Please do not buy

Do not buy a car from them. All there cars. Are meant to have a 3 month warranty. And from day one of buying my car. They haven't bothered to sort out fixing my car. I spent half of my redundancy on it. I was out of work for 5 months. And I shouldn't have to fix it myself when it was still under warranty. If you are thinking about buying a car from them please check out Thetford forum about them. And I believe that they might be going by the name downham car sales or something like that

If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would
I purchased a car from these untrustworthy car dealers back in April 2023.
The car was independently inspected by my local garage when I got it home. They found faults with the car that should never have passed an MOT they were not even down as advisories (the garage that carried out the MOT have been reported to DVSA) plus there was a coolant leak which the low coolant was mentioned before I purchased it and was told that it had just had a service and it was probably an air bubble in the system that had dispersed. I rejected the vehicle on the 30th day and asked for a full refund. I was contacted my Matt and I agreed to give them a chance to put the faults right. They travelled the 175 miles to me to pick the car up and take it away for repairs. They had the car for 3 weeks, during this time there was no communication from them unless I did the chasing.
The car was returned to me in an appalling state of which I have photographic evidence. I realised the following day that the coolant leak had not been attended to and the car had little to no coolant in it, bearing in mind the car had done 350 miles since it left me 3 weeks prior so I didn't know how far it had been driven void of coolant, on this basis I rejected the car for the final time and it was parked on my drive and sorn.
Glen Kerrison one of the Directors of GTJ Cars would not refund the £6100.00 that I paid for the car. In the following 12 months GTJ Cars ignored all communications from my solicitor and during this time there was an inspection done on the car by a Court appointed Motor Vehicle Inspector who found that the engine had seized. I took my case to the County Court and Glen Kerrison tried to say that I had carried on driving the vehicle with no coolant which I can prove was not the case as I took a photo time and date stamped when the car was returned to me and the mileage was exactly the same as what the inspector put in his report GTJ Cars didn't even show up for the Court hearing via video link. After looking at all the evidence the judge ruled in my favour and gave GTJ Cars 14 days to refund which they didn't. After this I then took my claim to the High Court Enforcement where a writ was issued for the outstanding debt. The bailiffs visited on a couple of occasions and made contact with the other director Tristram Parry who said he would not be held liable for the debt.
There are no vehicles on site registered to GTJ Cars so they were unable to take control of goods. I have recently done search for other CCJ's against this company and found they owe a number of people a lot of money.
Please I urge anybody who is looking to buy a car from them at their lot at 16 St Johns Way Downham Market don't do it, you only have to look at all the bad reviews this company have to see they are not what they seem. They have been reported to Trading Standards

Aviod for your own safety recently brought a car from them

I recently brought a car from them, on purchase he told me it hadn't been checked over, so agreed I would be getting my mechanic to check it over and any problem would be in touch to get it rectified, which I did 2 days later, it needed new brakes and tyres on the front, I got the brakes done, but they wouldn't do the tyres, I fought this got second and 3rd opinions and the tyres were illegal, he then told me I could buy the tyres and they would fit them for free, baring in mind I live 45 minutes away, which I declined, as my car wasn't safe to drive, I have asked to be reimbursed as I've sent photos of the tyres, kept the tyres for evidence, and it was withing the first 7 days, they refused and ignored me, plus I had a dodgy indicator which they didn't fix just changed the bulb, the mechanics were meant to check tyres it's obvious they didn't as I would of had them changed, if I could put pictures up to show I would, bad bad company, do not go there for your own safety

GTJ THETFORD

We bought a car(VAUXHALL CORSA) from them on ready cash£4850, but they shouldn't shown any value for the price or respect, just like took the car from the garage and brought to us rather we paid extra for three months warranty also but all our money went into the ashes, the car is not in a good condition we Fed up of calling them no response in case if they respond never kept their word or turned back to us, now we have to go to the proper service agency and get done from our pocket- useless people!! Not worthy.

What a 5 star experience I had with GTJ…

What a 5 star experience I had with GTJ cars.
I have an unusual car Nissan Figaro and it has been at another garage in Cambridge all summer trying to detect an issue I was having with it.
I spoke to Derice at GTJ and he was so helpful , listened to what I had previously done and he took advice from the Figaro owners club.
They used a specialist mechanic who identified the ongoing issue and rectified it.
I am really happy with the service cost, the customer attention to detail and my Car is now running beautifully.

