I ordered a 1964 paperback copy of Moonraker from Halcyon books via Abebooks. The description was "very good"
"Pages clean and bright, binding firm, minor shelf wear to cover."
The binding was poor and pages literally falling out. The pages were proud of the cover. It had a rolled spine. I only give two stars rather than one because I guess I did actually get the book at least. Unfortunately I will avoid Halcyon books in future.

Scam bookstore, avoid!

Very disappointed. A total waste of my time. I would avoid! This London based bookstore lied to me and didn't dispatch the second-hand book I bought online from them (via their Amazon storefront). They took my money and I then never heard from them for nearly 3 weeks. I was then shocked to see that they had relisted the same book back to Amazon at a more expensive price. They had the audacity to send me a "dispatched" email while the book was still listed on their Abebooks.co.uk store listings and was re-added to Amazon. It is obvious they were hoping I would forget about my order so they could pocket the money for a book they never bothered sending. That's essentially the same as running an online scam. Shame on them. If it was an honest mistake, they would have contacted me to tell me what went wrong. Instead, complete radio silence. This is clearly some of the worst unethical and potentially illegal retail practices I have seen online so far from an actual "legit" brick and mortar store.
