Not the best site for owners
Since Travel Chapter took over Harrogate Holiday Cottages it has not provided the same personal level of attention for owners.
I frequently tried to call the team and a message said “phone back during office hours” despite the fact I always phoned during office hours!
The commission is much higher than the other holiday let sites such as HomeAway and Airbnb yet there is a better customer service from these sites.
Loved it had a very good experience
Tenter Turret review
I phoned Harrogate Holidays today to ask about how to share my experience of renting Tenter Turret in Knaresborough. I was not impressed with the response which was essentially to take the issues up with the owner. There was no advice about how to submit a review. I had already raised issues with the owner this but wanted to make the point that there didn't seem to be an open and transparent way for people to share their experience of renting this property. The person I spoke to didnt budge from the line of 'take it up with the owner'. We would certainly not have rented it if we had prior notice of the lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance and health and safety risks.
Excellent
We have stayed at Beckwithshaw twice and would rate Harrogate Hollidays very highly indeed. Sydney Marsh
The Friendliest, lovely hosts . Beautiful setting and cottage we have every stayed in.
We were very warmly meet by Amanda who was in her jodhpurs and doing her yard duties and her horses. Home from home. The Barn was huge lots of room for the four of us. Mum and Dad had the bathroom and we used the shower room downstairs. The bedrooms were lovely. Very light and bright everywhere. Could live here. Great location as in countryside but near Auntie Pat's in Harrogate. Met Amanda's folks, a real family concern. Her Dad is still farming . A definite holiday next time we are up here. Love it. Plus got a hug and kiss when we left. Will be on my Christmas card list this year.
great place - just a couple of niggles
We stayed at the Harrogate apartment / cottage for 6 people for 2 nights.
It was easy to find.. nice n clean...
As stated the 3rd room was a pull out bed but was ok for a crash down....
The second bedroom had no catch or lock on it and so did nt shut properly - no privacy - also had 2 bulbs gone in the bathroom so was a bit dark...
Its lovely and clean and there is a checklist for the visitor to keep it like that but was disappointed with outside as ther were cigarette butts scattered around the seat n table outside at the rear.
Instructions were clear and we did enjoy the time but it was nt cheap so expected a higher spec.... when we have stayed at other places ... this was the most expensive... the spes and facilities have been much more superior.
Not a criticism... maybe a look to a refurb....
Cute comfy cottage in the centre of busy market town
The Old Cottage was a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. Situated just off an alleyway and two minutes walk from the shops, this was perfect for exploring Knaresborough. The owners had thought of everything to make holidaymakers feel restful and at home. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully presented throughout. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.
Not good value for money, very noisy
I would not recommend this apartment. There was no milk left so we could not make a hot drink when we arrived late. Although the apartment was clean and presentable we missed opening windows that you could see out of, rather than roof lights and opaque non opening windows which made the flat feel clostraphobic.the main problem was noise of revellers from the night club next door, and bottles being emptied at 4.00am under the bedroom window , with a cheery 'morning- wakey wakey ' by a very pleasant worker from the club.this flat may be fine mid week, but on Fridays and Saturdays it's like living in a war zone with screaming, shouting , drunken people wanting to have fights with one another, and police sirens wailing. It may be a good location for a hen/ stag weekend if you want to go to the night club next door , but if you want a peaceful city break, I suggest you go else where. Also was charged an extra. £50 by booking.com as I booked through them, rather than direct with Harrogate apartments. Very disappointed.
Amazing !
Lovely accomodation in a big farm house with horses. Quiet and calm accomodation. Special Tx to Amanda, the housekeeper.
Bijou Apartment in Harrogate is very comfortable and in an excellent location.
