paper agreeing to the refund.

We were told we would get a refund within 28 working days!!? So that was it?!🤷🏼‍♀️ we couldn’t drive out the place fast enough! We also had bags of refrigerated food that had now been in the car for hours. We had to bin it as we knew it would be done by the time we had driven back home! We also lost out on the costs of the activities we had booked for the kids through the app.

We shall see if and when we get my money back! No doubt it will be intervention from my credit card company!

This is not a review I ever wanted to…

This is not a review I ever wanted to post. We were staying at Haggerston Castle, through Haven, at 16 Carnoustie. Apart from anything else, it is right at the back of a huge park meaning if you want to get anywhere you need to drive/factor in a 30 minute walk! The van itself, disgusting! The sofa stinks of wet dog and pee, the carpet is so badly stained, and the dishes needed washed before they were used! I had to bin a manky used toothbrush and take rubbish out of bedroom drawers. When I complained I was told “I’ll send cleaners back in”. Went for breakfast, came back and they had stripped the SEAT covers off the couch. That left nowhere to sit on our return! Called again “oh…..I’ll send them back”! Well!! Ok then, so asked for a move…nope, nowhere to go! Avoid this park and this van at all costs!! Normally Haven is a great break, not this time! Will there be any resolution? Absolutely not! Just save your money and plan for somewhere better….like your nice clean home!

Rockley Park is GREAT. Prestatyn is AWFUL!

Rockley Park was great, with a lovely clean modern caravan, but we nearly didn't bother after the HORRIBLE PRESTATYN caravan a week earlier (it was old, scruffy, trim missing, very dirty, with noisy trains right outside the back window from 5am !!!) The site was huge with too many caravans crammed in, far away from too few car parks. I now know why they had late availability!
How can Haven have such different sites? Rockley Park at Poole is super !

We stayed at Rockley Park

We stayed at Rockley Park, Dorset and the staff were friendly, caravan was clean, although the cooker was dirty. My main gripe is that someone with a pass key to the caravan took 100 (5 packs) of cigarettes stacked on my dressing table, no one owned up of course.
Anyone going to Rockley Park should not eat at the Barrel and Mash on site, over priced very small portions and young staff not interested in comments/complaints

Saver carvan

Reighton Sands, for a 3 night stay,.Saver carvan, & definitely that. Although its excellent value for money, I think they need a revamp. Bit more modern interior would be beneficial. Very squashed in bedrooms. Found it awkward with a pushchair. I get the curtains as a beach effect theme, but outdated. Hole in lino & edging coming of on seating base.. that's the negative..staff are friendly & helpful. Booking straight forward location is good. Entertainment fair for families. Generally overall good, just a few tweaks. Nevertheless enjoyable.
