I recently purchased/invested in a social housing 3 bedroom property with Global Investments. My property is located in Stockton-on-Tees and the contracted rental income is 9.5% rental return on a 25-year rental lease, and overall it’s been a straightforward, and very hands-off experience.
The biggest advantage I feel is the long term rental lease as the rent is fixed and paid monthly into my bank account. I also expect a rent increase with inflation every year.
For me this totally removes a lot of the usual stress around tenants, repairs and vacancies. It feels much more predictable than traditional buy-to-let.
Overall, it suits me as a passive investment. If you’re looking for high involvement or big upside, it’s probably not ideal but for steady, predictable income, it does what it says on the tin and I am very happy.

We first started working with Barrie back in 2021 when we got into rental properties and bought a student place in the UK. That whole experience went really well. The returns have been solid and steady, and it gave us the confidence to keep going and build up more properties. Because of that, we started thinking about buying in the US too, so we reached out to Barrie to see what options we had.
Barrie really took the time to understand what we wanted, how much risk we were comfortable with, and the kind of properties we were after. He kept bringing us deals that actually matched what we were looking for in terms of returns. Having someone who listens to what’s right for you and didnt push us into something we weren’t comfortable with made a big difference for us.
We bought our first US property last year. It had already been fully refurbished before tenants moved in and it’s now running as a Section 8 rental with tenants in place, bringing in steady and reliable income. The whole process from buying, through to the refurb and getting tenants was handled smoothly, and we were kept updated the whole time. During the buying process John helped us a lot, he made sure we understood all the details. He went through inspection reports with us, explained what was needed to close, and gave straightforward advice that helped us make decisions without feeling unsure. We never felt rushed, and he was always happy to answer any questions, even small ones.
Since then, we’ve added a second property in Cleveland to our portfolio. It’s currently being refurbished and should be finished next month, again set up as a Section 8 rental.
Overall, Global Investments Inc has been really helpful from start to finish buying properties in the U.K. and U.S. They have kept communication clear, been open about everything, and made what could have been a complicated process feel much easier to handle.
We definitely plan to keep investing and will 100% be working with them again as soon as we can.

I wanted to start buying real estate but I had limited cash in hand, so I decided to use the financing option. Having the right support means a lot when you make a big decision. I am very lucky to have found the Global Investments team and their referral to Mortgage Shop. Everything went smoother than I thought and I am preparing to buy my second one.
The team was very professional from the start. They walked me through the process easily and explained everything I needed in detail. I appreciate the detailed meetings and their professionalism around it.
Having Alara supporting me through the process truly made a difference. I had some doubts in the beginning but seeing how knowledgeable and patient she was with me, made me confident in my decision and it was easier than I expected it to be.

Me and my partner bought a distressed duplex renovation project in Cleveland though Global 7 months ago. They renovated it and the cost for this was all included in the overall deal which we really liked and we were really happy with the end result.
The renovation took just over 3 months to be completed and it also took a couple of months to get both units rented out and the rental yield is close to what we expected. The time line for everything to be completed was almost as expected and from the out set Barrie made this process and time line clear. We would of course liked the process to have been quicker.
The main aim of this investment was to be able to refinance and we have just completed this process and the mortgage company recommended by Barrie have been great and we have just cashed out almost 70% of the houses value, which came in $25k more than we paid for it.
The costs to refinance is not cheap, but overall we feel it was worth it and we will still be making making good positive cash flow and also putting some money away every month for any unknowns.
Big takeaway is this strategy works in Cleveland, but only if you buy a well located property that you are confident will appraise higher in value than the purchase price. Global gave me some great advice on this and location is definitely important for this and also for getting tenants in quickly.
Would we do it again? Yes definitely as this first purchase has been a good learning experience and also allowed us to be able to leverage and buy another property soon. But think we might consider a tenanted house or a smaller single family renovation project for our next purchase, just so the wait for income is not as long.