The Bijou Apartment in Montpelier Street is furnished to a very high standard. The antique furniture and selection of paintings and objets d'art made us envious! Kitchen and bathroom are excellent. The location is central and very convenient, but is also quiet, in a row of interesting shops. We recommend the apartment, and the arrangements through Harrogate Holidays.
stunning property
just spent a great week at tenter turrets at knaresborough.
this was part of our ruby wedding celebrations and our children stayed some of the time with us.
the propety and location is stunning.
the only slight niggle would be that some of the lights did not work.
some glasses and cups were chipped.
i would still go again and booking staff were very helpfull and made it simple.
thanks
steve.
Nice, good location, but tired inside and does not live up to 4* billing
The let we stayed in was in an excellent location for the town centre and parks, and had spacious bedrooms. Unfortunately the downstairs area was quite small, the flooring downstairs was worn and not clean and all the downstairs seating and flooring, especially the lounge rug, was full of of pet hair from previous residents. Far from ideal when holidaying with a crawling baby. The highchair was also dirty on arrival and difficult to use, and before we were able to use the outside courtyard we had to clear a large pile of wet cardboard rubbish not left by us. I would not choose to stay in this accommodation again, but it was a great central location. Also in addition to above- the upstairs smoke alarm was not working on arrival and we had to purchase a replacement battery for this- we had understood that rental properties should have hard wired smoke alarms but this was not the case in this property.

Reasons: matresses are very much worn out, they shouldn be renewed from time to time as they are apartment for hiring, and they are used for many people.
Owners should check the apartments conditions in depth more often.
Matresses should be higher quality, as according to what is said, the apartments are high quality, however matresses in them are no good enough whatsoever.
The facilities in the apartments should be checked more often, as there are things they don't have. For example, this time there was no can opener, there was no hoover, the night table lamps had no light.
Also, we would also reccommend fewer cushions everywhere, they are very inconvinient and there is no any space to keep them.
There are no any space to keep the suitcases while you are here.
The rest of the stuff is ok. Location is really good, happy with the rest of everything.
Flawless process
It was just so easy to deal with this company. The flat was modern and spotless. We had a great time. The only complaint I would have is from the kids who said that the roll-out bed was uncomfortable. So, if you're planning on using the second bedroom, keep that in mind. The main bedroom was just fine. I have never experienced a comfortable roll-out bed anyway.
good service - efficient and pleasant
I was struggling to find last-minute accommodation in the Harrogate area and was very pleased with the helpful and proactive support I received from HH. The booking and key acquisition was efficient and the accommodation of a good standard and well eqipped. A problem with the oven was quickly rectified by the owner's local contact. However, I was surprised that the sash windows which were at floor level in the lounge in this second floor loft apartment only opened at the bottom - a real health & safety hazard for any child or pet.
Best cottage we have ever stayed in.
The service from Harrogate Holidays was first class giving all the detail we needed to make an informed decision about the property to choose. We stayed in the Old Cottage in Knaresborough and it was just the best. Close to the town centre, a few yards away but no traffic noise, extremely well appointed and lovely, comfortable property. The owners were welcoming and helpful. We will stay again and would recommend both the company and the property.
We really enjoyed our holiday in Harrogate, the house was comfortable and convenient
The house we rented in Harrogate was very comfortable, well equipped and reasonably priced. We could walk into the centre of Harrogate very easily. There were good shops nearby and the area was pleasant. I would recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Harrogate for a few days.
Nice conveniently placed appartment
The apartment was decorated to a high standard, with attractive fittings in the kitchen and bathroom. A few things would have made me give 5 stars had they been included in the apartment. A microwave and a small freezer compartment in the fridge. These are every day items not luxuries, but were not included in the kitchen. A shower in the bathroom would be a very good addition as this is also a standard in most homes. I am 5ft 10 and found that my feet would not touch the floor when sitting on the toilet. Sorry to be so honest but if a shorter person had been staying I don't know how they would have liked that. There were a couple of things I noticed that should have been checked before my arrival but I did report these to the contact. Despite my comments I enjoyed my stay. The apartment is situated on a lovely quiet road very close to all shops, parks, public transport and restaurants. I would definitely stay again.