AVOID

THETFORD BRANCH but same company.
This review has been reported by GTJ cars, but all the facts are correct they just don’t want the truth out there. This is for the THETFORD BRANCH but same company and i have dealt with Glen both at Thetford and Little Downham over the phone so yes the businesses run the same.
Bought in April 2024. They had to pick it up the next day I bought it home as it was broken. Received it back, fine. 8 weeks later the engine light came on. It was in limp mode. After back and fourth with GTJ I had to pay for a diagnostic. I was informed the car was not fit for purpose by another mechanic and should not have passed its MOT. This vehicle had a number of things wrong with it and was not fit to be sold. When I suggested the mechanic I found fixed it, they picked the car up miraculously as originally that’s why I had to pay for a diagnostic as they wouldn’t collect the car and wanted me to drive 20mph to them for 55 miles on a dual carriage way… telling me it was safe to drive??? Even though they had no idea what was wrong with it? And they told me under no circumstances can they collect the car. They have collected the car and now have had it for 13 weeks. I have spoken to them only a handful of times over the phone and usually ignored via email. 2 weeks after they had my car and were apparently fixing it they emailed me asking me to take the car in? This blew my mind as they had had my car for TWO weeks already, indicating they were never looking at it. They’re informing me it’s the DPF even though I gave them an engine code and there was NO warning light for the DPF, again I provided them with an engine code which magically disappeared when they ‘looked’ at my vehicle, they’re fobbing me off and completely disregarding everything else I informed them was wrong with the car (quite a long list may I add) It is worth getting a second MOT and health check for your vehicle and your results will speak volume. I have gone to trading standards and have now sent them 3 letters one of which was for them to fix the issues, I want a refund and have now gone down the court route, ( they ignored every single letter). I have given Glen plenty of time to fix the vehicle but he hasn’t despite the fact he has had the vehicle for 13 weeks, which is longer than i ever had it in my own possession (only 8 weeks). I have every faith this will make it to court. I have been without a vehicle for 14 weeks and only received one apology when my google review was recognised and I thought it was genuine until I asked for a refund and the tune completely changed, as I put a thousand miles on the clock I wasn’t entitled to a full refund, despite the fact he made a profit from the car I traded in and how badly treated I have been treated, how the car was sold faulty to me, and being left without a car for 14 whole weeks. I was also accused of ‘shouting’ on the phone which is absolutely not true and I truly believe Glen said this so he could write back on a review about how ‘ill treated’ he was via the phone, I have seen him do this to many negative reviews. These 5 star reviews are questionable. Do not entertain this company because it will affect your life, your mental health and they truly don’t care about you. If they did, I wouldn’t be writing this review. My home life has been in shambles without a car and I have a young child, my work life has also been deeply affected by this. Whatever you do, avoid this business. It isn’t worth it. Please also check you’re covered under warranty because I rung the warranty company twice and they had no details of the vehicle being registered with them. If this is responded to, rest assured it will not be true.

Do not pay a penny before you see the car

No problem we can go through the finance company" is a response to a genuine complaint like a missing rear view mirror. It is so bad now it's unbelievable.
I purchased the vehicle on 17.05.2024, with the agreement that it would be delivered by the 27th of April. However, the car was delivered two weeks late, causing significant inconvenience.

In addition to the late delivery, I was assured that the car would come with a 12-month MOT. Upon receiving the vehicle, I discovered that the MOT is set to expire on the 31st of August, which is considerably less than the promised duration.
This misrepresentation is unacceptable and has caused further frustration.

Moreover, I was alarmed to find that the car is missing a rear-view mirror, which is a legal requirement for safe driving. This oversight not only poses a safety risk but also makes the vehicle non-compliant with road safety regulations. The engine check light is on, indicating a fault with the crankshaft sensor position.

Furthermore, after researching, I have found that other customers have reported similar negative experiences with your dealership. This pattern of issues is concerning and undermines my trust in your dealership. My decision to purchase from your dealership was significantly influenced by the recommendation of a known car broker whom I trusted to guide me to a reputable dealer.

I brought these issues to your attention in good faith, expecting them to be addressed promptly and professionally. However, I am deeply disappointed by the dismissive and accusatory response from dealership owner (deleted by the administrator). Instead of acknowledging the legitimate concerns raised about the vehicle, (deleted by the administrator)has falsely accused me of making threats and has completely ignored the substantive issues with the car by the 27th of April

Honestly, I never usually write reviews, but I have made an exception!!

Honestly, I never usually write reviews, but I had to make an exception, as I have just had a great experience buying my new car from Glen at GTJ cars.
He could not have been more helpful and understanding, because hey! its not easy finding a trustworthy car dealership and boy, do I know this only to well!!! These guys genuinely care, they are very knowledgeable (having spent a lot of years working in main dealership's) and they are trying really hard to do things the right way and change peoples perceptions, of the car dealership industry and for that I praise and thank them. If you are looking for your next car, then you should definitely go and visit GTJ cars, they have some amazing cars in stock and they are priced in line with the current market value. The cars are so clean and checked before leaving and I got a 3 months warranty, for extra peace of mind.
Like I said before, writing reviews is not normally for me, but when someone goes above and beyond, that (in my opinion), is worth the time and effort.
Thanks so much Glen.... I love my new car!!!

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING FROM THIS…

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER BUYING FROM THIS CIRCUS OF A DEALERSHIP!!!

We had issues from day 1 with a car purchased from them. 3 lots of repair work done, the final time with them having our car for three months, for it to return still not road worthy!

Tried to communicate with them to request a refund as all problems within first 3 months of purchase, reaching the 6 month mark by the time we finally got the car back. Constant dragging of their heels, no response, was told we would hear from their legal team, months have passed and we have heard nothing. They clearly believe the consumer rights act doesn’t apply to them. Have used all correct routes offering for it to be resolved between us, using a alternative dispute resolution scheme and a final email to them stating the next step would be court proceedings and we haven’t received any further correspondence from them.

It seems they have updated their information online to try and hide the awful reviews from the many other unhappy customers but I have pages and pages of screenshots showing that they sell nothing but faulty cars and their customer service is atrocious!

Buying a car from them was hands down the worst decision we have ever made, save yourself the hassle and avoid!!!
