Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish. Regular updates and took time to go through all our questions.
Very disappointing experience with Glyn…
Very disappointing experience with Glyn Hopkin in Romford.
I purchased a used Nissan Qashqai from this dealership on 14 February 2026 and paid in full. Shortly after purchase I noticed extremely poor fuel consumption (around 12 MPG), which is far below what would normally be expected for this vehicle.
I reported the issue to the dealership several times and provided the evidence they requested, but the problem has never been properly addressed.
The vehicle was also advertised as being supplied with a new MOT, however this had not been completed at the time of purchase and I had to return the vehicle later for them to carry it out.
I have emailed the dealership multiple times requesting assistance and clarification regarding this issue, but unfortunately I have not received any written response. Communication and after-sales support have been very poor.
If this matter continues to remain unresolved, I will be escalating the complaint through the appropriate consumer protection channels.
Very disappointing experience and not the level of service expected from an authorised dealership.
Joke
Joke, never book a courtesy as it’s pointless. 3rd visit and 3rd time I’ve booked a loan car but never get one when i get to the garage. On the motability scheme and don’t actually understand why as they do not cater for disabled
Great customer service
Nick was very good. He made the experience pleasurable from start to finish. Both sales persons (Nick and James) were engaging from the time I walked. They were knowledgeable about their range and didn’t time asking about what it was I wanted in a car.
Nice relaxed test drive.
Thank you both - I’ll be back
Not very happy with the Colchester branch
Not very happy with the Colchester branch, had an appointment to obtain a second key for my Nissan Qashqia, which was a 40 mile round trip, only to be told after 20 minutes of arrival, that the key has not arrived yet. It would have been nice to phone me, so I did not waste my time travelling. And to make matters worse, they couldn’t care less, not good customer service.
First time owning a Nissan and all i'm…
First time owning a Nissan and all i'm going to say is this - worst customer experience EVER!
I had an awful experience buying a car from Babru at Nissan Glynn Hopkins St Albans. He knowingly sold me a car with a list of issues — including a faulty fuel pump that cost over £700 to replace (thankfully covered by warranty) and a broken entertainment system with no working sat nav or visual display, leaving me without use of the rear‑view cameras.
Since the purchase, trying to get hold of him has been impossible. Every time I call, I’m told “Babru will call you back,” yet he never does. When I finally manage to reach him, he gets defensive, raises his voice, and abruptly ends the call. His attitude is unprofessional and completely unacceptable. His lack of respect for his fellow colleagues is also evident when blaming them for issues that began with him selling me the faulty car in the first place!
He’s quick to sell but totally uninterested in helping once the sale is done. I felt completely taken advantage of, especially as a woman buying a car alone. Avoid dealing with Babru — he’s a terrible salesman and the after‑sales experience has been horrendous.
However, Pany and Nathan in the service team deserve a medal for putting up with unhappy customers like myself who have been sold faulty vehicles.

Called to test drive a car
Called to test drive a car, explained that we would happily pay more since they're our closer dealer but we were pretty sure we wanted it in orange. When we arrived they kept us waiting, then pretended to look for the keys, then after showing us a car admitted they had no intention of allowing us to test drive it because we wouldn't buy it in the other colour. Complete waste of time.

Glyn Hopkin Watford car purchase
Glyn Hopkin Watford car purchase
I have been a regular customer of Nissan since 2020 that’s when I bought a car at this dealership. Had done all my services with them every year. Though of getting a new car so visited them today, when I say I am absolutely gutted and disappointed by the behaviour of one of the sales executive Lukshan ravikumar , it will be an understatement. I was interacting as he was explaining why a specific car would not qualify for £500 discount and he flipped saying “listen to me,do not interupt me or book another appointment and come back next time, I am talking and I dont want you asking anything, just listen or rebook what do you want to do” I have never felt this humiliated in my life. As a manager myself, this experience has left me appalled and seriously I would never in this life visit back to this branch. It has put me off from Nissan in general. I never thought one interaction would make such lasting bitter impact. I would give zero star if there was an option.