I would like to clarify a few points for transparency, as this is not about expectations, but about documented facts.
• The issues raised are based on the original inspection report commissioned before purchase
• Several key items identified there were not properly addressed
• The problems we are dealing with are not minor maintenance issues, but fundamental system and safety-related concerns
Regarding the timeline:
• The property was purchased in October 2024
• Renovation works were only confirmed as completed around April, based on your own communication
• We accepted this delay in good faith, expecting the work to be completed properly
In addition, the properties were marketed with Section 8 potential, which implies a significantly higher standard of condition and compliance. Based on the current state, the properties are clearly far from meeting those requirements.
Regarding Revere:
• The tenant reported roof leaks and heating issues from the beginning, not one year later
• Temporary fixes were carried out, but the underlying problems were not properly resolved
Regarding Alcoy:
• After the experience with Revere, we deliberately stopped renting the property to avoid exposing further tenants to similar conditions
• This decision proved to be correct once additional issues became evident
Additional facts:
• Over $6,000 has already been spent on HVAC and plumbing-related repairs
• A further $2,200 had to be paid to the City of Cleveland to resolve a municipal issue related to the property condition
• Further renovation costs are ongoing to bring the property to a stable and rentable condition
Overall, this situation has resulted in nearly two years without rental income, while continuing to cover all associated costs.
The points mentioned here are only a summary. The full extent of the issues is significantly broader and fully documented through inspection reports, communication, video evidence, and invoices.
This is not a case of expectations not being met slightly, but a situation where the condition and outcome differ substantially from what was presented at the time of purchase.

My experience with Global Investments has been extremely disappointing and has resulted in delays, additional costs, and no return on investment.
The properties were delivered incomplete and not ready for rental, with essential items missing and works left unfinished. I was forced to arrange independent inspections at my own expense, which confirmed that the quality and level of completion were below acceptable standards.
In practice, this meant:
- additional works had to be carried out using my own funds,
- further delays were introduced before the properties could even be considered rentable,
- and the overall timeline extended far beyond what was initially indicated.
There were also serious issues with site management and security. In one of the properties, the furnace and hot water tank were removed, raising major concerns about control over the site and protection of the asset.
Communication throughout the process was inconsistent and often ineffective, with delays in responses and lack of clear accountability, making it difficult to resolve even straightforward issues.
Despite all of the above, I continue to cover ongoing expenses and repairs, while almost a year later there is still no rental income generated.
Overall, this experience reflects poor execution, lack of oversight, and significant financial impact on the investor.
I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.
UPDATE 4/22/2026
Global only contacted us to remove the review. Another evidence that they don't care about the great financial loss we are facing for over a year now, by reason of their lack of professionalism.
PS. The tragic irony is that the management company they put the blame on, is the one that they recommended to us!!!

I purchased a property in Cleveland with Global Investments back in January and overall I am happy with how everything has worked out. Initially I was nervous as I live in the UK so buying in a country so far away did worry me. But the team have been great to deal with and I have to say that Alara and Michael were particularly excellent with helping me with all the updates on the renovations and seeing the pictures and video walk through when my house was finished was great. They also helped me with all things needed for management, insurance etc for my house etc. Also the accountant Richard was really nice and helpful with getting my LLC set up in time for when i completed on my property purchase and also rents are bing paid into my US bank account that he also set up for me. I am now in talks with the finance company recommend and looking to re finance my property which should hopefully allow me to buy another property.

I just finalised the purchase of my UK property with Global Investments and just had my first rent payment paid to me on time. Scott was very knowledgeable and helpful from the very start and I felt very comfortable with the entire process. The solicitors who handled the legal side of things were great but it was quite a slow process and I would of liked it to have been quicker. But this is not unusual in the UK and I just had to be patient! Overall I am very happy with everything.

