Cancelled order still no refund
I have the same complaint as those below. I then cancelled my order and was sent an order cancellation, saying it would be through in a few days. That was the 7th July. Have still not received it.
The web site appears to be down and the telephone is not working.
I think I have lost my money.
Frequent delays on in stock item
I ordered a garden table, which was listed in stock. I received an email advising of a 7-10 working day delay. Not ideal, bit I chose to wait. After chasing I was told 2-3 more weeks. I clarified that this was still showing as in stock on their website and was advised this means it is in stock at their supplier. I waited again with no contact, then after chasing again I was told it would be a further 4-6 weeks! By this point I would miss the whole summer, so I cancelled my order and purchased elsewhere. They truly did have it in stock as I had it 2 days later. The staff at garden XL remained polite and helpful, but their use of the phrase in stock is different to what most consumers expect.

Called on 5th June and was told it would be another week, called a week later and told it would be another 2-3 weeks. Staff are very helpful and courteous however it appeared that this is a very common occurrence, had to cancel order as I had no faith that the order would ever be received.
Not the best service
Ordered leisuregrow bbq said it was in stock and would be with me in 3-5 days had telephone call about a week later to say it was further delayed by 2 weeks, went on there website and still said item was in stock! Emailed them and now said still awaiting stop so further delays. I had to have a refund, this is appalling. I never complain unless I have to. I suggest you ring them to make sure it is in stock, no good going by their website...the one I ordered still says in stock! Be careful
False delivery times
I placed an order for Swiss Grill BBQ on 15 May 14 and at the time of placing the order I was told that the item would be delivered in 5 days. The following day I received a telephone call from a Garden XL employee explaining that there was an issue with the supplier and to expect delivery within 7-10 days. I accepted this delay at the time although when I still had not received my BBQ by 2 weeks of purchase, I decided to contact Garden XL again. Having finally received a phone call this afternoon, I have been told that the BBQ would be at least a further 2 weeks (although this was not guaranteed).
The money left my account within 24 hours of purchase and yet nearly 3 weeks later, I am only now being told of a further delay.
I have cancelled my purchase and highly recommend that you stay clear of this organisation.
Pleasantly surprised!
Having made an order on a bit of an impulse to make best use the 20% saving offer, I took the time (possibly shouldn't have) to check reviews on this site. Whilst I can relate to some comments, overall I've been pleasantly surprised with the correct product delivered as promised on the right day without a substantial wait.
The only small issue I had - Garden XL please take note! - is that the order tracking link in their 'order dispatched' email never worked, so it prompted a call to Customer Service, who also didn't seem to have any tracking information - hence a pleasant surprise when delivered on time!
So, overall, quite happy and would use again!
Avoid at all costs!!!!!!

