Appalling !! .I can't believe I was so STUPID. He charged me 420 to fit a toilet. He told me to give him 100 cash and 320 bank transfer. He then tells me to lie to his boss and tell them that he only took £320 . Didn't even complete his job, he told me he would comeback . I tried contacting him over and over again but no answer, so decided to call the office, Called so many times they told me the same thing that they would tell the manager and get back to me but 3 months and still no phone call.

Charged my elderly uncle £200 to turn the water off. A job that would have literally taken 10mins. £48 call out fee which should have covered it, then they charged £150 on top for no reason. My uncle paid it because he didn't know any different. Called the company three times to explain and no-one did anything about it. Definitely avoid!!!

Horrific organisation who attempt to exploit the elderly and vulnerable. Tried to charge my mum over £350 for a job that actually cost her £40. Luckily she declined and was persistent despite the hard sell from the plumber she was visited by. Exploitative, morally bankrupt and highly dubious organisation.

I write for a good friend, he never told me he was calling a plummer because I'd of run this guy off and made sure he never got the £50 call out.
Came out while a friend desparate and quoted £275 to replace a tap that costs £9.90 on amazon then tried to milk £1200... Yes, you read right, £1200 to dig up a floor that didn't need digging up... He was sent on his way then he called me saying what happened, I went round to his house and with a spanner tightened the nut leading to tap and stopped leak for free.
Anyone who doesn't review companies these days are extremely dumb..... I buy NOTHING and ALWAYS review anyone if needed, same on selling sites, always buy from well reviewed sellers.... You will always save a fortune and save yourself a lot of trouble and expense.
This company (if you can call it that) and is a total joke who just make up prices as they go along, if your soft they will scam you massively for work not needed, how they (or he) is still in business isn't surprising because no matter how many times you warn people about being ripped off there are always plenty of gullable suckers who'll just pay what's asked like many on here.... I should of been a plumber, I work cheap and do work as if working on my own property.
Biggest rip off ever old George.... Just be grateful I wasn't there when you called, you'd off been famous on tik tok, YouTube and Instagram Mr... Who knows, I may develop a leak and give this guy a call myself.
Another fine example of Jeremy Kyle fodder, all about himself and not a care about any hardship he causes as long as his pockets filled.

SCAM ARTISTS!!!! Should have read reviews first all consistently terrible. Called the company said they would sent plumber within the hour and would £47 call out fee. Plumber came was a little unsure but thinks the problem was a full replacement and would cost £350 to replace part and fix. I asked him to email quote, he advise need to pay call out before he leaves, I transferred by BACS. Since then never received quote or receipt of payment chased on numerous occasions but just get ignored. Turns out when another plumber came in it was just a washer that needed replacing and work done in 5mins and only £75 charged. George the Plumber do not trade with any dignity or integrity just take any easy call out fee for turning up at your door miss diagnoses the issue and you never here from them again. You do live and learn 😔

update to my earlier experience with this scam company. They charged me 913 to unblock toilet- wish I had read reviews first... but subsequently there was a leak. It was determined that the original scam plumber had not fitted the flush cone so every time toilet was flushed it was dumping all water onto floor leaking through ceiling. I now need entire ceiling replastered but these people are not accountable and do not even answer the phone to me. Despicable people.

Overpriced | £400–500
I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received and, quite honestly, feel completely ripped off.

I was charged over £400 for a plumber who was at my property for less than 45 minutes, and the work actually carried out was simply applying sealant around my shower tray.

I was also told that the drainage would be looked at and inspected, but this was not done. Despite this, I was still charged over £400.

I have since made several calls and was told that someone would get back to me, but nobody ever returned my calls. I also sent emails raising my concerns and these were effectively ignored.

I completely appreciate that professional plumbing services cost money, and I have no issue paying a fair and reasonable price for work carried out. However, being charged over £400 for less than 45 minutes of work, when the additional work I was told would be done wasn't carried out, and then being unable to get any explanation or response, is extremely disappointing.

I feel that I was overcharged and treated very poorly as a customer. I would strongly recommend getting a clear written quotation and full breakdown of costs before using this company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend their service. I added review on Google and the owner replied stating it was a fake review. He has also done this on other 1 star reviews. I have email evidence which I would happily share to save others from hvaing the same experience.

Absolute rip off & terrible service.
The only thing they did well was respond quickly & arrange call out.
Can now see that is because they want to rip you off.
Charged us over £500 to clear a kitchen drain & problem returned immediately!
We called them to raise this & get them back out & they never came back to us.

The plumber who attended our property was abrupt & rude. Didn't listen or explain the problem.
As soon as we agreed to the work, the service completely changed & I'm not sure they're even qualified plumbers!!

I only gave this 1 because i can’t give them zero. Very rude and aggressive throughout. Wanted to do completely wreck my ceiling looking for a leak when it was obvious to me. Wanted me to pay so much more than I need too. Charged me for a call out and an inspection.
Then harassed me on the phone all day ti make me pay so aggressively and rude all the time. Even when I had paid they were still ringing and being aggressive.

Please be very wary when instructing this company, please read all the below 1* reviews and many Google Reviews before instructing this company.

They attended my property for an urgent leak which was diagnosed in a few minutes (very obvious leak) and then told me I'd receive a quote from the office. The quote was absolutely eye-watering, ridiculously priced, and I can’t understand how they can justify the cost. I obviously didn’t proceed.

Please read other reviews making the same claims, this appears to be their business model which is very unprofessional and unethical. AVOID at all costs!!

