Such a joy to find somewhere that still offers proper good customer service. Having bought online before now had chance to visit in person. Was not disappointed, with staff member Rachel Rawson giving... See more

Excellent experience, easy to order and a very competitive price.
All good
Item as described, good price and postage. Quick delivery, all good
Excellent company!!
Gave me a quote online, arranged collection of my kit, inspected my kit on delivery and paid me in full, as quoted, the next day. And thier price was the best I could find. All in all an excellent transaction and a delight to do business with Harrison Cameras. Would definitely use them again.
Excellent …
Very quick delivery and customer service amazing, what a find and would definitely order again
Bright, helpful and knowledgeable Store Personnel
Really helpful lady who, when I explained I needed a longer than usual flash bracket to allow my Godox V860111 to be triggered by my iT30 pro, was on to a solution immediately and a used 32-36 Metz bracket is in the post to me at a very reasonable price.
Excellent service from Ewan
Excellent service from Ewan when I called in last week to leave a Sony camera for cleaning. I received an e mail saturday afternoon to say it was ready for collection along with a comment about my lens which was on the camera. Called again today part exchanged the lens for a new one (old one has been all over the world and had some hammer) EXCELLENT service from Ewan again. Also great to see a shop full of customers supporting an independant business THANK YOU
Outstanding Service - delighted with purchase
Bought a second hand lens (15mm Summilux Leica mft) from Harrison Cameras and am absolutely delighted with all aspects of the purchase. Spoke with a rep before purchasing (to make sure still in stock / check condition etc) and was invoiced by email and paid for the lens. It was delivered next day (earlier than expected!!) in bombproof packaging and the condition of the lens was spot on, if not better than I had expected. Outstanding service, fabulous lens - thank you so much.
Bad experience selling stuff back to them!
Well I always thought that Harrisons cameras were a decent company...until I sold them some camera gear!
Took a Lumix GX80 and a three Lumix lenses in that were mint (camera still had box) the guy that served me took ages checking the stuff over and decided that he couldn't give me the price I wanted on the lenses as they had fungus inside them (more of this later) but the weirdest thing ive ever heard was about the camera body, he showed me a tiny red painted spot in a tiny recess inside the built in flash, something that I had ever noticed before (i dont think anyone else would have either) so told me he couldn't give me the mint condition offer as he didnt know what the spot was??? (You work that one out for yourself)
Now going back to the lenses, as I mentioned above. I took the other lenses and my Leica Noctovid binoculars that I kept with the others to a pro friend of mine and asked him to double check the glass for me and assured me that there is no mould or fungus whatsoever on the internal surfaces of the glass!
Yes, I did walk away with the money they offered me but I needed the cash urgently and to be honest I couldn't be bothered to carry the gear all the way home again but I definitely wont be using Harrisons again and I was intending spending quite a bit of money with them in the near future...a new Leica scope when I get my finances in order.
Ill stick with the other mail order companies in the future.
Sorry Harrison but I actually thought you were a genuine, honest dealer but you have just lost a valued customer...yes, even my Leica Noctovid binoculars were bought from you AND two of the lenses I sold back to you.

Professional shop
This camera shop is staffed by enthusiastic experts with a good range of second hand equipment. However, I took my Lumix camera to them for a repair estimate which came back at over £400 - about the price of a second hand one on eBay. I declined and then managed to get it repaired for £115 using a service advertised on eBay. So if repair estimates seem high, you might want to get a second opinion!!
Very Busy And Very Understaffed.
I visited the shop on Monday 16th and again on Tuesday 17th, and unfortunately both experiences were extremely disappointing.
On Monday, the store was clearly understaffed for how busy it was. There were only three members of staff behind the counter. While they appeared to be doing their best, the queue continued to grow with no sign of improvement. After waiting a considerable amount of time and repeatedly being told, “We’ll be with you as soon as possible,” I eventually had to leave without being served. What was particularly frustrating was seeing other staff members come downstairs, walk past a shop full of waiting customers without acknowledging anyone, and then return upstairs. It felt very dismissive.
I returned on Tuesday hoping for a better experience, but it was much the same. Again, only three staff members were serving and the queue was long. This time I decided to wait. Unfortunately, the service I received was not worth it. The older gentleman who served me (tall, glasses, beard) was rude, blunt, and dismissive throughout the interaction. When I even asked if I should wait for another member of staff as he seemed busy or uninterested, he responded with sighs and sharp, abrupt answers to my questions.
Overall, it was a very uncomfortable and frustrating experience. The lack of staffing and unwelcoming attitude from said staff member made what should have been a simple visit unnecessarily unpleasant. I left without making a purchase.

