Not a great experience
I was shown a top quality classical guitar at the owners home showroom in Melbourne. We agreed a price and I paid a deposit. However I later discovered that the guitar, despite being excellent quality, was a standard model from a well known Spanish Atelier. The same guitar model direct from the luthiers premises, and from a European guitar supplier was many thousands of dollars less than from Guitarsonline ( even taking into consideration import taxes ). When I raised this as an issue, and I flagged that I was still keen and open to negotiate, I was met with angry negative comments and accusations. A real “spit the dummy” instead of the professional reaction I would have expected from a supplier professing to offer a quality service. I would just say to prospective buyers, check the price of the instrument from other sources before you go ahead. Certainly a premium is warranted as he has sourced great instruments and brought them into the country, but not the over inflated price I was tagged with.