My experience with Global Investments has been extremely disappointing, defined by a lack of transparency, poor execution, and unacceptable communication.
It took approximately nine (9) & six (6) months to complete the renovations of two properties in Cleveland, and even then, the delivery was incomplete and substandard. Critical works were missing, and the property was in no way ready for Section 8 standards. For example, basic requirements such as fire detectors had not even been installed.
When this was raised, the response I received was to proceed with inspection first, accept any violations, and address them afterwards — which is entirely unacceptable and reflects a lack of professionalism, experience and planning.
Additionally, the actual value of the properties is significantly lower than initially presented, as the renovations appear superficial and incomplete. I am now forced to invest additional personal capital to bring the properties to a proper, rentable condition.
The renovation crews involved were clearly poorly managed and unprofessional, creating further delays and complications. The overall execution demonstrates a lack of control and quality assurance.
Even after all this time, the properties have not been properly delivered, I continue to cover ongoing monthly expenses and bills, and one year later there is still no income generated!!!
Communication throughout has been extremely poor. Messages and emails are frequently ignored, with no clear updates or accountability.
As an investor with professional experience, I find this level of service, transparency, and delivery completely unacceptable and far from what was initially presented.
I would not recommend this company to other investors and strongly advise extreme caution before entering into any collaboration.

I strongly disagree with your position, and I will address the key points clearly.
First, the issue is not your “standard process” regarding Section 8 inspections. The issue is that the properties were not delivered in a condition that meets even basic standards, regardless of inspection strategy. Missing essential items such as fire detectors, broken windows, along with other deficiencies identified through independent inspections, cannot be classified as “minor items”!!!
Second, regarding the quality and completion of the works: the properties were not delivered to an acceptable standard, and this is precisely why I was forced to arrange independent inspections at my own expense. The findings confirm that the works are incomplete and below expected quality levels.
Third, the statement that the properties were “handed over in good condition within a reasonable timeframe” does not reflect reality. The timeline, the actual condition upon delivery, and the need for additional works funded by myself clearly demonstrate otherwise!!!
Regarding access, your statement is misleading. In one of the properties, there was an incident where the furnace and the hot water tank were removed, raising serious concerns about security and site control. Under these circumstances, it is entirely reasonable that I required scheduled and controlled access, rather than unrestricted entry. This was a matter of basic asset protection, not obstruction!!! It's even irresponsible to mention by your side....
Finally, regarding your comment implying that my review was posted to avoid payment — this is completely inaccurate and inappropriate.
If you wish to proceed with any financial settlement discussions, I am more than willing to provide a full breakdown of all additional costs I have personally covered, for works that were supposed to have been completed!!!! These costs will, of course, need to be taken into account accordingly and they pass the "owed" ones!!!!!
At this stage, my position remains unchanged. The review reflects my experience and the current status of the properties.

Buying an investment property with Global in Cleveland, Ohio turned out to be a good decision for me and my husband. I have waited a few months before posting this review so I could give some insight into how the process went and it was much smoother than I expected. With the help of Scott I was able to secure a property in a decent neighbourhood with good potential for appreciation. The house inspection report that was completed for me was very detailed and I was impressed by this too. I was guided through the entire process and never felt rushed to do anything. There’s strong rental demand and a tenant was placed within 6 weeks of me completing on my property. So overall it’s been a smart investment so far, and i’d definitely consider expanding my portfolio here in the future.

I recently bought a low-priced single family property in Cleveland with Global and overall, I'd say it's been a pretty positive experience.
The biggest advantage was definitely the price. Compared to other cities, I was able to get into the market for $85k which is much lower compared to other cities and this made it much less risky. What really made a difference, though, was choosing a good neighbourhood which Barrie was great with and the area is generally safe, well-kept, and there's steady demand from tenants, so I didn't have trouble finding renters. That said, it's not completely hassle-free. This property is older, so I've already had to deal with a few minor maintenance repairs. Nothing unexpected, but it's something you need to budget for it you're buying in this price range. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. The rental income has been consistent so far, and for the price I paid, the return looks promising. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable entry into property investing just make sure you pick the right neighbourhood and keep some money aside for upkeep.
