Had a full English at Gordon Riggs cafe, was very expensive so was expecting something decent for the money. It was very sparse with no extras like black pudding, the mushrooms were greasy and the tomatoes looked tiny as they were cherry tomatoes and only had 3 on the plate. I had to buy a separate tea. The spoons were stained and looked very tired. The plate came warm which was good. The staff were kind and helpful. Come on Riggs you can do so much better than this.

The garden centre has a nice restaurant with an outside seating area, however, the prices in the restaurant are very high, with an egg sandwich costing £10.99!
I will still use the garden centre, but unfortunately, I'll be going elswhere for lunch.

Gordon Riggs were quick to reply to my complaint, however, their comment asking us to respond by email was ignored. I don’t understand why they asked us to email them when they do not respond.
We visited the garden centre cafe on 1st February 2026 and have to say we were very disappointed with the food we received.
I ordered pie of the day, which was cheese and onion pie with chips and beans.
The pie was of very poor quality. It was just a tasteless purée, half an inch deep with an open space before the crust. I have never eaten cheese and onion pie which tasted like this. The chips supplied were only warm. I paid £14.99 for this pie and have eaten much better quality pies at reputable restaurants in the same area for less than this cost.
Overall experience was much less than previous times we have visited this garden centre.

Really excellent customer service today at the Rochdale store from Anthony. This year I went on my own to pick a Christmas tree as my partner has broken his arm and had been worried about picking up the tree and getting it in the car myself. Anthony was approachable and friendly and could not have been more helpful. He went out of his way to help me to choose a tree, trimmed off the surplus branches at the bottom of the tree and then put the tree into my car. 10/10
Poor products,

They were able to reassure me that I had done the payment correctly. The gift voucher arrived promptly just as they had said
Easy to order and quick delivery but they delivered to the billing address and not the shipping address. Had to be reposted. They did refund the delivery charge when I contacted them.
Ordered online, that was easy.
Email confirmation of my order, no collection instructions. Left it 5 days, no further contact, went to the store to see if my order was in.
Customer services had no idea as it was Saturday - collections people only work Mon-Fri. She called for Tim to help. Tim didn't know the procedure or where my order might be either. A third staff member arrived who also didn't know but commissar a hunch and came back a while later with my order.

We've been looking for a garden trough for a while and finally found one online at Gordon Rigg , Rochdale , it was easy to order and pay for. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe, followed by a stroll round the garden centre, bought some plants of course, all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Said In stock on-line
Had email confirming my order
Lady said it won't be here till next day
She had no empathy for my wasted journey

Up to now, the 25th August, the voucher I ordered has not been received by the recipient. On phoning Gordon Riggs on 22 August, I was told to wait until the weekend. I paid an amount of £1.99 for Courier service so this is very poor service on the part of Gordon Riggs. As time goes on my gift is losing its impact as it was for a special lady who did me a favour and who actually lives in Todmorden where Gordon Riggs are!!

easy to order on line and quick delivery also instructions of where to leave the order were followed.
Received a call to advise my delivery would be split into two parcels which was really helpful. Quick delivery, but pricey but sold out everywhere else! Overall great experience
When my original order was delivered it was not what I asked for.
When I phoned I was told that a new order with the correct order would be sent out and there would be no extra to pay.
I think that was the a good result.
he new order arrived soon after.
Easy transaction for online order. Ready for collection when I arrived at store. Superb bargain too.
Delivered, on time, good condition, nice products. Well priced. Can’t go wrong