Dear Gordon,
I'd like to start this correspondence by outlining that I am also a Managing Director of a successful chemical distribution company. We have been established since 2008 and pride ourselves on our technical support, customer and delivery service. We pay a premium for our warehousing and distribution but feel it is justified to service our customers whom repeat order and often comment they wish there other suppliers were as proactive.
This brings me to my point, one being a disgruntled customer, which you really don't want with social networking and customer review sites these days, but you seem to be pioneering this revolution with such vigour.
You website clearly states 2-3 days delivery as standard unless otherwise stated plus 60% getting next day, really!!
Due to this representation on your plush website I decided to take the plunge as my old BBQ probably has so many germs on it, if I served a burger to The Hulk, he probably would end up the size of Tyrion Lannister by the time he has got off the lavatory.
My order no. 301620 was placed last Sunday, 11th of May. Once the order was placed I did delve deeper into your website and found some slightly concerning comments and reviews on both Facebook and Trustpilot, mainly since December 2013. I had reservations but gave your company the benefit of the doubt.
To make sure all would go to plan and I get my nice shiny new BBQ for this weekend, I called, Monday and Tuesday and was told by Claire it's being picked, two days too pick a BBQ, wow must be heavy. Called again Wednesday and told organised for Friday delivery so made sure I would be at home that day, as a company owner I organised what I needed to at my office. Called again Thursday as still had a nagging doubt but all sorted I was assured. As home on Friday morning, called again, yes on way told again, then called at 3.30pm, yes on schedule, may be at 5.30pm if they're (the haulier) running late. Called again at 5.30pm, spoke to Rachel who advised she had a number of phone calls from other customers who hadn't received their nice new BBQs. Rachel kindly called back to my home as I had to collect kids, so spoke to my wife and basically advised that she's coming up against a brick wall and doesn't know what to say.
The conversation was left that we are now on a list with other people who didn't get their goods and her colleague will look at it tomorrow, if nothing can be done then we will get a call on Monday.
So as it stands I have paid for my BBQ, taken a day off work and have roughly £40's worth of various meats sitting in my fridge with an impending BBQ to cook it on and potentially another day off work.
If I have to take Monday off work or any other day next week, this BBQ has now cost me almost £800, quite a lot for a £299 BBQ. Just to clarify, this cost is two days off work, meat that's now no good and probably going to landfill or composting and my money you have in your account.
Not a great start for a new customer is it!!
Can't wait to hear your explanation or justification for such incompetence, no confirmation emails and a customer who has tried to do your staffs work by being in constant touch to avoid this issue ever happening.
I gave up as no response, so bought from a local company and demanded a refund, even had to name and shame them on their Facebook page to get the refund.
False promises on delivery on website and over phone
I ordered a Swiss Grill barbecue on their website 22nd April. on the website it said delivery within 1-2 days. I then get a call the next day saying it will take 5-7 days to deliver as its not in stock. The following week I call as it has not yet showed up, I then get told it takes 5-7 days to deliver to THEM, and then they need to send it with a courier team out to me. This would take apperantly another 3-4 days. I then called back a week after this and the barbecue would get to me "today or tomorrow". Then I call back today to find out the barbecue has still not been delivered to their warehouse!! And then when I go on their website it still lists it as having the barbecue in stock and delivery within 1-2 days. Appaling. If you need it for an event don't trust these people as far as you can throw them.

Was not happy with the whole transaction, problems, delivery for spending nearly £600.00
Have now had beautiful loungers delivered and professionally packed delivered within two days by a professional company!!

Outback BBQ shown as in stock on website (and still does now a week after ordering) but when I called to ask why the item hadnt been received after ordering 7 days ago (delivery should be 2 days as per the website) I was advised that they had run out of stock and would not be ordering any more this season!! Useless company!

Appalling customer service
I ordered a Smoker before christmas and double checked before ordering that it included in the offer a cover (otherwise I would of ordered elsewhere as price was only good if it included a cover). Order was also made for two other items. Order confirmed as 4 items (assumed be be smoker, the included cover and the two other items). When order arrived no cover. Called and was told it had been omitted in error and cover would be with me in couple of days. Nothing for a week so emailed and was told no cover was being provided as not part of offer. Both myself and wife checked at time of order and both recall distinctly it being included. When we looked website had been changed so no longer included cover. When complained cock and bull story given that the fact the order referred to 4 rather than 3 items was due to one of the 4 items not being a reference to the cover (even thought told on phone it was) but that smoker came in two pieces and thus was deemed to be 2 items. On website it is sold as one item and has a single product code. Dreadful company that lies to its customer ( now an ex customer) - use at your peril.
Appalling customer service
I ordered a pair of boots 3 weeks before Christmas. Got an email to say they would be sent they would be dispatched within 3-5 days. No sign of them by 20 Dec so rang for up to date info. I was told a 'manager' would ring me back. Nothing happened. Boots not received by Christmas & no explanation. Rang on 31 Dec. Again told the problem would be looked into then rung back. Nothing happened. In frustration emailed the MD with my list of complaints. No answer. Tried to ring him. Was told he would ring me back. Nothing happened! How can a company have so little regard for its customers. Would never use again, and would recommend anyone to be very wary of using them for mail order To date (11th Jan) still no sign of the boots!
