2 star service at 5 star price, and NO accountability

I paid over **$15,000** for what I expected would be a professional moving experience. Instead, this was the worst move I've had in more than 16 years of hiring professional movers.

The Issues:
Despite being told during both the estimate and the walkthrough on moving day, the crew packed and transported items that belonged to the home staging company. That immediately raised concerns about their attention to detail.

The packing was careless and inconsistent. Fragile items were often packed with only paper instead of bubble wrap, many boxes containing fragile items weren't labeled, heavy stone items were packed with delicate glass, and I even found boxes marked "Fragile" stored upside down. My dining chairs (worth over **$5,000 each**) were left uncovered in storage, with one stacked upside down on another and resting directly on concrete.

So far I've discovered a shattered suitcase, broken vintage glass, broken storage bins, multiple broken plates and glasses, and I'm also missing several items.

What concerns me just as much is that my final bill was more than **$4,000** higher than the estimate, even though I had donated a substantial amount of my belongings and packed many boxes myself before the move. I was told the increase was due to packing materials, yet many boxes contained only a handful of items. While I can't say this was intentional, it left me questioning whether the excessive use of boxes and packing materials unnecessarily increased the final cost of my move.

Their "Solution"
When I raised these issues, the company's response largely defended its practices instead of taking meaningful responsibility or offering a remedy beyond the standard claims process.

Accidents can happen, but after paying this much, I expected care, professionalism, and accountability. Unfortunately, my experience reflected none of those.

I *HIGHLY* recommend others to read the company's Yelp reviews, where other people have had similar issues with boxes used to hold a small amount of items, stuffed with paper to fill the empty space, as well as broken and missing items. Based on my experience, I intend to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Maryland Attorney General's Office regarding what I believe were deceptive pricing practices.
