I have spent a small fortune at the local Harbor Freight store and joined Inside Track to be made aware of deals and discounts. I received notice of a deal today, so I went to the store to purchase... See more

people are petty and dont know how to use tools correctly. That said I myself running dozens of companies through the years have gone to harbor freight for a majority of our tool needs without any issue. So anybody complaining sounds like a karen.
$30 a year for a $15 ammo box
I went to their website and saw a coupon for a ammo box. I printed it and went to the store in Macon Ga. When I went to pay for the ammo box, the cashier showed me that the coupon was ONLY for members (at $29.99 per year). As a senior, I don't need more tools. I will not shop at Harbor Freight again.
Told bad information!
Went to Safford Az. store last week to purchase U.S. GENERAL 30 in. x 16 in. Three Shelf Steel Service Cart, Red, for $49.99 they where out. I was informed they would get them in on march 27. Stopped by today 3/21/25 they said had some come in yesterday and are out. they informed me wouldn't get them until April 6th Not on sale. No rain checks, Find some other store to shop at other than HARBOR FRIEGHT TOOLS.
Employees, Items, Warranty
Starting with the employees, each one has been polite and very helpful every time I have been there. The items sold are of good quality and does not break the bank. I can purchase an item saving money and when it no longer works purchase another, but now don't forget the warranty that you can purchase.
Beware when renewing your Inside Track…
Beware when renewing your Inside Track Club membership early because you will loose days you've paid for.
*
Say your current expiration date is March 30th so your renew on March 5th .. you will lose twenty five days .. almost a full month.
*
They overlay instead of tacking on the end of the current membership. So they set the new expiration date of March 5th next year .. instead of March 30th.
*
The only way around this is NOT renew early .. let your current membership expire .. THEN .. buy another year.
Good prices
Good prices . tools might be low quality but they do the jobs
I got charged $8.60 restocking fee for returning a defective McGraw air compressor.
I returned a McGraw 3-gallon air compressor today because the regulator knob would not turn so you could open and close it. The clerk at the store (David) could not get it to turn either, as you are supposed to open the drain valve and regulator before plugging it in and starting the compressor. My complaint is that they charged me an $8.60 restocking fee which is absolutely ridiculous since it was that way when I opened it. I guess Harbor Freight needs that $8.60 restocking fee more than they need or want my continued business because I will never do business with them again, as a matter of fact I just might sue them in small claims court over their shady/immoral business ethics and cheap/China made defective CRAP!
Excellent place, Kendall
Excellent place, excellent employees. Today ask for help to Osvaldo, and he was very helpful, even on Sunday with nice face, very good goodwill. Deserve 5 stars.

Related to fraud
Related to fraud. I use a special email address when dealing with online businesses. It allows me to identify the business when that address is used in the future. I can do this because I have my own domain, if you're curious. I have recently had fraud on one of my cards and got a phone call spoofed from the card company and quoting the Harbor Freight address as having been used in a transaction I never made at some other vendor. Obviously, the fraud originated with Harbor Freight or someone who had access to their data. Be careful.
I have a 125 amp Chicago Electric flux…
I have a 125 amp Chicago Electric flux welder (#63583) that needs a new top cover and handle. Very helpful staff at the store did not have in-stock and referred me to their Customer Service Department at 1-800-444-3353. The rep was very professional but explained to me that they do not have any parts available and apparently have no parts supplier. Her only suggestion was to go on EBay or Amazon. She suggested I take the Customer Survey which was 1 question; "Would you want to be helped by this rep if you called again?" This is my first experience with Harbor Freight Tools and, frankly, the last.
Their HFT brand 55 gallon trash bags…
Their HFT brand 55 gallon trash bags are basically 35 gallon. Nowhere near 55. Back to Home Depot I go. A waste of money. When you review on their site, they ask for an order number or a date of purchase to verify. Well, I just opened the box of trash bags about two weeks after I bought them so no I don’t have the receipt. I don’t have the order number.
I bought a compressor about 4 months…
I bought a compressor about 4 months ago. I used it twice and it died.I do buy tools and assorted hand tools from them because it's cheaper not cheap. The local store knows me and when I went to them to see what resource I may have I was told you own it and we can't do anything about it. They now are not my primary tool shop and most probably buy anything there again Nice job idiots
If I could give a zero I would
If I could give a zero I would. A friend of mine is missing his leg and wanted to buy something. Was told on the phone they would help and he gets there and they denied to help him. They lost a ton of business from me, him and plenty others.
Harbor Freight Uncaring about its customers!
Went to the Carrollton store this morning to get a couple of tarps for my chicken pens. The sign said open from 8am to 8pm. They were closed the day before due to snow, however it was fine the next day and I got there early so I could get the tarps and save my chickens from wind and rain. He refused to let me in at 8am with cash and told me me best he could do was 9am. Very unprofessional! I explained the importance of the tarps and he uncaringly closed the door and said 9 was the best he could do. Three people were already in the store. As a local farmer I now know we in Carrollton can’t count on Harbor Freight to do the right thing. Not a good look for a store here!
The definition of BAIT & SWITCH
The definition of BAIT & SWITCH; Try this for yourself...pick a sale item with a big discount like a mechanic's tool chest or anything remotely interesting with a sizeable reduction. It's going to be sold out. One person will tell you to sign up for presale, the other will tell you there is no presale because they can't take returns. A third person will tell you to come at 8am when they get their next delivery. That fourth guy will tell you the 3rd guy was wrong come after 12:30 when the truck is unloaded. You show up and the fourth guy says there was nothing on the truck...next time call....BUT WAIT! Order online they say. It was not an option you will tell them but whatever. You will try to order online but the shipping cost is more than the discount! An absolute scam and waste of time. Seriously, try for yourself. Major disappointment.
I have unsubscribed 50 times to this…
I have unsubscribed 50 times to this joke of a company and yet they continue to bombard me with emails!
We needed an inexpensive dolly to move…
We needed an inexpensive dolly to move a large plant. We asked Kate where we might locate that item. She immediately told us the location.
We went back to her to check out & she was equally good at her job there. She helped us use a Harbor Freight gift card with a few dollars left and also used a coupon on a couple of flags that were on sale. We will look for her the next time we are there- she was awesome!!
it seems like their bad review is…
it seems like their bad review is unwarranted. I find their tools a good value, that however lower quality they are, that's reflected in the price. I've had many of their items last me years.
Defective product, no refund
I bought some metal loading ramps at Harbor Freight. All of the edges on the ramps were razor sharp, probably because the ramps were stamped and no effort was made to dull the sharp edges. Not surprisingly, I cut my hands while attempting to use the ramps. So, I boxed them up and put them in my garage.
Because the ramps were defective (sharp edges) and unusable, I tried to return them to Harbor Freight. The manager told me that it had been more than 90 days since I bought them and Harbor Freight would not give me an exchange, refund or store credit.
Harbor Freight sells highly defective products. I will never buy anything from them again and encourage others to do the same.
