Total crapshoot. It's like Forrest Gump. You never know what you're going to get. I've used them for semaglutide, got ripped off. Used for massage, those were 50/50 on service. I think sometimes the... See more

Avoid: No Delivery and Impossible to Contact Support

I ordered a mattress for approximately €200 in March 2026 on groupon.be. As of today, May 4th—more than a month later—I have still not received anything.

Attempting to contact customer service has been extremely frustrating. Groupon offers no phone support, making it impossible to speak with a representative directly. I have used the chat system multiple times, and each time I was promised a response within 24 hours (Casus ID 80089668). Unsurprisingly, no follow-up was ever provided.

On top of that, I was told that nothing can be done because Groupon is “not the seller” and that they will contact the seller... From a consumer’s perspective, this is unacceptable. I placed my order through Groupon.be, which makes Groupon responsible for the transaction in my eyes.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience, marked by poor communication, lack of accountability, and failure to deliver the purchased product.

Sold me a non-working/non-genuine voucher

Sold me a non-working/non-genuine voucher

Would give zero stars if I could..

I was sent an email advertising Groupon's new look site.

24-Apr I visited, saw something I liked and bought it. I tried to redeem it online that same evening and it didn't work.

I went to customer services (an AI chat bot) and the only remedy was a refund -which was initiated.

Same night, I bought another voucher to see if I was just given a wrong one initially. I tried redeeming.. same thing - voucher didn't work/was not recognised/”did not exist” - according to the vendor's website.

Back on with AI chat bot (no real people in sight) and, same thing happened but I said I'd wait until another day and retry - chat bot said “good idea”(I seem to recall). I thought maybe they needed time to fix it / activate codes etc.

Tried over the next few days.. same issue.

Contacted the vendor direct to see if it was their website that was the problem. They said that code was “not one we supplied to Groupon”.

So, it seems Groupon sold me a random number/non-genuine voucher.

Back on with customer services and managed to get through to a real person after much challenge.

First person couldn't help (issue a working code). The Groupon App does work so I couldn't attach screenshots. Was told the ticket wouldn't be investigated without those screenshots. Asked if I could email, asked for the email address.. they said that was fine and pointed me towards FAQs.
Spent an age looking through the site - no email address was listed.

Raised another query with customer services… they told me there is no email address. Big fat waste of time. But, was told it would be investigated.

In comes customer services level 3… ‘Darren’. No mention of my query, no mention of the problem, no attempt to resolve in a way that would take them any effort but was told “As per Groupon policy, we can only issue refunds in Groupon bucks”...
On this occasion though, they give me 3 days to claim a refund.

So they sell you a fake code, and if you can't catch them quick enough after paying them you have to live with ‘Groupon bucks’. What if you'd have gifted it to someone?

Anyway, wrote back to Darren and heard nothing since. Now a race against time to either hear back if they want to fix their error (giving me some made up random voucher) or I claim a refund.

Not worth it. Customer services is either useless, cannot help or aren't inclined to help.

Not sure how you can get away with selling non-genuine/codes which don't work and do not exist and yet quote me Groupon terms and conditions. If enough people get baited and trapped by this they'll have all your real money while issuing you Groupon bucks. Seems off to me.

Inaccurate Groupons, Dishonest

I bought a groupon that advertised receiving a $45 Digital Costco Shop card if you activate a Costco Executive Membership. Here's a direct copy-paste of the instructions:

How to Use This Deal
1. You will receive an email with a confirmation of your purchase from Groupon with the subject line: "Purchase Confirmed: Thank you for your purchase!” Please allow up to two hours to receive your confirmation email.
2. Incentives will automatically be delivered to qualifying customers via email within two weeks of successful membership activation.
3. Incentives will be sent to the email address provided by the Primary member at time of sign up.
4. To receive your physical membership card, visit the membership counter at your local Costco and present your Groupon confirmation and a valid photo ID. A physical membership card is not required to shop online or receive your incentive.
5. Enjoy being a Costco member!

What it fails to tell you, which a Costco customer service rep told me over the phone, is that in order to receive the $45, you MUST activate automatic membership renewal. I tried to reach Groupon about this, but I could only get to their AI chatbot and the chatbot kept arguing back insisting that there are no additional steps and that it's automatic. I tried to write a review for the groupon, but clicking any of the star (1 thru 5) ratings gives a pop-up "something went wrong." Couldn't warn any future customers, and groupon doesn't care.

Buyer beware.

Groupon is the absolute WORST company…

Groupon is the absolute WORST company to deal with, their customer service is nonexistent! I noticed all the good reviews on here are from people rating the place they used their Groupon at, not the actual company. The actual company is HORRIBLE, do not waste your money with them. If there is a problem or you need a return or refund, I can assure you that you will not find satisfactory resolution. I bought a necklace, it arrived broken, and they give me the run around on "chat" each time saying "it's been escalated and you'll receive an email" yet I have never received said email. 5 chats over 3 weeks with no resolution. Now I remember why I stopped using Groupon years ago. I forgot how bad they are. No customer service whatsoever. Feels like a scam dealing with them. SCAM.

I purchased a 90-minute couple massage and they canceled my order. I paid through Klarna and they would not give me a refund. I have reached out several times and spent hours in a chat, but I've made no progress. Terrible customer service.

Great discount company!

Great discount company! i have been using their services and discounts since they started. My favorite coupon is $22 for 2 tickets to our local movie house. A lot less expense than the regular $18/ ticket. Thank you REEL Cinema for using Groupon.

Bad products

Bad products, incomplete services and No Refunds 🚫 It's a shame because I used to love Groupon but it's become a complete scam. They don't inform you of all the details. For example: I purchased a massage only to find out on arrival that it's female clients only. When you try to get a refund they give you Groupon Credits that expire in 12 months. I've been robbed several times because there's nothing worth buying on Groupon. If you do find a good deal like a massage or restaurant it's usually a 'one per customer offer' so if you rebook the client cancels and you end up with more grouping credits 🙄. Then you have to deal with Groupons AI customer service or the scripted human customer service who both say the same thing. No refunds 🚫 I'm tired of this, it's costing me money and I'm not getting anything so I might as well delete the app... Once I find something to spend my credits on 🙄 They only do credits because there's a lot of unhappy customers that want refunds.

Avoid, absolute false advertising

Stated that you could cancel, and then when we went to cancel denied we could due to the terms. When I showed a screen shot that stated cancellation up to date of booking, they provided a credit which I exp credit on our credit card but provided as a credit on their site.
Absolute scammers!