I recently had the first service…
I recently had the first service carried out on my 2023 Kia Sportage. Just two weeks later, the engine malfunction light came on. Naturally, I contacted the service centre for advice and support.
Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The person I spoke to was unhelpful and unable (or unwilling) to answer a very simple question: whether there would be any cost involved in investigating the engine malfunction light. Given that the vehicle comes with a 7-year warranty, I would expect clear and straightforward communication on something like this.
To make matters worse, I was told I would need to wait over three months just to have the issue looked at. That is simply not acceptable, especially when dealing with a warning light related to the engine, and particularly so soon after a service.
After-sales support is just as important as the sales process, and this experience has seriously damaged my confidence. Based on this experience, I would have second thoughts about recommending this dealership if ongoing customer care is important to you.
Glyn Hopkin MOT St Albans
I have never, ever had such a pleasant experience with an MOT failure. No, this is not sarcasm. The car failed, if I had two rust holes the size of oranges in my underside, I would fail an MOT too. The experience however was excellent! The receptionist in the MOT / MG part of Glyn Hopkin was excellent. She was happy to help, polite and easy to deal with. The MOT mechanic, the man who took the car to the MOT bay and the man who took me to inspect the failure points were all professional, good to deal with and explained everything very well without treating me like an idiot. I AM mechanically minded but they didn’t know that. I would use this place and recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. Once I have repaired the holes I will happily return. Oh, one last thing, they have a nice waiting area with tea and biccies.
Very bad customer service
When I got my car in November, I was asked to give a review. I stupidly did that. Big mistake. They took almost 2 weeks to sort out the settlement figure with my previous finance company. I had to keep calling and emailing MG department to find out what the hold up was. I was given all sorts of excuses. I was given an untaxed car and they never told me the car was untaxed since August. A few days after obtaining the car, it was clamped and I had to pay £260 just to have it unclamped. They still refuse to give me my money back. I have since reported it to Motor Ombudsman, who are dealing with the matter. The tyres were under inflated. Whenever I call or email them, they refuse to talk to me or reply to my emails. I even tried talking to the now manager and he was quick to get rid of me. They think it's over but it's not. Even the young man who sold me the car is ignoring me. They are all in it together. They are a dodgy set of people.

Miguel made the the whole experience warm friendly and engaging with no pressure. Smooth service and far superior than any other car dealership that we attended today.
Terrible customer service
Glyn Hopkin MG Chelmsford are fine if you only want a service or MOT. If you want any work done, go somewhere else. The mechanics do a good job and the customer services are pleasant but this is possibly the least inefficient company I have ever dealt with. I needed a rear fog light replaced before the MOT which I told them when I booked. I also left a message on the parts department phone when they didn't answer my call. No one rang me back, so I rang again and said what I needed doing. I also added a note of what I needed doing when I did the online service check in before my appointment. When I arrived the fog light was not on the list of work to be carried out. I asked again if it could be done. The outcome? The car failed the MOT due to a broken fog light. I couldn't drive the car due to the fail and was told it would be 2 days before the part would be in stock. As I am the main carer for my disabled mother who lives 15 miles away, this caused me considerable inconvenience and no one at Glyn Hopkin seemed bothered in the slightest. 'These things happen' I was told. Truly hopeless.

A good deal with a pre reg Qashqai
No courtesy car, rude staff blamed me!
Took my Leaf in for a service at Glyn Hopkin Bishops Stortford today. Not cheap compared to local garages. Requested a courtesy car at online booking and received a confirmation of the service booking on Monday. Clearly stated on that email were the words "courtesy care required". Great, all confirmed I thought. Wrong. Arrived and no courtesy car available. Very rude spivvy looking young man told me it was my fault for misunderstanding the email and I should have read the Ts&Cs! Perhaps the lazy youngster could have phoned me a week ago and told me there would be no courtesy car instead of leaving me to get taxis at the last minute. Basically, they confirm they know you need a courtesy car but don't think they need to actually tell you one isn't available. Poor service!
