I'm afraid the electrician was running an hour and 45 minutes late for the appointment, at which point I advised the HQ not to bother any longer. I'd chased him up once and didn't feel like waiting/chasing any longer. A disappointing experience all round. He had been held up on an emergency, apparently, but had I known this I could at least have gone and done my own errands.

Handyman Station has been a excellent local Handyman Company which I have been using for a variety of work. They have been extremly profesional and do what they say. Highly recommended!

I booked an electrician from Handyman Station to install a dimmer switch, but the job couldn’t be completed due to complex wiring. Even though the electrician couldn’t complete the task, I was still charged for the hour, and the electrician didn’t recommend that I contact a specialized wiring company beforehand. It would have saved me both time and money if they had informed me upfront that they couldn't handle the wiring. Disappointing experience overall, as I expected a bit more transparency and guidance.

There are several details I need to clarify regarding the service experience:

Punctuality: The electrician was over an hour late to the appointment, which I believe should be taken into account as it affected my schedule.

Complex Wiring Issue: Upon arrival, the electrician immediately pointed out that the wiring was complex and consulted the internet for wire color codes. I expected a higher level of expertise for what I assumed would be a straightforward installation. I could have researched wiring colors myself without needing a professional.

Time Management: I didn’t request the electrician to stay for over an hour. Had he informed me upfront that he couldn’t complete the job due to the wiring, I would have preferred he didn’t spend additional time that added no value.

Used Handyman Station to replace the front portico. It was not cheap but they could do it within the timeframe we wanted and it was a local business. The cost of the replacement and the painting were separate.

The replacement was fine. The painter did not have attention to detail. He damaged the painted render above the door when he removed the masking tape. He acknowledged the damage and sought to match the paint. He returned when we weren't home, but the touch up was worse than the original damage (have him on the ring camera saying as such).

That was three months ago. Despite numerous emails and whatsapp, they have ceased all communication and have not offered compensation for the damage.

Stressful experience. Manager Jeremy very unprofessional and hugely argumentative when an issue arose with work carried out by the young plumber. Avoided taking any responsibility, received very unpleasant customer service. Will never use again.