Second hand camera purchased
Having purchased a second hand camera in October 2025 and only just having had the film developed, I can now leave a review as I can confirm the camera works!
Excellent service from Harrison Cameras.
My only negative would be the courier who left the box outside in the rain. Thankfully I noticed it had been delivered quite quickly so retrieved it, and the camera itself had been generously wrapped in bubble wrap.
I'd look to Harrison Cameras again if I wanted to buy a camera.
Mixed feelings regarding Harrison Cameras.
I have mixed feelings about Harrison Cameras. I first shopped with them in the late 70's , buying a new Pentax K1000 film camera with standard lens. I was 20 years old and knew little about the ins and outs of photography. Some forty odd years later and many thousands of pounds lighter in the pocket, I think I know a little more than I did then. My enthusiasm is still there and I still get a buzz from walking through the Harrison doors to possibly purchase a mouthwatering addition (usually preowned ) camera or lens.
I think back to the busy Saturday afternoons when Ron, his two sons, and the rest of the team spoke with friendliness, enthusiasm and more importantly knowledge about the stock.
During the last couple of years I have, after a purchase, left feeling somewhat disgruntled even though tempered by the fact that I have come away with the item I wanted. I mainly refer to items taken in for part exchange. Regarding any lenses that have been submitted, there has always in the recent past a "slight fungus " reference which always drastically reduces the value of a trade in, even down to a £10 recycling value, lenses that had been checked by myself before the attempted trade-in. The most obvious recent example of this was a telephoto zoom lens which was a temporary fill-in for an impromptu visit to Liverpool which was purchased from a very well established online company a few weeks previous to the trip. A while after this 'trip', I wanted another focal tele lens and took it in to Harrisons as a part-ex. I was told that there was signs of fungus present which I did not believe as I had checked the lens at length with a torch and magnifying glass before taking it in and found no such evidence but the staff member was insistent. I purchased the lens I wanted, took the previous lens home and returned it from where I purchased it from. They professionally checked it out and rated it "excellent " and paid me a top price for it after I originally purchasing it just ten weeks prior to reselling it to them. There has been other encounters in recent times at the store that have left me less than totally happy and I feel that after all these years I should divert my time, purchases, and more importantly, hard earned cash to an online dealer who gives me the service I am totally happy with.
I am pleased that after all this time that the Harrison business is still a part of Sheffield but I do wonder whether I will be a customer in the future.
Top Team to Deal With
Never had a bad experience with these guys, always very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable, some nice gear there too.
Prompt polite service
All round service was all it should be
Excellent and on time
Seems a decent firm to deal with.
Ordering was easy, website was helpful and not loaded with garish unwanted links, and the prices were reasonable Not the cheapest, but good and going by previous experience with Harrison I am more confident using this company. Previous order arrived promptly and was exactly as it should be. I look forward to the same with this order. Plus, it's nice to support the smaller firms rather than the giant organisations (hopefully they treat their staff better, too!)
Update 11/02/2026 - As expected, the items arrived in good time, and were well packed. The main item (a Sigma 16-300mm lens) has been working superbly too! Great firm to deal with.
Fast service and good experience
Sold some lenses to Harrison Cameras, who graded them fairly and paid what they said they would pay. Collected, processed and paid very efficiently.
Excellent service
Excellent service, good prices, simple to order. Quick delivery as usual
An excellent and speedy service as…
An excellent and speedy service as usual, thank you!
Harrison Cameras were excellent, but
Harrison Cameras were excellent. It's only 4 stars because they use a very poor shipping company, DPD, who delivered the parcel to the wrong address, and provided no way of telling them this.
