Gaydar.net used to be a terrific site. Since then it's become over-complicated, difficult to use and seems endlessly to be experiencing software problems. Frankly, it's a bit of a mess these days. Pit... See more

Avoid The Gaydar Scam

Avoid Gaydar. It is populated only with fake profiles and scammers. Gaydar not only tolerate this but seem to promote it. Every 'profile' that I was matched with immediately wanted me to switch over to a third party chat app where, after a couple of hook messages, I was asked for money. Gaydar is basically a deliberate and proactive scamming site. The algorithms are set to draw you in and scam you. If such sites/apps were regulated at all Gaydar would be shut down instantly. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

After paying for a subscription

After paying for a subscription, which I thought I had later cancelled, and which got "renewed" I cancelled again. I started to notice getting what arguably are "stock responses" from profiles, and I respond and NEVER get any replies. I believe that Gaydar is a huge scam with the help of AI. Avoid it

I’ve paid my subscription every time I…

I’ve paid my subscription every time I log on it won’t accept my logon details. The only way I can see my messages if I get a message from a guy I can go on but then to read the message. I’ve got to pay more money I’ve sent over 12 messages to the Help team. They’ve not answered one of them. I’ve been ripped off. Has anyone else been ripped off by Gayder?

This new version is absolutely hopeless

This new version is absolutely hopeless. With the previous version you could select a country or a town. The free version is a shame and I totally agree with all the negative reports of the other users.I deleted my profile a few hours ago which was far from being easy !

I remember Gaydar from its early days…

I remember Gaydar from its early days when it was actually usable and fun, with free messaging and chat rooms. Now it's completely hopeless. Basic features like reverb and proper interaction are locked behind expensive VIP paywalls. You can't do much without constantly being pushed to upgrade.
Worst of all, photo approvals are a nightmare. I've submitted clear, recent, non explicit pictures multiple times, and they get rejected for no clear reason. It's frustrating and feels arbitrary, making it impossible to even set up a proper profile.
The site is full of outdated design, bugs, and seems more interested in squeezing money out of users than providing a decent experience. Very disappointed.

Cannot do ANYTHING unless you pay immediately

You cannot do ANYTHING on the site unless you pay immediately. You cannot even read messages, which are blurred out unless you sign up for a plan. Not only that, but the messages have a 24 hour expiry as the site tries to force you into paying. Deleting immediately.

The site is overcomplicated and you are…

The site is overcomplicated and you are constantly being asked to pay to do anything. The chat feature which used to be the best ever is now obviously monitored by AI anything negative towards the site is removed
I shall stick with Grindr and pay my membership to them.

Beware

I would give zero if possible. I foolishly took out a monthly subscription on this website but cancelled soon after as it wasn't what I expected.
They continued taking money against my credit card every month since. The name on the bill is GD Online Ltd. They don't reply to emails, phone calls or letters. I have had to call my bank to cancel the charges.
Gaydar customer services are no help. They claim that GD Online is 'the old management team' and refuse to provide contact details.
Be very wary of this company.

Yet another Gaydar .

Yet another Gaydar .
Hard to imagine a worse version of Gaydar but here it is.
Since the update its now totally unusable even as a Vip.
No way to answer messages.
No way to search profiles by distance.
Total rubbish site wanting to charge you for everything.
Bring back the original.

Unusable

Since the "upgrade" you can no longer send or receive messages on the app, which somehow I think is the most important aspect

The website now adds you to random groups which you cannot leave

No stars

Paid for VIP MEMBERSHIP 4th June

Paid for VIP MEMBERSHIP 4th June, (that's a misnomer for a start) via Google play, took the money and did not activate my upgrade, submitted service request same day via app and got a ticket number, 2 days later replied to email still no response, submitted further 3 support requests got the ticket numbers and still no response, contacted Google Play who basically said tough luck nothing to do with us suggested going through the app link on Google Play for contact info, sent email, what a surprise, no response, called telephone number, does not exist. Will now have to go through the bank for them to claw back the payment.