Charged elderly mother £1200 to replace a toilet. Simple like for like replacement.
Came the first day and removed the toilet charging £600, wanted payment before leaving, and said he would be back the following day.

He had been due at 4pm and arrived 7pm and ‘worked’ for 2 hours.
Came the next day with a £75 toilet from screwfix.
Fitted the toilet.
Sent invoice via WhatsApp, when asked for VAT registration number he eye rolled and huffed.
When asked for amendment to show £600 had been paid the night before was further huffs and eye rolls.

After questioning the VAT and possible amendment the toilet was then taken back out claiming a leak AFTER showing it fully working and fine.

Another invoice was sent and the VAT had been changed to MAKE PIPEWORK FOR DRAIN AND SUPPLY PIPES - total still £1200
He didn’t bring any rags or blue roll, he went through 2 toilet rolls and used the bath mat on the floor - without even telling us.
Very rude and argumentative!!
Disrespectful to women.
Constant eye roll and huffing.
Strongly believe the leak was fabricated so that he could change the invoice for it to still remain at £1200.

George plumbing Birmingham. I had a plumbing come to fix a toilet leakand he quoted us £275 for the job with £50 call-out charge. When I questioned him why is it so expensive he got all nasty and said to my husband do you own the house and he said no we both do and we told him to leave. We paid the £50 call-out charge only. I contacted the company and they sounded as this was a usual complaint and never questioned what I had told them. We got the job done by another plumber for £75 total cost.

Would not give it a star rating at all but had to click 1 star to make the review.
This company is a SCAM entering peoples homes. Praying on vulnerable people as per previous reviews.
Advised £47 call out. Quote arrived after inspection for replacing inside mechanism of toilet cystern.
£47 call out.
£55 diagnostics.
Total price £709.20 fitted inc vat.
Cost of a brand new toilet fitted in the uk is between £150 and £495.
Classed it as an emergency call out because its Saturday.
Payed the £47 and refused the £55 diagnostic.
Waste of £56.20 and am now awaiting the invoice of payment with details.
This company are making £102 for 35 mins checks. Local plumber used George in Heanor.
These guys are making £2448 per 24hrs per plumber used a day and not even doing anything for it.

Replaced toilet with completely different model, leaving gap between cistern and wall. Broke tiles. Fitted wrong seat. Threw one of our towels into the rubbish box. Didn't seal toilet properly. Poor command of English.

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS OUTFIT!! I called out an emergency plumber to fix a leak in my house urgently, contacting “George the plumber Evesham”. An outfit called PlumbFix Birmingham attended, charged me £622 for under an hours “work”, applied 2 plastic pipe caps, without the required pipe inserts - I found out later he forgot to cap a third pipe which started leaking, as well as one of the existing caps started leaking! I went to Screw fix, got the required parts and re fixed the leaks my self!! The plumber insisted on payment before he left - cash or bank transfer. I’ve sent a complaint and second complaint - no response! Do not risk your money with this rogue company!

Total scam shame on police for not doing their jobs when there’s so much evidence they should be an example made by police as so many people with proof of fraud are asking police fraud squad and trading standards seem to not bothered by older people getting money stolen by them. There’s so much corruption since the illegal boats coming from France. No one seems bothered by this maybe we are getting used to idiots cant they see that they’re are not gaining anything they are just idiots who think that they are going to be better off.

If I could give 0 I would! Totally scammed my mum. She had a leak coming through her kitchen ceiling cut a big hole in her kitchen and dining room ceilings! Said they fixed it and charged her £1,080, and wouldn't leave till she paid in full! When I went to have a shower there was no water! He had just turned an isolation scew of on a pipe. When mum turned it back on, water started leaking again. We had to get another company out costing a further £450+ £49 call out
We have found that 'George the Plumber' is an umbrella company for
Maer&G ltd we have been trying for weeks to get hold of people involved in both companies, we keep getting ghosted! We have since phoned the police fraud and bank hoping to get her money back! If you do find you get conned by this company please contact fraud police. The more that do the quicker there can get stopped from doing it to others. I have tried posting on their rating but 14 allow it as all their rating are fake!

We feel absolutely ripped off by this so called 'company'! Someone came out yesterday and although we didn't state it to be an emergency, they sent someone out straight away. We were told it would be a £47 plus VAT call out fee. The guy that came didn't really seem to know much but said for an extra fee, he could do a diagnostic test to find out the problem. This would cost a further £300. Stupidly, we agreed. He came up with a 'solution' after not really doing anything, but said he was unable to fix it. He wouldn't leave until we paid and took a photo of the screen showing the payment had been made. We have since had another plumber around who said it was nothing to do with what we were told - what we had paid £300 for!! I'm so disgusted and feel stupid that we went with these cowboys! If I could rate zero stars, I would. DO NOT USE!!!!!!

I would leave a no star review if I could. It turns out that my 'local plumber' George Plumbing is actually a dissolved company and the actual company is UBR plumbing. This is a recently formed company which is quite frankly shocking. I had the same experience as others where they tried to inflate the price at every turn. Everything was done via email with acceptance from me required at every step. One of their quotes I told the plumber attending was quite frankly ridiculous and then it miraculously halved (thank goodness I refused the original quote). Same experience as others that I was hounded for payment and the plumber literally sat on my drive and refused to leave until I had confirmed. I sadly only realised after he had kleft that they had overcharged me. They agreed to a refund but since will not respond to any emails and so I doubt very much that I will ever see that arrive in my bank account. The most frustrating thing for me is that they literally do not care and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it! Except spread the word! PLEASE please avoid at all costs
