GN Hearing ReSound OMNIA Hearing Aids: do not expect any support, even when critical.
I notified GN Hearing ReSound of the failure of my OMNIA hearing aids on 14.03.2026. Today is the 23.03.2026 - I am still without hearing aids and without functional hearing.
In my case, the top half of the in-ear part of the receiver became detached due to a failure of design and/or manufacturing. It became lodged in my ear and a visit to the hospital was necessary to have it extricated. This was distressing enough, without the prospect of having no hearing as a consequence.
Then, the Customer Services response becomes a critical lifeline. Without hearing aids one's life is on hold, rendering routine activities impossible, difficult, and oftentimes dangerous.
Anyone who suffers from hearing loss will understand the overwhelming impact it has on one's life. Hearing loss is a gradual process and generally occurs over a long period of time. Ultimately, the sufferer realises there is a problem and resolves to do something about it. Up to this point, due to the day-by-day deterioration, the mind and body compensates in manifold ways, all subconscious. It is only upon testing and the first use of hearing aids that one realises how bad things had got. Modern hearing aids are a revelation and over a period of time one becomes critically dependent on them to function normally, professionally and socially. If they are lost or if they fail, the impact is devastating. Unlike the gradual deterioration experienced initially, one's brain and senses do not have time to compensate and one's behaviour has not developed mechanisms to cope.
GN Hearing's Customer Service response has been woeful. GN Hearing supplies medical devices - not washing machines or lawnmowers.
I have no experience of the product support or customer service of other hearing aid manufacturers, but my experience of GN Hearing's support should be a salutary lesson for all hearing loss sufferers. GN Hearing does not care about its customers other than to make money out of them.
As I write, the Post Office just delivered a cutlery set I ordered from Amazon yesterday. GN Hearing still has not supplied replacement receivers for my hearing aids - 9 days after first being contacted.
